BrightLoans App Real or Fake? Who Lends and What It Really Costs

BrightLoans is a real app, and its current lender is Avinash Capital Markets Private Limited, an NBFC registered with RBI. The app itself is run by Vimanotech India, whose listing says plainly that BrightLoans is not a lender. So "Bright Loans" is not a fake app with nobody behind it. Every check here was made on 30 October 2026.

The harder question is whether it treats borrowers fairly, since Play promises 61 to 365 days at 35% a year. Yet the lender's pricing policy, and plenty of 2026 reviews, point to loans of about a month that cost far more. Before you accept, find the tenure in the Key Fact Statement (KFS). If it is under 61 days, the loan is not what the listing describes.

The short answer

  • Is it real? Yes. BrightLoans is a digital lending app on Google Play with over 10 lakh downloads, run by Vimanotech India.
  • Who lends? Avinash Capital Markets, entry 819 on RBI's NBFC list as on 30 September 2026. The website also names Unifinz Capital India as a lender.
  • Is it RBI registered? The lenders are. Apps are not registered by RBI, and we could not open RBI's directory of lending apps to confirm the listing.
  • The price gap: the listing shows a 35% APR. Avinash's own rate policy goes as high as 487% a year for loans of 7 to 45 days.
  • Biggest complaint: recovery calls to relatives and references, reported again and again in 2026 reviews.

The company and the lenders behind BrightLoans

Three names come up, and each has a different job. Vimanotech India Private Limited builds and runs the app as a loan service provider. Avinash Capital Markets Private Limited, a Kolkata NBFC, funds the loans. The website lists Unifinz Capital India as a second lender, with RBI licence 14.00233.

The lender's side confirms the link. Avinash Capital's own page of service providers lists Vimanotech and BrightLoans, for customer acquisition and recovery.

Its digital lending policy goes further and calls "brightloans" its brand name. RBI's list even gives the NBFC's contact email at a brightloans.in address. That is about as tight a tie as you will see.

The paperwork is less tidy. The website footer still says Dev-Aashish Capital Private Limited runs BrightLoans lending, while the copyright line names Avinash.

Play pages saved in February and April 2026 named Dev-Aashish as the operator and Vrinda Finlease Limited as the developer. Dev-Aashish is also an RBI-registered NBFC, so this looks like a change of owner, not a trick. Still, it explains why borrowers get confused.

One more thing. BrightLoans is not BharatLoan, which is a different app with a similar name.

Is BrightLoans RBI approved? Our five-step check

RBI keeps lists of lenders, not of apps. So "RBI approved" really means the lender behind the app holds an RBI licence. Here is how we tested that, in an order you can follow on your phone.

  1. Read the lender's name in the app listing. The Play listing names Avinash Capital Markets Pvt. Ltd. as the current lending partner, with certificate number 05.00580.
  2. Find that lender on RBI's NBFC list. In the list as on 30 September 2026, Avinash Capital Markets is entry 819, under RBI's Kolkata office. It does not take public deposits. Unifinz is entry 7932 and Dev-Aashish is entry 1868.
  3. Match the certificate. Avinash Capital shows its certificate of registration on its own website. It was issued by RBI in Calcutta on 3 March 1998.
  4. Look for the app on the lender's site. Avinash Capital's service provider page lists BrightLoans by name. If a lender stays silent about an app, ask why.
  5. Try RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory. This lists the apps each lender reports to RBI. It timed out for us on 30 October 2026, so that entry remains unchecked. Try it before you borrow.

If someone offers a "BrightLoans" loan outside the app, report it on Sachet, RBI's portal for unauthorised lending and deposit schemes. Do not share documents or OTPs with them.

BrightLoans interest, fees and APR

This is where the story splits in two. The app's listing and rate page describe a modest yearly loan. The website calculator and the lender's own policy describe a short payday loan.

Penal interest, no grace period (policy)

The listing gives a worked example. Borrow ₹50,000 for 365 days at 35%. The fee is ₹1,000 plus ₹180 GST, so ₹48,820 reaches you. You then pay ₹4,998 a month, or ₹59,978 in all.

Borrowers tell a very different story. One reviewer in June 2026 got about ₹28,000 and was asked for ₹44,200 within a month. That is ₹16,200 more in a few weeks.

Another took ₹42,000 for one month and was told to repay ₹60,000. Several reviews mention a 10% fee, 1% interest a day and a 2% daily penalty.

The lender's policy, approved on 15 September 2025, matches the reviews, not the listing. Google Play bars personal loans that must be repaid in 60 days or less. The BrightLoans listing even cites that rule. So a one-month offer is a mismatch you should take seriously.

The reasons people call BrightLoans fake

Nobody we found has shown BrightLoans to be a scam. We found no RBI caution, police case or news report naming it. But borrowers have good reasons to feel misled.

  • Short loans: reviews describe 23-day and one-month loans, below the 61-day minimum on the listing.
  • Price shock: a 35% headline rate next to reports of 1% a day.
  • Money not arriving: a reviewer on 25 October 2026 said the app promised payment in 10 minutes. Nearly a day later, nothing had arrived.
  • Changed bank details: one review from 8 September 2026 says the repayment account changed to someone else's name. Treat that as a reason to double-check every payment.
  • Mixed-up owners: the footer, the copyright line and old Play pages name different companies.
  • Data claims that clash: Play's Data safety section says no data is collected. The same page lists seven kinds of data shared, including SMS and installed apps.

