What the EaseMyTrip card is
Standard Chartered issues this Visa card with EaseMyTrip, the travel booking site, for ₹350 a year. The odd thing about it is that its best earn rate do not apply on EaseMyTrip. You get 10 reward points per ₹100 on flights and hotels booked straight on an airline's or hotel's own website, app or outlet, while EaseMyTrip and other aggregators earn the ordinary 2 per ₹100. On EaseMyTrip the card pays you through instant discounts instead.
All of Standard Chartered's cards are listed on our Standard Chartered hub.
What you should know first
- Direct bookings earn 2.5%. 10 points per ₹100 at ₹0.25 a point, and no cap on monthly.
- EaseMyTrip pays in discounts. With the card's code EMTSCB: 10% on domestic flights (up to ₹1,000) and on international flights (up to ₹5,000), 20% off hotels (a ₹5,000 limit in India and ₹10,000 abroad), and ₹125 off a bus ticket costing ₹500 or more. Each works once a month per category per card.
- The rest earns little. Everyday spends get 2 points per ₹100, which is 0.5%.
Changes since 2024
From 15 October 2024 Standard Chartered ended international lounge access, inside and outside India, and cut domestic access to 2 visits in a calendar year from 1 visit in a quarter. Late payment charges for all its cards moved to statement-balance slabs from 1 May 2024, and rent has carried a 1% fee since 2 April 2023. The card is active.
EaseMyTrip card fees and charges
₹350, and how easily it goes away
First-year and renewal fees are both ₹350, with GST extra, so ₹413 at 18% (₹350 plus ₹63). Spend ₹50,000 or more in a year and the next renewal is waived, it get reversed within 60 days of being charged. That is about ₹4,167 a month (₹50,000 divided by 12), a modest level for anybody who put regular bills on the card.
Supplementary cards aren't free here. Each costs ₹350 in the first year and at renewal, though the same ₹50,000 spend rule waives it.
Interest and late payment
Balances you carry cost 3.75% a month, an APR of 45%. The late fee depends on the statement balance, from nothing on balances up to ₹100 to ₹1,200 on balances above ₹10,000, with steps of ₹100, ₹500 and ₹700 in between, and ₹100 more get added if the Minimum Amount Due goes unpaid 2 or more months running. The minimum due itself is the highest of 5% of the statement, ₹250, or your instalments, interest, fees and over-limit amount plus 1% of the principal. GST is added to all charges.
Travel and cash charges
- Overseas transactions: a 3.5% fee, so ₹50,000 spent abroad costs ₹1,750 before GST.
- ATM cash: 3%, minimum ₹300, and interest at 3.75% a month from the day you withdraw.
- Rail bookings carry a surcharge of ₹25 or 2.5%, and petrol ₹10 or 1%, which may vary as per the acquiring bank. No fuel surcharge waiver is listed for this card.
- Rent (MCC 6513): 1% processing fee plus taxes.
- Over the limit: ₹500 a time or 2.5% of the excess, with ₹500 as the floor.
- Service charges: depositing cash for the bill at a branch is ₹299, a cheque that bounces ₹500, and paper statements ₹99 a month when you already receive e-statements. Asking for a service at the branch is ₹199, and talking with an agent on phone banking ₹49.

Points and discounts, worked out
How the points work
Each point is worth ₹0.25 in Standard Chartered's Rewards 360 catalogue. Airline and hotel bookings made directly earn 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) with no monthly cap; everything else, EaseMyTrip included, earns 2 per ₹100 (0.5%). Returned, disputed or fraudulent transactions, finance charges, fees, cash withdrawals and charge-backs earn nothing. There is no welcome gift and no milestone, which is little bit disappointing.
Points expire 2 years after you earn them, and every redemption carries a ₹99 handling and courier charge. That is the value of 396 points (₹99 divided by ₹0.25), so redeeming small balance is waste. Save up and redeem once or twice a year.
Three travellers
| Per year | Light | Typical | Heavy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everyday spends | ₹96,000 | ₹2,40,000 | ₹4,80,000 |
| Direct airline and hotel bookings | Nil | ₹48,000 | ₹1,80,000 |
| EaseMyTrip bookings, paid after discount | ₹21,600 | ₹54,000 | ₹2,84,000 |
| Points earned | 2,352 | 10,680 | 33,280 |
| Points value plus discounts | ₹2,988 | ₹12,670 | ₹44,320 |
| Renewal fee | Waived | Waived | Waived |
Light: ₹8,000 a month plus 3 domestic flights. Everyday spends of ₹96,000 a year earn 1,920 points. Each ₹8,000 EaseMyTrip fare gets 10% off, ₹800, under the ₹1,000 limit, so you pay ₹7,200, and 3 such trips earn 432 points (₹21,600 divided by 100, times 2). 2,352 points are worth ₹588, and with ₹2,400 of discounts that is ₹2,988, or ₹2,889 after one ₹99 redemption. Yearly spend cross ₹50,000, so only the first year's ₹413 is paid.
Typical: ₹20,000 a month, ₹4,000 a month booked direct with airlines, 4 hotel stays and 2 flights on EaseMyTrip. Direct bookings of ₹48,000 earn 4,800 points and everyday spends 4,800. Each ₹10,000 hotel gets 20% off, ₹2,000, and each ₹12,000 flight is capped at ₹1,000 off, so EaseMyTrip charges are ₹54,000 (4 times ₹8,000 plus 2 times ₹11,000) for 1,080 points. 10,680 points are ₹2,670, and ₹10,000 of discounts bring it to ₹12,670.
Heavy: ₹40,000 a month, ₹15,000 a month direct, 4 international flights and 2 international hotels on EaseMyTrip. Everyday spends earn 9,600 points and ₹1,80,000 of direct bookings 18,000. A ₹60,000 fare would get ₹6,000 off but the limit is ₹5,000, so you pay ₹55,000; a ₹40,000 hotel gets ₹8,000 off. ₹2,84,000 of EaseMyTrip charges (4 times ₹55,000 plus 2 times ₹32,000) earn 5,680 points. 33,280 points are ₹8,320, plus ₹36,000 discount make ₹44,320 (discounts of 4 times ₹5,000 plus 2 times ₹8,000).

