Capital Now Loan App Real or Fake? Who Lends and What It Costs
By Rashmi Mandana · Content Writer Edited by BankCreds Content & SEO Team Updated 4 November 2026 Reviewed by BankCreds Financial Experts Capital Now is a real loan app. Its loans are made mainly by Goldline Finance Private Limited, a New Delhi NBFC on RBI's register. A Hyderabad firm, Finxer Technologies, runs the app and arranges the loans.
So it isn't fake. Whether it's a fair deal is another question. Before accepting any offer, open the Key Fact Statement. Check which lender it names and what the loan costs in rupees. Capital Now's own sample charges interest on the full amount for the whole term.
Quick answer: is Capital Now genuine?
- Is the company real? Yes. Finxer Technologies Private Limited runs the app and website from Hyderabad.
- Is there a regulated lender? Yes. Goldline Finance is serial 2684 in RBI's NBFC register as on 30 September 2026. Its own website names Capital Now as its app.
- Who else lends? The Play listing also names Anu Colonisers Limited, serial 523 in the same list. We couldn't find a website where it confirms the tie.
- Is it cheap? Not really. The sample is ₹50,000 for 6 months with ₹6,000 interest, a ₹2,500 fee plus ₹450 GST, and an APR of 36.30%.
- Anything to watch? Yes. One partner claim doesn't check out and the Data safety form is thin. Many reviews look prompted, and some describe recovery calls to family.
The company behind Capital Now, and the lenders it uses
Capital Now's terms say the website and app are "owned and operated by Finxer Technologies Private Limited". Its privacy policy calls Finxer a Loan Service Provider, or LSP. Finxer finds borrowers, checks their papers and runs the app. A licensed NBFC signs the loan with you and puts up the money.
That NBFC is mainly Goldline Finance. On its Digital Lending Partner page, Goldline calls "Finxer Technologies Pvt Ltd" its lending service provider, with "Capital Now" shown as the digital app. A second page lists the jobs Goldline hands to Finxer, from finding customers and KYC help to collection and recoveries and customer support.
So a Capital Now caller chasing a missed EMI is acting for Goldline. Every Goldline page footer says "Our Digital Lending Platform Agent: Capital Now".
The second lender is less clear. Anu Colonisers Limited is a real NBFC in RBI's register, under the New Delhi office. Its listed contact is a Gmail address and a web domain in its name is parked. We found nowhere that it names Capital Now.
There's also a third name. Capital Now's home page shows Credit Saison India as a partner, yet Credit Saison's own partner page lists many apps but not this one. Treat that claim as unconfirmed.
Is Capital Now RBI registered? How we checked
RBI licenses lenders, not apps. So ask two things. Is the named lender on RBI's register, and does it claim the app? We ran these checks on 4 November 2026, and each works on a phone.
- Find the lender names. Scroll the Capital Now Play description down to "Our Lending Partners". You'll see Goldline Finance Private Limited and Anu Colonisers Limited.
- Open RBI's NBFC register. Download the latest PDF from RBI's website and search for "Goldline". In the register as on 30 September 2026 it's serial 2684, takes no public deposits and is classed "ICC".
- Search the second name. Anu Colonisers shows up at serial 523. Finxer isn't in the register at all, and that's normal for an LSP.
- Visit the lender's site. Goldline's partner page names both Finxer and Capital Now. That's the strongest sign the tie is genuine.
- Check RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory. The page was down when we tried, so the app's entry there is unconfirmed. Give it a go yourself.
- Compare with your KFS. The lender on it should be Goldline Finance or Anu Colonisers. Any other name is a reason to walk away and report it on Sachet.

What a Capital Now loan costs
There's no full price list. Here's what Capital Now's listings and Goldline's policies say, as of November 2026.
Term | What is published | Where we read it |
|---|---|---|
Loan amount | Up to ₹1,50,000; Goldline says from ₹5,000 | Play listing; Goldline's personal loan page |
Tenure | 3 to 6 months | Play listing and home page |
Interest | From 1.5% a month; the home page says 9.9% a year onwards | Play listing; home page |
Processing fee | ₹2,500 plus ₹450 GST on a ₹50,000 loan | Play sample |
APR | 36.30% in the sample, up to 41.08% | Play listing |
Late payment | ₹25 or 0.15% of the EMI a day (whichever is higher), plus ₹150 or 1% on day 7 | Goldline's interest and charges policy |
Paying off early | No pre-closure charge | FAQ page and Play listing |
Here's the sample in plain words. You borrow ₹50,000 for 6 months at "24% p.a.". That means six EMIs of ₹9,333, total interest of ₹6,000 and ₹56,000 paid back.
