PaisaBoxx, which many people search for as PaisaBox, is a real lender. It's the lending brand of Sawalsha Leasing & Finance Private Limited, an NBFC that sits on RBI's register. So is it safe? Partly. The lender is regulated, but the website shows no interest rate, fee or tenure, so you can't judge the cost until you apply.

The one thing to check before you sign is the Key Fact Statement. It must show the APR, every fee and the money that will reach your bank. Also know this: PaisaBoxx has no mobile app. A "PaisaBox loan app" on Google Play, or an APK file sent over WhatsApp, is not the official PaisaBoxx. For ratings and the full scorecard, see our full PaisaBoxx review.

PaisaBoxx in five lines

  • Real company: PaisaBoxx is a brand of Sawalsha Leasing & Finance, a non-deposit-taking NBFC based in New Delhi.
  • RBI check: Sawalsha is entry 6601 in RBI's NBFC register as on 30 September 2026, and its CIN matches the PaisaBoxx footer.
  • No app: PaisaBoxx says it works only through its website. The "Paisa Boxx" app on Google Play is an unofficial guide from an Indonesian developer.
  • Cost unknown: loans run from ₹5,000 to ₹1,00,000, but no rate, fee or tenure is published as of October 2026.
  • Safe use: pay nothing before approval, repay only through the official website, and read the Key Fact Statement first.

Who runs PaisaBoxx, and where the money comes from

PaisaBoxx isn't a middleman. Its homepage says PaisaBoxx is simply the brand name Sawalsha uses for its own lending. The footer names the company and prints its CIN and an RBI certificate number. The office it gives is in Surya Kiran Building on Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi.

That's a cleaner setup than many loan apps, where a tech firm runs the app and a separate NBFC lends. Here the brand and the lender are one company. Sawalsha runs a few sister brands too. Its own site lists Paisaintime, ClickForMoney and CashMyPayment next to PaisaBoxx.

There is one oddity. The PaisaBoxx privacy policy talks about "Lending Partners" and a mobile app, as if PaisaBoxx were a platform for other lenders. It reads like leftover template text, and it clashes with the footer. The partners page lists only service firms such as CRIF, DigiLocker, NPCI and PayU. No co-lender is named.

Is PaisaBoxx RBI registered? Our checks, step by step

Yes, through its lender. PaisaBoxx is a brand name, so you look for the company behind it. Here's what we did on 30 October 2026. You can repeat every step yourself.

  1. Get the legal name. The PaisaBoxx footer names Sawalsha Leasing & Finance Private Limited and gives CIN U74899DL1994PTC057431.
  2. Open RBI's NBFC list. We used the list as on 30 September 2026, released on 15 October 2026. Sawalsha is entry 6601.
  3. Match the details. RBI shows the New Delhi regional office, the same CIN and the same Connaught Place address as the PaisaBoxx site. It's an Investment and Credit Company in the Base Layer, and it doesn't take deposits.
  4. Try the digital lending apps directory. RBI keeps a directory of apps used by regulated lenders. It wouldn't load for us on 30 October 2026, so we couldn't confirm a PaisaBoxx entry there.
  5. Note the certificate number. The footer shows CoR B.14.02743. RBI's list doesn't print certificate numbers, so this one can't be matched from it.
  6. Search Sachet. This RBI portal takes complaints about lenders that aren't regulated. PaisaBoxx's own fair practice code tells customers to report fake apps there.

Our searches turned up no RBI warning, penalty or police case naming PaisaBoxx, and no news story about it either. That's a clean record, though a short one.

What a PaisaBoxx loan costs, as far as anyone can tell

This is the weak spot. PaisaBoxx publishes a loan range and very little else.

Term

What PaisaBoxx publishes (October 2026)

Loan amount

₹5,000 to ₹1,00,000 (FAQ page)

Tenure

Not published; the FAQ says it is shared before you accept

Interest rate

Not published; the FAQ says it depends on your profile, amount and tenure

Processing fee

Not published; said to be shown before you confirm

Late payment charge

Not quantified (FAQ)

Foreclosure

Allowed as per loan terms; charges may apply, no figure (FAQ)

APR

Shown only in the Key Fact Statement and sanction letter (interest rate policy)

We can't give you a worked example, because there are no numbers to build one from. PaisaBoxx's interest rate policy promises a published rate chart for every product. We looked and couldn't find one. The product page just says "No features available."

