Direct Credit is a real company, but it's a loan broker, not a lender. Its loans come from Meet Finance Private Limited, which is on RBI's register of NBFCs, or from IDFC FIRST Bank. The app, which many people search for as Direct Credit Loans, is run by YSS Direct Credit Private Limited of Greater Noida. So the name on your loan papers will be a lender's, not Direct Credit's.

Is it safe? That depends on who ends up lending to you. Meet Finance publishes a sample Key Fact Statement (KFS) with an APR of 44.68%, while the app quotes 36% as its top APR. So before you upload a single document, ask which lender will sanction your loan and read that lender's KFS.

Direct Credit real or fake: the quick answer

  • Is it real? Yes. It's a working loan marketplace, and IDFC FIRST Bank names YSS Direct Credit among its active online partners for personal loans.
  • Does it lend? No. Its terms say it is not an NBFC, bank or direct lender.
  • Is the lender regulated? Meet Finance sits at serial 4428 in RBI's NBFC register dated 30 September 2026. IDFC FIRST is a bank.
  • What bothers us: the lender named on Play advertises no personal loans. The pages contradict each other, and the Play reviews arrive in bursts that look arranged.
  • Your one check: get the lender's name and its KFS before you share documents, and never pay anyone upfront.

The broker behind Direct Credit and the two lenders it names

Direct Credit belongs to YSS Direct Credit Private Limited, with a registered office in Knowledge Park 3, Greater Noida. Its terms call the firm a Direct Selling Agent, or DSA. In plain words, it helps you check eligibility and compare offers, and a bank or NBFC makes the loan.

The Play listing says Meet Finance Pvt. Ltd. facilitates the personal loans in the app. The website's lending partners page adds IDFC FIRST Bank.

Both ties check out from the lender's side. Meet Finance's home page calls Direct Credit its "Digital Channel Partner". IDFC FIRST Bank's partner list, dated 14 May 2026, has YSS Direct Credit at number 14.

Some claims don't add up, though. The website talks of 30+ banks and NBFCs on one page and 50+ lending partners on another, yet only these two are named. Meet Finance's own site lists just loans against property and unsecured business loans, the latter from ₹50,000 to ₹5,00,000. That's a long way from the ₹2 crore ceiling on the app.

Is Direct Credit RBI registered? Retrace our checks

Direct Credit itself isn't on RBI's register, since it's an agent. RBI registers the lenders, so the real test is whether yours is regulated and owns up to Direct Credit. Here's what we did on 30 October 2026, in order.

  1. Get the lender's name. Play names Meet Finance Private Limited, and the partner page adds IDFC FIRST Bank. Your offer screen or agreement should say which one is lending.
  2. Search RBI's NBFC register. In the edition dated 30 September 2026, Meet Finance is serial 4428 under RBI's Kanpur office. Its Prayagraj address matches its own website. IDFC FIRST is a bank, so it isn't on this list at all.
  3. Look at the cancelled list. RBI also lists NBFCs that have lost their registration. It wouldn't load for us, so run this one yourself.
  4. Ask whether the lender names the app. Meet Finance's home page and IDFC FIRST Bank's partner list both do. That's strong evidence of a genuine tie-up.
  5. Try the Digital Lending Apps directory. It lists which apps a lender has told RBI about. It timed out for us, so a Direct Credit entry is unconfirmed.
  6. Keep Sachet in mind. Sachet, run by RBI, takes complaints about unauthorised lenders and deposit schemes. Use it for any "Direct Credit" offer from outside the app or official site.

You can repeat this method for other apps with our step-by-step RBI check guide.

What a Direct Credit loan costs, and why the lender sets it

The lender that approves you sets the price, and Direct Credit's own pages don't always agree. Here's what each source showed as of October 2026.

Meet Finance schedule of charges

The Play listing gives one worked example. Take ₹2,00,000 for 12 months at 18% and the EMI is about ₹18,335, so you repay about ₹2,20,020. At the top 4% fee, ₹8,000 plus ₹1,440 GST would come off the payout. You'd get about ₹1,90,560 in hand.

