Credfin Loan App Real or Fake? A Real NBFC Channel With Gaps

Credfin is a real loan app, and the lender behind it is Arham Finance & Investment Services Limited, which appears in RBI's register of NBFCs. The company that runs the app, Credfin Services Private Limited, doesn't lend at all. It works as a loan service provider for that NBFC.

So Credfin is not fake. Safe is a separate question, and there the app has real gaps in data use, complaint handling and pricing. Before you apply, make sure your Key Fact Statement names the NBFC and shows the true APR. The app's own example costs far more than the 36% it advertises.

Credfin at a glance

  • Is the company real? Yes. Credfin Services Private Limited is based in Daryaganj, New Delhi, and publishes the app on Google Play.
  • Is the lender registered? Yes. Arham Finance appears at serial 597 in RBI's NBFC register for 30 September 2026, under the New Delhi office.
  • Is it cheap? No. Its own example charges flat interest of 36% a year plus a fee, which we estimate at an APR of about 76%.
  • What about your data? Credfin's privacy policy covers your phonebook, all your SMS and your location in the background. Google Play's Data safety form says nothing is collected.
  • Any warning signs from users? Yes. Recent reviews describe abusive recovery calls, double EMI debits and threats to send morphed photos to contacts.

Who runs Credfin, and whose money you borrow

Credfin's own terms are blunt about its role. They say Credfin "is not an organization registered with the Reserve Bank of India" and is "merely a facilitator". In plain words, Credfin signs you up, and a licensed NBFC lends.

The lender confirms this on its own website. Arham Finance's terms say Arham "is the sole lender" and that it has appointed Credfin Services as its Loan Service Provider. Its personal loan page even tells you to "download the Cred Fin App".

The two firms even share an address. Arham Finance's corporate office is in the same Daryaganj building, on the same floor, as Credfin's registered office. Credfin's Play listing also gives an Arham Finance email address for app support.

There's a wrinkle. The Play listing and the "Our Partner" page name only Arham Finance. But Credfin's homepage lists two further lenders, Shakambari Trading in Kolkata and Sanyog Finlease in New Delhi. Sanyog's own website says it works "in Partnership with Credfin". Shakambari's website wouldn't open for us on 4 November 2026, because its security certificate had expired.

Don't mix Credfin up with Credifin Limited, once called PHF Leasing. That's a different NBFC with no link to this app.

Is Credfin RBI registered? Our checks, step by step

An app can't be on RBI's register. Only lenders can, so you need two answers: is the lender registered, and does that lender call the app its partner? We ran these checks in November 2026, and you can repeat each one.

  1. Find the lender's name. The Play listing names Arham Finance & Investment Services as its NBFC. Credfin's partner page adds the address, 483/24, Prahalad Street, Ansari Road, Daryaganj.
  2. Search RBI's register of NBFCs. Get the register from RBI's website and search for "Arham Finance". You'll find it at serial 597 in the edition dated 30 September 2026.
  3. Compare the entry. It lists the New Delhi regional office, says the firm takes no public deposits and puts it in the ICC class. Its address is the one on Credfin's partner page.
  4. Look for the lender's own confirmation. Arham Finance's terms name Credfin Services as its loan service provider. That's the strongest sign the tie is real.
  5. Check the other two names. Shakambari Trading is serial 6684 under Kolkata, and Sanyog Fin-Lease is serial 6490 under New Delhi. Both are registered NBFCs.
  6. Look the app up in RBI's DLA directory. It timed out for us on 4 November 2026, so we couldn't confirm the app's entry there. Try it yourself.
  7. Read your Key Fact Statement. It should name one of these three NBFCs as lender. If not, stop, and check the name on Sachet, RBI's portal for complaints about unregistered lenders.

What a Credfin loan costs in rupees

These are the terms Credfin publishes, as of November 2026.

Term

₹5,000 to ₹2 lakh

Tenure

62 to 365 days

₹590 to ₹11,918, GST included

Google Play listing

Late payment

Up to 8.33% of the overdue sum each month, minimum ₹500 plus GST

Google Play listing

₹500 plus GST

Google Play listing

Mandate rejection

₹250 plus GST

Google Play listing

Early closure

No charge, with a 3-day cooling-off period

Play listing, refund policy

The listing's example shows the money in practice. You borrow ₹20,000 for 3 months at a flat 36% a year. Interest comes to ₹1,800. A ₹708 fee, GST included, is taken out before payout, so ₹19,292 reaches your bank.