The same policy contradicts itself on late payment. One line says the company doesn't charge penal interest, and the next says it does. It lists many possible charges, from processing and login fees to bounce, collection and foreclosure charges, with no amounts.

So what should you do? Apply only if you're ready to walk away. When the offer comes, look at the APR, the processing fee plus 18% GST, and the net amount you'll receive. If the numbers don't work, don't sign. The fair practice code also promises a cooling-off period, when you can exit by repaying the principal and the proportionate APR with no penalty.

Why some people think PaisaBoxx is fake

The doubt is fair, and most of it comes from a few real gaps.

  • No app anywhere. Borrowers expect a lender to have one. PaisaBoxx's disclaimer says it doesn't run any mobile application.
  • A lookalike on Play. A listing called "(Paisa Boxx) Loan App Pointer" has 10K+ downloads. It's from DJEMANGIN DEV, with an address in Jambi, Indonesia, and it says it is not a lender or a broker.
  • No prices. A lender that shows only a loan range feels hidden, even when it's regulated.
  • Mixed contact details. Different pages name different grievance officers and phone numbers. There's more on that below.
  • Wide data terms. The privacy policy covers financial SMS and phone data, reserves location tracking, and allows sharing with joint marketers. And the terms switch off your DND protection for its promotional calls.

What's normal? Asking for KYC, address proof and bank statements is standard. So is a credit check. A website-only lender isn't suspicious by itself either. What counts is that the lender is named and registered, and here it is.

What borrowers say about PaisaBoxx

There's very little to go on. With no official app, PaisaBoxx has no Play Store rating and no dated Play reviews as of October 2026.

The homepage runs a carousel of glowing testimonials about loans in an hour and helpful staff. The company picks those, so read them as marketing. We also found no complaints about PaisaBoxx in established news outlets. That's mildly reassuring, but a small web lender may simply have few public reviews.

Ignore any star rating you see next to the Paisa Boxx name on Google Play. It belongs to the unofficial guide app, which also says it shares device IDs. It tells you nothing about this lender.

How to spot a fake PaisaBoxx app, agent or call

Because PaisaBoxx has no app, the rule is simple. If someone sends you a "PaisaBox loan app" as an APK file or a store link, it is not the official PaisaBoxx. Don't install it, and don't type your Aadhaar, PAN or bank details into it.

Why does that matter so much? An APK from a chat link skips Google's checks. Once installed, it can ask to read your contacts, photos and messages. Loan scams use that access to shame and pressure people later.

Watch for these signs:

  • A fee before approval. Someone wants a "file charge", deposit or processing fee upfront. PaisaBoxx's disclaimer says it never asks for fees, deposits or prepayments before approving a loan.
  • A personal UPI ID. PaisaBoxx says repayments go only through its official website, never to personal accounts or UPI IDs.
  • No lender named. A genuine offer comes from Sawalsha Leasing & Finance and arrives with a Key Fact Statement.
  • A different web address. PaisaBoxx says it doesn't work through any other domain. Its site is paisaboxx.com, spelt with two x's.
  • Calls at odd hours. The lender's fair practice code bars recovery calls before 8 am or after 7 pm, and any harassment.

What to do if something goes wrong with PaisaBoxx

Start with the lender, in writing, so there's a record. The contacts are scattered across pages, so here's what each one says as of October 2026.

  • Support email: querypb@sawalsha.com (PaisaBoxx contact page). Sawalsha's own site also lists support@paisaboxx.com.
  • Phone: 011-4446-7882. This is Sawalsha's company line from its own site. The PaisaBoxx site itself gives no care number.
  • Hours: 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. Closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
  • First level: Ritvik Sharma, +91 7303003549, gro@paisaboxx.com (grievance policy).
  • Grievance officer: Deepika Rawat, +91 9667071855, grievance@sawalsha.com (grievance policy). The fair practice code names Divyanshi Anand instead, on +91 7428197600.

