BlinkMoney Loan App Real or Fake? Who Lends Against Your Funds

BlinkMoney is real, and its loans come from a regulated lender. The money is lent by DSP Finance Private Limited, an NBFC on RBI's register, while BlinkMoney only arranges the loan inside its app. So it isn't a fake app.

Whether it's safe for you is a different matter. Your mutual fund units back this loan. If markets drop, you may have to add units or repay early, or the lender may sell them. So before you pledge anything, find the fee and APR in the Key Fact Statement. No page we read prints either as a fixed figure. For scores and a full breakdown, see our full BlinkMoney review.

The short version

  • Is it a real company? Yes. Capline Ventures Private Limited runs BlinkMoney, and Google Play shows it as the developer.
  • Who gives the loan? DSP Finance Private Limited. RBI's register, in its 30 September 2026 edition, has it at serial 2042.
  • What kind of loan is it? A credit line against mutual fund units held in your own name. It is not a personal loan.
  • Rate: DSP Finance says 9% to 15% a year. BlinkMoney's borrow page shows 9.99%.
  • Biggest risk: if your funds fall in value, a margin call can follow. Ignore it, and the lender may sell what you pledged.

Who is behind BlinkMoney, and where the money comes from

BlinkMoney is a brand of Capline Ventures Private Limited, a company based in Thane, Maharashtra. Its corporate ID number carries the year 2024, so it's a young firm. The company says it's an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor, with ARN 330047.

Most of the app is about investing. You set up a daily SIP into a multi-asset fund, starting from small amounts. The loan sits in a separate Borrow section. Oddly, the site once led with loans. An Internet Archive copy from September 2025 shows it billed as an instant loan app against mutual funds.

The lender is DSP Finance Private Limited. Its website calls it the NBFC arm of the DSP group, and its privacy policy says it was once DSP Investment Managers Private Limited.

BlinkMoney's job is narrower. Its terms call it a lending service provider. It finds customers, onboards them, services loans and handles support for DSP Finance, which approves and pays out each loan. In return, the lender pays BlinkMoney a sourcing fee and may share the processing fee with it.

Is BlinkMoney RBI registered? Checks you can do yourself

You won't find BlinkMoney on RBI's NBFC list. That's expected, since an app that only arranges loans needs no NBFC licence. The licence that counts belongs to DSP Finance. We ran these checks on 4 November 2026.

  1. Get the RBI register. RBI publishes a PDF of every registered NBFC. Ours was dated 15 October 2026, with data up to 30 September 2026.
  2. Look up DSP Finance. You'll find DSP Finance Private Limited at serial 2042, under RBI's Mumbai office. RBI files it as an ICC (investment and credit) firm in the Middle Layer. It takes no public deposits.
  3. Compare the CIN. RBI's row reads U64920MH1996PTC099483. DSP Finance prints that same CIN in its website footer, next to registration certificate N13.02486.
  4. Skip the lookalike rows. Entry 2043 is DSP Gilt Private Limited, a separate DSP group company. It isn't the lender here.
  5. See if the lender names the app. DSP Finance's Our Partners page lists Blink Money, with Capline Ventures as the company and the same Play package.
  6. Search RBI's directory of lending apps. It wouldn't open for us, so BlinkMoney's listing there stays unconfirmed.
  7. Read the KFS before you accept. It should name DSP Finance as your lender. If it names anyone else, stop.

If you've never used these lists, this step-by-step RBI check walks through each one. A web search on 4 November 2026 found no RBI penalty notice against DSP Finance. That wasn't a full search of RBI's records, though.

How interest works. You pay interest only on the money you actually draw, not on your whole limit. DSP Finance says it builds up daily and is billed monthly. Interest payments don't cut the principal, so plan how you'll repay the main amount.

A worked example. BlinkMoney's own calculator shows ₹10,000 for 30 days at 9.99% costing ₹82.11 in interest. Using the same formula, ₹1,00,000 drawn for 90 days comes to about ₹2,463, or roughly ₹821 a month. Fees, stamp duty and taxes are extra.