You then repay ₹21,800 in three EMIs of ₹7,267. Credfin puts the total cost at ₹2,508 for the use of ₹19,292.

Here's the catch. Flat interest is charged on the full ₹20,000 for all three months, even as you pay it down. Count that and the fee, and our estimate of the APR comes to about 76% a year. That's roughly double the 36% the listing calls its top APR.

Late fees can bite hard as well. If you miss one ₹7,267 EMI, 8.33% of it is about ₹605, and that's before GST.

The figures don't even agree across the two firms' pages. Arham Finance's personal loan page talks of loans between ₹50,000 and ₹5,00,000, with terms from 6 months up to 60. The Credfin website's EMI calculator shows ₹10K to ₹5L at 12% to 30%. Trust only your sanction letter and Key Fact Statement.

Why some people think Credfin is fake

Most "fake" claims in the reviews are really about rejections and delays, and a rejection isn't fraud. But several things Credfin publishes deserve a hard look.

Data access. Credfin's privacy policy describes reading your phonebook contacts to "determine your social network" and for "promotional and marketing activities". It collects all SMS on your phone, possibly even while the app is closed. It also tracks location in the background and lists your installed apps.

RBI's Digital Lending Directions, 2025 say lenders' apps must "desist from accessing" contact lists, call logs and files. Yet Credfin's Data safety form on Google Play says the app doesn't collect or share any data. Both can't be true.

No named grievance officer. RBI wants the grievance officer's contact details shown on the lender's site, the service provider's site and the app. Credfin's policy says an officer "will be appointed", and no one is named. Arham Finance gives only an email, and its grievance and fair practice links lead nowhere.

Odd terms. Credfin's terms ask anyone on the Do Not Disturb list not to complain to authorities about its calls.

What's normal? Apps that work for an NBFC are common and legal, and fees cut from the loan are standard. The 62-day minimum tenure also meets Google Play's 60-day rule.

What Credfin borrowers report

On 4 November 2026, the Play listing showed 4.2 stars from 18,270 ratings and 10L+ downloads. It was last updated on 22 October 2026. The split is extreme: 13,527 five-star ratings and 3,194 one-star, with few in between.

We read the 600 newest reviews, dated 20 September to 3 November 2026. Of the 496 five-star ones, 296 had five words or fewer, like "nice app" or "good app". There were 49 five-star reviews on 24 September and 39 on 1 November alone. Some five-star posts even copy other people's complaints word for word. That looks inorganic, so don't lean on the average.

The complaints are more detailed:

  • Applications stuck at "Final Decision Pending" for hours or days.
  • A loan marked active in the app before any money arrived, in one case ₹16,000.
  • An EMI paid early or by hand, then taken again by auto-debit, such as ₹4,309 and ₹3651.
  • Calls and emails to support going unanswered.
  • References, friends and relatives phoned before the loan was paid out.

The most serious reports are about recovery. Three reviews, from 24 September, 2 October and 29 October 2026, describe nude or morphed images being made or threatened. Each says they were sent, or would be, to the borrower's contacts.

One says a single missed payment led to 100 to 150 calls a day. We can't verify these claims. But they repeat, and the privacy policy does give the app access to your contacts.

The good reviews mostly praise fast money in an emergency. Even one happy reviewer warned that rates and fees are high on short tenures.

Spotting a fake Credfin app, agent or call

Fraudsters copy real app names, so use these checks, drawn from what Credfin and Arham Finance publish.