Look closely at that ₹6,000. It's exactly 24% of ₹50,000 for half a year. That means interest is charged on the full amount every month, even after you've paid part of it back. On a normal reducing balance at 24%, the EMI would be about ₹8,926 instead.
If the fee and GST come off the payout, you'd get ₹47,050 in hand and still repay ₹56,000. That's ₹8,950 of cost on six months of credit. Capital Now's own figure for the APR is 36.30%.
On a ₹9,333 EMI, 0.15% is about ₹14, so the ₹25 daily charge applies. Be a week late and you'd owe ₹175 in daily charges plus the ₹150 one-time fee, so ₹325 on top of interest.
The rate wording also shifts between pages. Play says 1.5% a month, the home page 9.9% a year, the FAQ data 12% APR. Go by the APR in your KFS.
Why some people think Capital Now is fake
Some doubts are just how digital lending works. Others are real gaps.
Normal, not a warning sign:
- The lender's name differs from the app's name. That's how every LSP app works.
- The app asks for PAN, Aadhaar, a selfie and an auto-debit mandate. Licensed lenders ask for these too.
Real gaps worth knowing:
- An overstated lender claim. Capital Now's Responsible Lending page calls Goldline "a systemically important NBFC". But RBI's register files Goldline under the "Base" layer. Goldline's loan pricing policy even cites RBI directions meant for NBFCs that aren't systemically important.
- A partner that doesn't confirm it. Credit Saison appears on the home page but not on its own partner list.
- A thin privacy form. Google's Data safety box for the app declares collecting only "Device or other IDs". The privacy policy lists far more, including PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, photos and approximate location.
- Mixed signals on phone access. The Play description mentions SMS and storage. The permission list we saw shows location, camera and microphone, but no SMS or contacts.
- Fees paid to the app company. The terms say some fees are "payable by you to the Company" for processing. RBI's 2025 digital lending rules say an LSP's fees must be paid by the lender, not taken from borrowers.
- A Gmail support address. Play gives a Gmail inbox as the support email, while the website uses support@capitalnow.in.
None of this makes the app a scam. It does mean you should read the loan papers rather than the marketing.
What borrowers say about Capital Now
On 4 November 2026, Capital Now showed 4.7 stars from 10,646 ratings on Google Play, with 10L+ downloads. The app was last updated on 24 October 2026. The App Store shows 4.3 from 3.7k ratings.
The score flatters the app. Of the 600 newest reviews, from 9 October to 2 November 2026, 565 gave five stars. But 275 of those are three words or fewer, like "nice app". Some repeat the same sentence or copy the app's own description, and one one-star review just says "Task Complete". That looks like prompted reviewing, so don't lean on the stars.
The longer reviews tell a mixed story:
- Praise: paperless KYC, quick payouts once approved, and a helpful assigned manager.
- Slow approvals: one October reviewer had ₹11,000 approved in a medical emergency, but it stayed "under review". Another was still waiting after 24 hours.
- Setup problems: a September reviewer saw a ₹20,000 limit, spent 5 days on checks, then couldn't finish eNACH.
- Credit report issues: several say closed loans weren't updated on CIBIL. One saw a single loan listed twice, under Goldline and Anu Colonisers.
- Recovery calls: a July 2026 reviewer says agents were abusive and called his wife. An August reviewer says they rang friends and relatives.
Replies to complaints are nearly always one template pointing you to email.
How to spot a fake Capital Now app, agent or call
Scammers borrow the names of real apps. Here's how to stay safe.
- Install only from the stores. The Play package is com.capitalnowapp.mobile, and "About the developer" shows Finxer Technologies Private Limited. Never install a Capital Now APK sent on WhatsApp or by SMS.
- Never pay to get a loan. Capital Now's FAQ says the processing fee is set out in the loan agreement. Anyone asking for a "file charge" before disbursal is a scammer.