Why the fee cap matters. "Whichever is higher" means the cap grows with your limit. On a ₹1,00,000 limit, 5% is ₹5,000, so the ₹10,000 figure is the ceiling. On a ₹10,00,000 limit, the cap becomes ₹50,000. The same cap applies to the yearly maintenance charge, and DSP Finance says charges can go past the range in exceptional cases.

Late dues get costly. The daily penal charge climbs with the amount overdue, up to ₹10,000 a day above ₹1 crore. Rates are also linked to RBI's repo rate, which BlinkMoney's news page says rose to 5.50% on 7 October 2026.

Why BlinkMoney can look suspicious

We found nothing that makes BlinkMoney fake. A few things can still make a careful borrower uneasy.

  • The store listing hardly looks like a loan app. On Play it's called BlinkMoney: Simple Daily SIP, and the description never mentions loans. That leaves open how many users can actually borrow today.
  • Some lender links were broken. When we clicked through on 4 November 2026, three links from BlinkMoney to DSP Finance failed. The fee schedule, partner list and complaints page all exist on DSP Finance's site, just at other addresses.
  • Two names for one job. BlinkMoney's page lists Mr. Nikhil Vibhuti as DSP Finance's grievance officer. DSP Finance's contact page names Nishant Athmakoori. Both use the same email address.
  • Fees come as caps, not prices. You won't know your exact fee until the KFS appears.
  • Data access. The privacy policy lets the app read financial SMS and your Gmail, with consent, for investment features. Play's Data safety section doesn't list messages. On the plus side, BlinkMoney says its lending side never touches your contacts, call logs or files.

Other things are normal here. Pledging units, margin calls, digital KYC and a credit report check all come with a loan against mutual funds.

What users say about the BlinkMoney app

As of 4 November 2026, the Play listing shows 4.8 stars from 99 reviews and 10K+ downloads. The App Store rating is also 4.8, from 13 ratings.

The reviews are almost all about investing. People like the clean design, small daily SIPs and helpful support staff. One reviewer had login trouble that support fixed in 2 to 3 days. We didn't find a single review describing a loan, and two reviewers, in May and September 2026, asked the company to add credit features.

The only recent 1-star review, from 30 September 2026, says a redemption wasn't processed at the price of the day requested. BlinkMoney replied that the order came in at 3:14 PM, after the 3 PM cut-off, so the next day's price applied.

Treat the score with some care. Ten 5-star reviews arrived on 1 July 2026 alone, and many reviews are one or two words. With a small base, a burst like that moves the rating a lot.

How to spot a fake BlinkMoney app, agent or call

Run these checks before you share anything.

  • Get it from the official stores only. The Play developer is Capline Ventures Private Limited, and the package is app.blinkmoney.in. Ignore APK files sent on WhatsApp or by text.
  • No upfront fee. BlinkMoney's terms say it charges nothing outside the KFS and never takes cash. Anyone asking you to pay a fee to a personal UPI ID first isn't BlinkMoney.
  • Your OTP stays with you. BlinkMoney's FAQ tells users never to share an OTP, UPI PIN or password.
  • A real loan needs your units. The pledge is marked through CAMS or KFintech on funds in your own name. If someone offers a loan with no pledge, it isn't this product.
  • Know the real contacts. The support line is +91 90043 11470, and email goes to support@blinkmoney.in. Play's developer block also shows +91 91796 62601, so check any other number before trusting it.

Something went wrong? Here's who to contact

Save screenshots of your KFS, pledge and payments first.

  1. Support first. WhatsApp or call +91 90043 11470, or email support@blinkmoney.in. The terms promise a reply within 48 hours and a fix within 7 working days.
  2. Grievance officer. If nothing moves in 3 business days, email grievance@blinkmoney.in. It reaches Rishabh Roy, who is also the CEO, and his direct line is +91 77150 85991. The terms give him 15 working days to respond.
  3. The lender. Loan problems can go to DSP Finance at grievance.officer@dspfin.com, or to its nodal officer, Mr. Sahib Pahwa, at nodalofficer@dspfin.com. DSP Finance's phone, 022-41484529, works 9 AM to 5 PM on business days.
  4. RBI. No answer that fixes it within 30 days? File with the RBI Integrated Ombudsman. Use its portal, cms.rbi.org.in, or dial 14448.
  5. Fraud. Lost money to a fake agent, or getting threats? Ring 1930, the national cybercrime line, the same day.

