4 Lakh Loan Without Income Proof, Salary Slips - Eligibility & How to Apply
Borrowing ₹4 lakh unsecured, with no income documents at all, is uncommon in India. At this size lenders look at your credit record and usually want salary slips, bank statements or an ITR, so 'without income proof' really means a pre-approved offer from your own bank, a statement-based check, a co-applicant, or a loan secured on gold, deposits or investments. On our example terms ₹3,90,560 reaches you and you repay ₹4,30,978 to ₹5,64,953 over 12 to 36 months.

When is ₹4 lakh worth borrowing for surgery or a car?
The usual trigger is the gap between a hospital bill and what health insurance pays: a planned operation that exceeds the sum insured, deductions under policy terms, or a rejected claim. In 2023-24 insurers paid about 71% of the value of health claims filed and disallowed ₹15,100 crore, IRDAI data reported by Business Standard show.
Borrow only the uncovered part, once you have the hospital's itemised estimate and the insurer's written decision. If the patient is 70 or older, check the Ayushman Vay Vandana card, which gives up to ₹5 lakh of cover a year per family alongside any private policy. The other common use, a used-car down payment, is covered in the FAQs.
How much does ₹4 lakh cost over one to three years?
The fee looks small as a percentage but not in rupees: 2% is ₹8,000 and GST adds ₹1,440, so ₹3,90,560 lands in your account while interest is charged on the whole ₹4 lakh.
At 14% a year over 12 months the total cost is ₹40,418; over 36 months it's ₹1,01,598. At 24% over 36 months you repay ₹5,64,953, a total cost of ₹1,74,393 against the ₹3,90,560 that actually reaches you. These rates are illustrative, and a stronger credit score tends to earn a lower one.
| Rate (p.a.) | Tenure | Monthly EMI | ≈ Per week | Total repaid | Interest | Total cost incl. fee + GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14% | 12 months | ₹35,915 | ₹8,288 | ₹4,30,978 | ₹30,978 | ₹40,418 |

| 14% | 36 months | ₹13,671 | ₹3,155 | ₹4,92,158 | ₹92,158 | ₹1,01,598 |

What EMI does ₹4 lakh need, and will your income carry it?
A 12-month term needs an EMI of ₹35,915 at 14% or ₹37,824 at 24%, roughly ₹8,288 or ₹8,729 a week. Over 24 months it drops to ₹19,205 or ₹21,148, and over 36 months to ₹13,671 or ₹15,693.
Lenders set that EMI against your income and existing loans; Piramal Finance says your debt-to-income ratio must stay within acceptable limits, which a car EMI on top can break. A late payment brings the penal charges listed in your KFS and a mark on your credit report.
How can you qualify for ₹4 lakh without salary slips?
Four routes work at this size. Existing customers may get a pre-approved offer: some banks grant instant loans without documents based on your credit profile, income and relationship with them. Bank statements carry much of the weight: Piramal Finance's online journey verifies income from three months of statements, and OLYV accepts recent statements as income proof from the self-employed. The self-employed can add an ITR, which Aditya Birla Capital lists for them. And Aditya Birla Capital says a co-applicant's eligibility is added to yours.
Credit history weighs more here: in our data Piramal Finance wants a CIBIL score of 750 and Aditya Birla Capital 700. Stated minimum monthly incomes: ₹15,000 (OLYV), ₹18,000 (Prefr), ₹20,000 (Aditya Birla Capital), ₹25,000 (Piramal Finance), ₹30,000 (Freo).
How do Freo, Piramal, OLYV, Aditya Birla Capital and Prefr compare?
All five can lend ₹4 lakh. Freo, OLYV and Prefr stop at ₹5 lakh; Piramal Finance goes to ₹25 lakh and Aditya Birla Capital to ₹50 lakh. Those two are NBFCs lending on their own books, with ₹50,000 minimums and tenures of 9–60 and 12–84 months. Fees in our data: up to 4% at Aditya Birla Capital, up to 5% at Piramal, 2–15% at OLYV, as much as 7% on each withdrawal plus an annual line fee at Freo, and 3–5% plus GST at Prefr, which doesn't publish its own fee on prefr.com; check the KFS.
OLYV, Prefr and Freo connect you to partner lenders: OLYV's include InCred, Northern Arc and Poonawalla Fincorp; Prefr's include Poonawalla Fincorp, SMFG India Credit and MAS Financial Services; Freo's include RBL Bank. Only Piramal and Aditya Birla Capital are marked as requiring a CIBIL score.

What's the quickest sensible way to raise ₹4 lakh for a hospital bill?
Try the cheaper routes first; an unsecured loan is the fallback.
- 1
Get the hospital's written estimate and your insurer's approval or rejection, so you know the uncovered amount.
- 2
Check your own bank's app for a pre-approved loan before applying elsewhere.
- 3
Price gold, fixed-deposit, mutual-fund, LIC and PF options against unsecured quotes.
- 4
Apply to one or two lenders, not five; Piramal Finance warns that multiple applications can hurt your credit score.
- 5
Compare KFS documents on APR, total repayable and prepayment charges, and note which NBFC or bank lends.
- 6
Ask whether the lender can pay the hospital directly; RBI lets a specific-purpose loan go straight to the end beneficiary's account.
What are the risks when you borrow ₹4 lakh under pressure?
Fraud first. Ads promising '₹5 lakh, no documents' are a warning sign: every regulated lender must note your income, age and occupation, and RBI has warned about unauthorised apps that add hidden charges and recover high-handedly.
Then cost and lock-ins. Three years at 24% costs ₹1,74,393 in our table, and prepaying when your insurer reimburses part of the bill may cost extra.
Under RBI's digital lending rules you see the all-in APR in a KFS before you commit, may exit penalty-free during the cooling-off window, keep the app away from your contacts and media, and can escalate to RBI's CMS portal if the grievance officer hasn't replied in 30 days.