What is normal: a tech firm running the app while an NBFC lends is allowed. A change of lending partner can happen too. The problem is that the public terms haven't caught up with the loans people actually get.

BrightLoans reviews on Google Play

On 30 October 2026, BrightLoans showed 4.3 stars from 11.8K reviews and 10L+ downloads. The app was last updated on 18 September 2026. That average looks healthy, but the detail behind it does not.

The newest 600 reviews we pulled were all from 22 to 29 October 2026. Of those, 548 were five stars and 48 were one star.

Many five-star posts were short and generic, and 157 trailed off with dots. On 28 October alone, 249 five-star reviews appeared. That burst does not look like normal use.

Older patterns raise the same worry. One five-star text about hunting for flats and rent agreements appeared at least five times between March and April 2026. It has nothing to do with loans.

The reviews other users rated most helpful are mostly one star. Common themes are short tenures, high deductions and repeated calls at work. Others describe calls to relatives and to references even after the loan was closed. A few happy borrowers praise quick credit and a simple app.

Fake BrightLoans calls, agents and apps: how to tell

Some trouble comes from the app, and some from people pretending to be it. Use these checks.

  • Only one real app. The genuine one is published by Vimanotech India on Google Play. An APK link on WhatsApp or SMS is not it.
  • No upfront fees. The listing says the processing fee is cut from the payout. Paying money to "release" a loan is a scam sign.
  • Pay only inside the app. Given the review about changed account details, never pay a personal UPI ID or a name you don't recognise. Ask care to confirm in writing first.
  • Know the official numbers. BrightLoans care is +91-8800041445. Avinash Capital's care line is +91-8448894798.
  • Recovery has rules. Avinash Capital's fair practice code bars bothering borrowers at odd hours. Note the time and number of every abusive call.

Where to complain about BrightLoans

Work up this ladder. Put each complaint in writing so there is a date on record.

  1. BrightLoans care: +91-8800041445 or care@brightloans.in. The contact page also lists WhatsApp on +91 7669181627.
  2. The lender's care team: Avinash Capital at +91-8448894798 or care@avinashcapital.com.
  3. Grievance officer: Rajat Sharma, +91-9911784545, rajat.sharma@brightloans.in. BrightLoans' partner page names Jitender Yadav instead, on +91-9811041592. Write to both if one stays silent.
  4. Wait for the reply. The lender says it tries to settle complaints within 30 days.
  5. Go to RBI. No fix after 30 days? Complain online at cms.rbi.org.in, or ring 14448, the RBI Integrated Ombudsman line.
  6. Threats or fraud: dial 1930 for cybercrime, and file a police complaint if contacts are being threatened.

Our BrightLoans customer care page keeps these contacts in one place. Check there before you call, since the app and the lender use different numbers.

Is BrightLoans right for you?

It could work for a salaried borrower who needs a small sum, reads the KFS closely and can repay the full amount on time. If the KFS shows 61 days or more at the listed rate, the loan matches the advert. If it shows a month at a daily rate, you are looking at a payday loan.

Give it a miss if you need time to repay, or if a late payment would snowball. The lender's policy allows no grace period. Skip it too if you don't want your SMS data and installed app list shared.

FAQs about BrightLoans

Is BrightLoans real or fake?

BrightLoans is real: it is a Google Play app run by Vimanotech India. Its loans come from Avinash Capital Markets, an NBFC that RBI's register showed on 30 September 2026. We found no RBI caution or police case against it. The concern is fairness: reviews describe much shorter and costlier loans than the listing advertises.

Is BrightLoans registered with RBI?

RBI registers lenders, and BrightLoans' lender is registered. Avinash Capital Markets Private Limited is entry 819 on RBI's NBFC list as on 30 September 2026, with certificate 05.00580. The website also names Unifinz Capital India, another registered NBFC. We could not open RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory on 30 October 2026 to see the app's own entry.

What is the real interest rate on BrightLoans?

On Play, the app lists a 35% APR over 61 to 365 days. Avinash Capital's interest rate policy tells another story: up to 487% a year, for 7 to 45 days. The website calculator shows 0.25% a day and a fee of up to 10%. Borrowers report 1% a day, and only your KFS shows your true rate.

What is the BrightLoans customer care number?

BrightLoans customer care is +91-8800041445, and the email is care@brightloans.in. The lender, Avinash Capital, has its own care line on +91-8448894798. For unresolved complaints, write to grievance officer Rajat Sharma at rajat.sharma@brightloans.in. If 30 days pass without a fix, complain to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman on 14448.

What should I do if BrightLoans agents call my relatives?

Ask the agent for their name and company, then end the call. Complain in writing to BrightLoans and to the grievance officer, with dates and numbers. Avinash Capital's own code bars harassing borrowers at odd hours. For threats, call 1930 and go to the police, and after 30 days take it to the RBI Ombudsman.

Can I repay a BrightLoans loan early?

Yes, the Play listing and rate page both say prepayment charges are nil. One reviewer said interest kept running on the original amount after a part payment. So ask care for the exact closing amount in writing. Pay it in full inside the app, then save the no-dues message once the loan shows as closed.

Why does my BrightLoans offer show only one month?

The lender's own policy offers loans of 7 to 45 days, repaid in one go. The Play listing, though, says BrightLoans does not offer loans of 60 days or less. If your KFS shows a month, you are being offered the lender's short product. You can decline it, and you can report the mismatch to Google Play.