BlinkMoney's escalation matrix points only to SEBI, which handles investment complaints, though its terms do name RBI. For loans, use the RBI route. Every contact above is on our BlinkMoney customer care page.

Should you borrow through BlinkMoney?

It can make sense if:

  • you already hold eligible mutual funds in your own name and need cash for a short gap
  • you're a freelancer or business owner without salary slips, since your limit rests on holdings
  • you can repay from income, without counting on markets to bail you out

Think twice if:

  • you don't own mutual funds, or only small amounts
  • a sharp market fall would leave you unable to add units or repay fast
  • you want to know the exact fee before you sign up

If a pledge doesn't suit you, compare regulated options. Muthoot FinCorp is also a secured loan, but against gold at a branch. Tata Capital and IDFC FIRST Bank offer personal loans that need no collateral, so a market fall can't force a sale. You can browse more in our loan app reviews.

Frequently asked questions

Is BlinkMoney real or fake?

BlinkMoney is real. Capline Ventures Private Limited runs it, and DSP Finance Private Limited, an NBFC registered with RBI, puts up the money. DSP Finance's own partner page lists BlinkMoney as its lending service provider. Bear in mind that the app is mostly for SIPs. Its loan is a credit line secured on your funds.

Is BlinkMoney RBI registered?

BlinkMoney doesn't lend, so it holds no NBFC licence of its own. Its lender does. DSP Finance Private Limited appears at serial 2042 of RBI's September 2026 register, in the Middle Layer. RBI's app directory wouldn't load on 4 November 2026. Before you accept, check that your KFS names DSP Finance as the lender.

What is the BlinkMoney loan interest rate?

DSP Finance puts its rates at 9% to 15% a year. Where you land depends on what you pledge and on its own checks. BlinkMoney's borrow page shows 9.99%. Interest is charged only on the amount you draw. The processing fee and APR aren't printed as fixed figures, so read both in the Key Fact Statement before you pledge.

What is the BlinkMoney customer care number?

The support number is +91 90043 11470, and it also works on WhatsApp, which BlinkMoney calls its fastest channel. Email support@blinkmoney.in for anything else. Formal complaints go to grievance@blinkmoney.in, or to +91 77150 85991. Our customer care page lists DSP Finance's officers too.

Does BlinkMoney harass borrowers or make fake calls?

We found no harassment reports in recent Play reviews, though none we read describe a loan at all. Its terms say overdue loans may bring calls, texts, WhatsApp messages, letters or visits, under RBI's fair practices code. You also agree to service calls even if your number is on the Do Not Call list. Any caller asking for an upfront fee isn't BlinkMoney.

How do I close a BlinkMoney loan and get my units back?

Repay the full amount you owe, including interest and any charges. DSP Finance then releases the lien, typically within 1 to 3 working days, and your units are free to redeem again. Changed your mind early? Inside the cooling-off window you can leave penalty-free, paying back what you drew plus APR for those days. Individuals pay no prepayment charge.

Can BlinkMoney sell my mutual funds?

Only the lender can, and only under the loan agreement. Say markets slide and your borrowing grows too large next to the units' value. DSP Finance will then ask you to add units or pay part of the loan back. Miss that deadline, and it may cash in your pledged units at that day's price, which can mean a loss and a tax bill.

Do I need a CIBIL score for a BlinkMoney loan?

BlinkMoney says there's no credit score requirement, because your funds set the limit. Its privacy policy still lets it fetch your credit report when you apply. DSP Finance says checking eligibility and pledging funds generally don't affect your score, but missed repayments can be reported to credit bureaus.