Meet Finance's schedule also prices the slip-ups. A failed auto-debit costs ₹700 plus GST, and overdue instalments on unsecured loans attract 0.096% a day. You can't foreclose until half the tenure is over, and then it costs 6% of the principal.

Its sample KFS, for a ₹1,00,000 unsecured loan over 12 months, states a 44.68% APR. That's a sample, not a Direct Credit offer, but it's well over the 36% ceiling on Play.

We didn't review IDFC FIRST Bank's charges, which apply only if the bank lends to you. If it does, ask for the bank's KFS and set it beside any Meet Finance offer.

Why Direct Credit gets called fake

Some of the doubt is just how brokers work. It doesn't lend, it may show several offers, and it asks for PAN and Aadhaar. One reviewer saw three or four options, which is what a marketplace should do.

Here's what genuinely worried us:

  • The lender and the product don't match. Play says Meet Finance backs the personal loans, but Meet Finance's own pages show only property and business loans.
  • Figures change from page to page. The minimum loan is ₹1 lakh on Play and ₹10,000 on the website. The preferred CIBIL score is 650 on one page and 750 on another.
  • Three addresses. Play lists Greater Noida, and the privacy policy gives Sector 129 in Noida. The terms say the site is run from a head office in Mumbai.
  • Borrowed copy. The instant loan page asks you to apply on the "Direct Paisa platform", which looks like text from another brand.
  • Data handling. The Data safety panel on Google Play states that data from the app isn't encrypted in transit. Yet the app collects photos, files and financial details.
  • Wide consent. The terms let partners contact you for sales. They also allow calls and WhatsApp messages even if your number is on DND.

We didn't come across any RBI warning, police case or press report about Direct Credit or Meet Finance. So the evidence points to a real broker with untidy paperwork, not a fake app.

Direct Credit reviews on Google Play: read them with care

When we looked on 30 October 2026, Direct Credit had 4.2 stars from 81 reviews and 5K+ downloads. Many of the five-star reviews landed on two days, 10 October and 28 October 2026, in very similar words. One praises the work environment, the way a staff member would. Another speaks as the company: "We are one of the best loan provider companies."

Two more stand out. One congratulates the founder by name, and another comes from an account with the founder's name. We'd give the 4.2 rating very little weight.

The one-star reviews tell another story. Applicants complain that their files sat at "pending" even after every document went in. Phone calls ring out, they say, and WhatsApp messages are seen and left unanswered. One reviewer did get a loan approved, but it took a week, against the 24 hours the website promises.

How to tell a real Direct Credit offer from a fake one

The name is easy to mix up. Direct Credit is not Credit Direct, a Nigerian lender, and it isn't the "DirectCash - Advance Loan" app either. Run these checks before you install or pay anything.

  • Developer and package. The genuine Play app comes from YSS DIRECT CREDIT PRIVATE LIMITED, with the package name com.directcredit.android.
  • No APK files. Don't install a Direct Credit file sent on WhatsApp, SMS or Telegram.
  • No fee before the loan. The company's site warns you not to pay its employees or representatives. Money should go only into the company's own bank account, or directly to the bank or NBFC that lends.
  • Fees come out of the payout. Meet Finance deducts its fee at disbursal, so a request to send a "processing fee" first is a warning sign.
  • No personal UPI IDs. Repay only by the method in your loan agreement.
  • No threats. Direct Credit states that it doesn't access contacts, call logs or SMS for lending or marketing. A caller who threatens your family isn't following its stated rules.

Genuine sales calls happen too, given that broad consent. If one feels off, hang up and ring 9010031003.

Complaints: Direct Credit's four-level ladder, then the lender and RBI

Direct Credit publishes a four-step ladder for problems with the app or your application.

  1. Customer care: call or WhatsApp 9010031003, or email support@directcredit.in. It's open Monday to Saturday, between 10 AM and 7 PM, and promises a reply within 72 working hours.
  2. Supervisor: Rajnikant Shukla, at grievanceofficer@directcredit.in or 8700860176. The terms name him as the Grievance Redressal Officer.
  3. Grievance officer: Ashwani Sharma, at ashwani@directcredit.in or 7428841131.
  4. Nodal officer: Yogendra Kumar, the CEO and Managing Director, at yogendra@directcredit.in.