  • Get it from Google Play only. On Play, the genuine app is called "CredFin:Instant Personal Loans", from Credfin Services Private Limited. Never install an APK file sent on WhatsApp or by SMS.
  • Don't pay anything upfront. Credfin's fee comes out of the loan itself, like the ₹708 in its example. Anyone asking for a "processing fee" first isn't following Credfin's process.
  • Repay only through official channels. Arham Finance's terms say repayments go only to Arham's bank account and that service providers can't handle funds. Never pay an agent's personal UPI ID.
  • Use the number on the website. The phone number on Credfin's contact page is +91 92897 66612. Replies on Google Play have given other numbers, including one with two digits swapped.
  • Ask who the recovery agent is. RBI's rules say the lender must send the recovery agent's details by email or SMS before that agent contacts you. No message, no payment.
  • Treat threats as a crime. Morphed photos or threats to contacts are not debt collection. Call the cybercrime helpline on 1930 and report it to the police.

What to do if something goes wrong

Work through these in order and keep screenshots of everything.

  1. Contact Credfin. Email support@credfin.money or call +91 92897 66612. Credfin says it will acknowledge a complaint in 24 hours and resolve it in no more than 15 working days.
  2. Write to the lender. Arham Finance takes complaints at grievance@arhamfinance.com. No officer is named, so put your loan number in the subject line.
  3. Go to RBI after 30 days. If the issue is still open after 30 days, complain to RBI's Integrated Ombudsman. The portal is cms.rbi.org.in, and the helpline is 14448.
  4. Report fraud or threats at once. For harassment, morphed images or money taken by fraud, call 1930 and file a cybercrime complaint.

Charged twice? Credfin's refund policy says extra payments should be refunded to the account they came from in 7 working days. If you pay by hand, make it 48 hours or more ahead of the scheduled NACH debit. Every published number and email is on our Credfin customer care page.

Should you take a Credfin loan?

Credfin may work for a salaried borrower aged over 21 with take-home pay of ₹15K or more each month. It suits someone who will read the Key Fact Statement and turn down an offer that costs too much. You'll need PAN, Aadhaar and a salary account statement.

Look elsewhere if you don't want an app reading your contacts and every SMS, if you're self-employed, or if you need a quick answer. Many reviewers waited days for one.

Our full Credfin review scores the app on speed, cost, support and safety. For similar small loans from regulated lenders, compare KreditBee, Moneyview and True Balance, or see every app we've reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Is Credfin a real loan app or a fake one?

Credfin is real. It's run by Credfin Services Private Limited in New Delhi, and its loans come from Arham Finance & Investment Services Limited, an RBI-registered NBFC. Arham's own terms name Credfin as its loan service provider. Check the data permissions and the APR before you sign anything.

Is Credfin RBI registered?

Credfin itself isn't registered with RBI, and its terms say so. It doesn't lend, so it doesn't need to be. The lender, Arham Finance, sits at serial 597 in RBI's NBFC register for 30 September 2026. Credfin's homepage also lists Shakambari Trading and Sanyog Finlease, which are registered NBFCs too.

What is Credfin's real interest rate?

Credfin advertises up to 36% a year, but its own example uses flat interest. On ₹20,000 for 3 months, you receive ₹19,292 after a ₹708 fee and repay ₹21,800. Our estimate of the APR on that loan is about 76% a year. Your Key Fact Statement should show the exact APR before you e-sign.

What is the Credfin customer care number?

The number on Credfin's contact page is +91 92897 66612, and the support email is support@credfin.money. Complaints about the lender go to grievance@arhamfinance.com. Use only these. Numbers posted in replies on Google Play don't all match, and one has two digits swapped.

What should I do if Credfin agents harass me or call my contacts?

Note the date, time and number of each call, and save every message. Then complain to Credfin and Arham Finance by email. Threats involving morphed photos are a crime, so call 1930 and report them to the police. If the lender doesn't fix it within 30 days, take it to RBI.

Can I close a Credfin loan early or cancel it?

Yes. Credfin lists no prepayment charge, so you can close a loan early through the app. Its refund policy gives a 3-day cooling-off period with no prepayment penalty. After closing, ask for a closure letter and check that the auto-debit mandate is cancelled. Some reviewers say money was still debited after they closed.

Why does Credfin show my loan as active when no money has come?

Several reviewers say the app marked a loan active before any money reached them. Don't pay on it yet. Send a screenshot and your bank statement to support@credfin.money, copying grievance@arhamfinance.com. Ask them to cancel the loan and remove the e-mandate, and escalate to RBI if they don't.