Eligibility and how to apply
You need to be between 18 and 65, salaried or self-employed, with a stable monthly income. Standard Chartered gives no income figure for this card. More important is where you live: you must belong to a city or location where the bank sources cards, and credit and policy checks apply to every applicant.
Papers you will be asked for
Bring PAN, one recent passport-size photo, an identity proof such as a passport or Voter ID, and an address proof, which can be Aadhaar, a passport, a driving licence, a Voter ID, an NREGA job card or an NPR letter. For income, salaried people show their latest month's salary slip. Business owners give their latest income tax returns with the income computation or certified financials, professionals the returns, and both add proof that the business is running.
Applying
The button on this page opens the card's page on Standard Chartered's website. The bank gives an online route with video KYC for Platinum Rewards and sends Smart, Ultimate and Rewards applicants to a branch or the contact centre; our data does not say which route the EaseMyTrip card uses, so check the page or call. The phone banking line is 66014444 with your local STD code, or 080-49248444 or 044-47628444, 8 am to 8 pm, and unauthorised transactions can be reported on toll free 1800 258 6465.
What the bank looks at
Under RBI's 2025 card Directions, the bank must judge your independent financial means and the limits other lenders already give you. A credit score above 750 are generally seen as good on Experian's 300 to 900 scale. If you are turned down, the bank have to give the specific reasons in writing. The decision is Standard Chartered's alone.

Who the EaseMyTrip card suits
The card fits someone who takes three to six trips a year, compares fares, and books on EaseMyTrip when the discount makes it cheaper and direct with the airline when it doesn't. For a ₹350 fee that vanishes after ₹50,000 of spend, our typical traveller gets ₹12,670 a year, mostly from discounts. That's lot of value for a card this cheap.
For international travellers it is poor card. The forex fee is 3.5%, international lounges are gone since 15 October 2024 and no travel insurance is listed. It also does little for daily spending at 0.5%, so keep a cashback card for groceries and bills, such as Standard Chartered's Smart card for online spends. Supplementary cards also cost ₹350 unless the ₹50,000 rule waives them, so add family members only if they will use the card.
The trade-off is between two ways of booking. EaseMyTrip gives the discount but only 0.5% in points; booking direct gives 2.5% in points but no discount. On a ₹10,000 domestic hotel, 20% off beat 2.5% easily, while on a ₹12,000 flight the ₹1,000 cap leaves 8.3% (₹1,000 divided by ₹12,000), still well ahead of 2.5%. So check both prices before every booking.
Pros
- ₹350 fee, waived at a low ₹50,000 of yearly spend
- 10 points per ₹100 (2.5%) on direct airline and hotel bookings, with no monthly cap
- Instant EaseMyTrip discounts of up to ₹5,000 on international flights and ₹10,000 on international hotels
- 2 domestic lounge visits a year for primary and supplementary cardholders each
- Discounts on domestic flights, domestic hotels and buses too, once a month per category
Cons
- Only 2 points per ₹100 (0.5%) on EaseMyTrip bookings and everyday spends
- International lounge access ended on 15 October 2024
- 3.5% forex fee and no fuel surcharge waiver listed
- ₹99 charge on every reward redemption
- Supplementary cards cost ₹350 a year unless the spend waiver applies
EaseMyTrip card against other travel cards
Three cards competes for the same traveller at very different fees.
MakeMyTrip ICICI Bank
The MakeMyTrip ICICI card costs ₹999, waived at ₹3 lakh, and pays myCash worth ₹1: 6% on MakeMyTrip hotels and 3% on flights, cabs and buses there, both uncapped, and 1% on domestic spends elsewhere. Its forex markup is 0.99% until 9 November 2026 and nil from 10 November 2026. Domestic lounges need ₹75,000 of spend in the previous quarter. Our MakeMyTrip vs EaseMyTrip card comparison sets the two side by side.
Axis Bank Horizon
The Axis Bank Horizon also rewards direct airline bookings, at 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100, worth ₹1 each on Axis's chart, and 2 per ₹100 elsewhere. It costs ₹3,000 with no spend waiver but gives far more lounge access, 8 domestic visits a quarter on Visa Signature or 6 on Mastercard World, plus 2 international a quarter. Forex is same 3.5%.
Scapia Federal
The Scapia Federal card is lifetime free. Its Visa card gives 10% back in Scapia Coins on purchase of ₹20 and above, about 2% at 5 coins to ₹1, and 20% on travel booked in the Scapia app, about 4%. The November 2024 MITC hosted by Scapia shows a 0% forex markup; Federal Bank's April 2026 version could not be read, so check the current MITC. Domestic lounges need ₹20,000 of spend in a billing cycle, and Scapia's pages differ on whether Visa and RuPay spends are added together for that.