- Repay only through the app or auto-debit. EMIs are debited from your own bank account on a fixed date. A request to pay a personal UPI ID is a red flag.
- Ignore WhatsApp "legal notices". Capital Now says real legal letters come on company letterhead, never with government logos.
- Check the number. The number on its app listings is 7075463172, and the grievance officer's is 7207771930. If someone calls from another number, hang up and call back on a listed one.
Problems with a Capital Now loan? Where to complain
Begin with Capital Now itself, and have your Loan ID handy. It asks for that ID in every message.
- Email support@capitalnow.in. Capital Now says it replies within 2 business days and aims to fix most issues within 10 business days, or 30 for fraud.
- Escalate to the grievance officer. Akshitha Shetty handles Level 1 on 7207771930, Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.
- Go to the nodal officer. Mahathi Cholasamudram handles Level 2 at grievance@capitalnow.in or 7032790066.
- Write to the lender. Goldline Finance's nodal officer, Neha Pallav, is at grievance@goldlinefinance.in or 7386103096.
- Then go to RBI. No answer within 30 days, or a poor one? Take it to RBI's Integrated Ombudsman. Complaints go in online at cms.rbi.org.in, and the helpline is 14448.
- Report threats at once. For fraud, morphed photos or threats, call the cybercrime helpline 1930 and go to the police.
All the numbers and timings are on our Capital Now customer care page.
Should you use Capital Now?
It can work for a narrow group. Think of salaried people on ₹22,000 a month or more who need a small sum for up to six months. No pre-closure charge helps if you plan to repay early.
Look elsewhere if you need more than ₹1,50,000 or longer than 6 months. Self-employed people won't qualify, since Capital Now asks for a salary. And if you want a clear reducing-balance rate up front, a bigger app may suit you better.
Get a quote from one or two other regulated apps first. CASHe and LendingPlate also lend short term to salaried people. KreditBee is a larger option for small personal loans. Compare the APR and total repayment in rupees, not the headline rate.

Frequently asked questions
Is Capital Now a real or fake loan app?
Capital Now is real. Finxer Technologies Private Limited runs the app from Hyderabad, and the loans come from Goldline Finance, an NBFC registered with RBI. Goldline's own website names Capital Now as its app. Being real doesn't make every offer a good one, so read your Key Fact Statement before you accept.
Is Capital Now approved by RBI?
RBI doesn't approve apps. It registers lenders. Capital Now's main lender, Goldline Finance Private Limited, is serial 2684 in RBI's list of NBFCs as on 30 September 2026. The app also names Anu Colonisers Limited, serial 523. Finxer, the app company, is a loan service provider and isn't on the list, which is normal.
What is the real interest rate on a Capital Now loan?
The sample on Play says 24% a year, but the ₹6,000 interest on ₹50,000 over six months is charged on the full amount. Worked out on a falling balance, that's about 40.05% a year. With the fee, the app puts the APR at 36.30% and says it can reach 41.08%. Your KFS has the exact figure.
What is the Capital Now customer care number?
The Play and App Store listings give 7075463172. The grievance officer, Akshitha Shetty, is on 7207771930 from Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. Most issues go by email to support@capitalnow.in, so mention your Loan ID. The contact page lists only email addresses.
What if Capital Now agents harass me or call my family?
Write it down: dates, numbers and what was said. Complain to support@capitalnow.in, then to the nodal officer at grievance@capitalnow.in, and copy Goldline Finance. Goldline's fair practices code rules out harassment and visits before 7 am or after 8 pm. For threats or morphed photos, call 1930 and go to the police.
Can I cancel or close a Capital Now loan early?
Yes. Within the first 3 days after the payout, the terms let you exit by repaying the principal and the proportionate APR, with no penalty. After that, Capital Now says there are zero pre-closure or foreclosure charges. Ask for a closure letter, then confirm your credit report marks the account closed.
Is CapitalNow the same app as Capital Now?
Yes. The company writes both spellings. "Capital Now" appears in the app title and most of its copy, and "CapitalNow" appears in its developer name and site data. Both point to the same Play app from Finxer Technologies. If an app has a different developer name, it isn't theirs.