The grievance policy aims to resolve a complaint within 7 working days. No answer, or a poor one, within 30 days? Then go to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in, or call RBI on 14448. Lost money to a fake agent or app? Call the cybercrime helpline on 1930 straight away. Our PaisaBoxx customer care page keeps these contacts in one place.

Should you use PaisaBoxx?

It may suit a salaried Indian citizen over 21 with a good credit record who needs a small sum. You'd also need to be fine with a website instead of an app. And you must be willing to read every number in the offer before you sign.

Look elsewhere if you want to compare prices before you hand over KYC and bank statements. The same goes if you're self-employed, since the FAQ asks for salaried income. You may also prefer a lender with a public review record.

Regulated options with loans of a similar size include Nira, True Balance and mPokket. Read their reviews side by side with this one before you decide. You can browse every app we've checked on our loan app reviews page, or look up any lender's helpline in our customer care directory.

Frequently asked questions about PaisaBoxx

Is PaisaBoxx real or fake?

PaisaBoxx is real. It's the lending brand of Sawalsha Leasing & Finance Private Limited, and its website names that company as the lender. We found no RBI caution, police action or news report against it. The fair worry isn't fraud but cost, because rates and fees aren't published before you apply. Many people spell it PaisaBox. It's the same brand.

Is PaisaBoxx RBI registered?

PaisaBoxx is a brand, so the registration belongs to its lender. Sawalsha Leasing & Finance Private Limited appears as entry 6601 in the NBFC register RBI published for 30 September 2026. The entry shows a New Delhi NBFC that doesn't take deposits, with a CIN and address that match the PaisaBoxx footer. RBI's apps directory wouldn't load for us, so we couldn't check the brand there.

How much does a PaisaBoxx loan really cost?

Nobody can say before you apply. PaisaBoxx publishes only its loan range of ₹5,000 to ₹1,00,000. The interest rate, processing fee, tenure and late charges are all unpublished as of October 2026. The APR appears only in the Key Fact Statement and sanction letter. Read it, check how much will reach your bank after fees and GST, and say no if it's too high.

What is the PaisaBoxx customer care number?

The PaisaBoxx site lists no phone number. Sawalsha's company line, 011-4446-7882, is on Sawalsha's own website, and the PaisaBoxx contact page gives the email querypb@sawalsha.com. Support runs from 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. For a formal complaint, write to grievance@sawalsha.com. Our customer care page for PaisaBoxx lists every published contact in one place.

Is there a PaisaBoxx app on Google Play?

No. PaisaBoxx says it works only through its website and runs no mobile app. The "(Paisa Boxx) Loan App Pointer" on Google Play is an unofficial guide and calculator. It comes from DJEMANGIN DEV, an Indonesian developer, and says it isn't a lender. Two other PaisaBox apps on Play are an expense tracker and a rewards app. None of them is this lender.

What should I do about threatening calls or a fake PaisaBoxx agent?

Don't pay anyone who asks for an upfront fee or gives you a personal UPI ID. PaisaBoxx says it never takes fees before approval and accepts repayment only through its official site. Note the time and number of any abusive call, then email grievance@sawalsha.com. If you've already lost money, call 1930. You can also report fake lenders on RBI's Sachet portal.

Can I cancel or close a PaisaBoxx loan early?

Yes. The FAQ says prepayment is allowed as per your loan terms, though prepayment or foreclosure charges may apply and no amount is given. The fair practice code also promises a cooling-off period. In that window you can exit by repaying the principal and the proportionate APR, with no penalty. Ask for the exact closing amount in writing before you pay it.

Is PaisaBoxx the same as Paisabazaar or Moneyboxx?

No. PaisaBoxx is Sawalsha's lending brand. Paisabazaar is a loan marketplace, and Moneyboxx Finance is a different NBFC. The names sound alike, which is one reason people get confused. Got an offer under the PaisaBoxx or PaisaBox name? Before you accept, check that the offer letter names Sawalsha Leasing & Finance Private Limited as the lender.