Loan problems, such as wrong charges or rough recovery calls, belong with the lender too. For Meet Finance, the partner page gives grievance@meetfinance.in and 757-191-9966. For IDFC FIRST Bank, the principal nodal officer is Vipul Raj at pno@idfcfirstbank.com, and customer care is 1800-10-888.

Still stuck after 30 days? RBI's Integrated Ombudsman is the next stop. The complaint form is on cms.rbi.org.in, and the helpline is 14448.

If someone has cheated or threatened you, dial 1930, the national cybercrime helpline, the same day. Our Direct Credit customer care page keeps every number together.

Should you apply through Direct Credit?

Direct Credit can make sense for a salaried borrower with a strong credit score who wants a bigger loan over a long tenure. Its instant loan page asks for a CIBIL score of 750 or more and a salary of at least ₹15,000.

It may suit you if:

  • you're salaried and want ₹1 lakh or more over as long as 84 months
  • you're happy to compare a few offers before picking a lender

Look elsewhere if:

  • you need a small sum below ₹1 lakh in a hurry
  • you'd like the lender's name and price before handing over any papers
  • you plan to repay early, given Meet Finance's foreclosure lock-in

If you'd rather deal with a lender directly, compare these regulated options for a similar loan size:

  • Bajaj Finserv: loans come from Bajaj Finance, itself an RBI-registered NBFC.
  • Navi: lends through its own RBI-registered NBFC.
  • Moneyview: names its regulated lending partners up front.

Whichever you pick, ask for the KFS before you sign. For ratings and application steps, read our full Direct Credit review, or rate it against others in our loan app reviews.

Frequently asked questions

Is Direct Credit real or fake?

Direct Credit is real. YSS Direct Credit Private Limited runs it, and IDFC FIRST Bank lists the firm as an active online partner for personal loans. It's a broker, not a lender, so your loan comes from Meet Finance or IDFC FIRST Bank. We found no RBI warning or police case against it, but its pages contradict each other and its reviews look managed.

Is Direct Credit RBI registered?

Direct Credit isn't, because it's an agent, but its lenders are regulated. Meet Finance Private Limited is serial 4428 in RBI's NBFC register dated 30 September 2026. IDFC FIRST Bank is a bank, so it sits outside that list. The Digital Lending Apps directory timed out when we tried, so check the lender's name in your KFS.

How much does a Direct Credit loan really cost?

It depends on the lender that approves you. The Play listing quotes a highest APR of 36% and fees of 1.5% to 4%. In its own example, ₹2,00,000 for 12 months at 18% costs about ₹20,020 in interest, plus the fee and GST. Meet Finance's sample KFS shows 44.68%, so compare the APR on your offer before you sign.

What is the Direct Credit customer care number?

The number is 9010031003, and it also works on WhatsApp as +91 90100 31003. The team answers Monday to Saturday, between 10 AM and 7 PM, and the email is support@directcredit.in. If nothing improves, write to Rajnikant Shukla at grievanceofficer@directcredit.in or call 8700860176. Our care page lists every level.

What should I do about fake or harassing calls in Direct Credit's name?

Hang up and call the official number, 9010031003, to check. Direct Credit tells customers never to pay its staff, and says it doesn't access contacts. So anyone demanding an upfront fee or threatening your family is a red flag. Report threats to the lender's grievance officer and, if money is involved, to the cybercrime helpline on 1930.

Can I cancel a Direct Credit application or close the loan early?

You can ask Direct Credit to delete your data, which its Play listing allows. Closing a loan early depends on the lender. Meet Finance doesn't allow foreclosure until half the tenure has passed, and then charges 6% of the principal. Direct Credit's FAQ only says early closure is "subject to lender policy", so check your KFS before you sign.

Why does Direct Credit name a lender that doesn't sell personal loans?

The company doesn't explain it. Play says Meet Finance facilitates the app's personal loans. Meet Finance's website, however, shows only property loans and business loans, with unsecured ones capped at ₹5,00,000. Ask the support team which lender is sanctioning your loan, then check that the KFS and agreement carry that name.
