Ola Loan App Real or Fake? Who Really Lends and What to Check
By Abhishek Kumar · Content Writer Edited by BankCreds Content & SEO Team Updated 30 October 2026 Reviewed by BankCreds Financial Experts Ola loan is real: personal loans in the Ola app are funded by RBI-registered lenders such as Tata Capital, InCred and Poonawalla Fincorp. Ola itself doesn't lend, and you won't find a standalone Ola loan app.
Is it safe? The lenders are regulated, and that matters most. The gap is price, because Ola publishes no interest rate, fee or APR. Before you e-sign, see who the lender is on your offer, then read its Key Fact Statement (KFS). All checks here were made on 30 October 2026.
Quick answer
- Real, but not a lender: Ola Financial Services, known as Ola Money, arranges loans inside the Ola ride app for partner lenders.
- Who lends: Ola's partner list of 17 September 2026 names nine. Eight are in RBI's NBFC register, and the ninth is IDFC FIRST Bank.
- No separate app: a Google Play search for "ola loan" showed no standalone app. Anything sold as one isn't Ola's.
- No published price: only the lender's KFS shows the rate, fees and APR.
- Main complaints: Postpaid dues, late fees, harsh recovery calls and a few loans users say they never asked for.
Who is behind Ola loan, and who lends the money
The Ola app on Google Play belongs to ANI Technologies Private Limited of Bengaluru. Its loan offers are run by a group company, Ola Financial Services Private Limited, once called Zipcash Card Services. Its loan terms say plainly that it is not a bank or a regulated entity. The lender pays into your bank account, and your contract is with that lender.
Ola's own lender lists don't agree. Its loan terms of 24 March 2026 name seven. Its partner list of 17 September 2026 names these nine:
- Tata Capital
- InCred Financial Services
- Kisetsu Saison Finance (Credit Saison India)
- Poonawalla Fincorp
- DMI Finance
- Respo Financial Capital
- Aditya Birla Capital
- IDFC FIRST Bank
- LiquiLoans (NDX P2P Private Limited)
The lenders' own pages are the better proof. Tata Capital, InCred, DMI Finance, Respo, Poonawalla Fincorp and Credit Saison India all name Ola Financial Services as a partner. Tata Capital's list is dated 30 September 2026.
Two names look stale. IDFC FIRST Bank's Ola page says it no longer onboards new borrowers and only services existing loans. Aditya Birla Capital listed Ola until June 2026, but not on its live page. The LiquiLoans pages we could open don't mention Ola.
Is Ola loan RBI registered? How we checked
RBI licenses lenders, not apps, so check the lender on your offer. These are the steps we took, and you can repeat them.
- Find the lender's legal name on the offer screen or in the KFS. "Ola Money" is the service provider, not the lender.
- Open RBI's list of registered NBFCs. We used the copy dated 15 October 2026, which covers lenders registered as on 30 September. RBI's site kept timing out, so we used an archived capture of that file.
- Search the exact name. Tata Capital is serial 7610 and InCred is 3103, both under Mumbai. Kisetsu Saison is 3773, Poonawalla Fincorp 5485 and DMI Finance 1998.
- Check the rest. Respo is 6062, Aditya Birla Capital 174 and NDX P2P 4856, as a peer-to-peer lender. IDFC FIRST is a bank, so it isn't on this list.
- Search for Ola. Ola Financial Services and ANI Technologies aren't on the list. That fits Ola's own account of its role, so it's no red flag.
- See if the lender names Ola. Look for its list of loan service providers (LSPs) or lending apps. Six NBFCs name Ola Financial Services, and IDFC FIRST Bank keeps an Ola page for old loans.
- Look up RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory. On our visit it failed to load, so no lender's Ola entry there is confirmed. We didn't check Sachet or the cancelled licence list this time.

What an Ola loan costs
We don't know, and Ola doesn't say. Its terms say the lender may charge interest and other fees, shown in the app. Those screens need a logged-in account, so we saw no rate, fee, APR or worked example. The terms also let Ola Financial Services add its own charge for using the app.
Here is what is published, and by whom, as of October 2026:
Term | Ola publishes? | What we found elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
Amount | No | Up to ₹10 lakh (InCred press release, August 2024) |
Tenure | No | 6 to 84 months, IDFC FIRST Bank's closed Ola program only |
Interest rate | No | IDFC's Ola page: "starting from 10%" on its own loans |
Processing fee | No | Up to 3.5% at IDFC; Ola may add an app charge |
Late and bounce fees | No | IDFC: up to 2.5% of the unpaid EMI; bounce 7.5%, ₹400 to ₹1,000 plus GST |
Foreclosure | No | IDFC: up to 5% of principal still owed |
APR | No | Only in your lender's KFS |
IDFC's figures cover IDFC loans only, and it no longer takes new Ola borrowers. Every other lender prices its own loans. Some offers may be a credit line, too: Tata Capital says its Ola product lets you withdraw, repay and prepay.
So the KFS is where you find the cost. Ola's terms list it among the papers that govern your loan. Before you enter the OTP, check:
- The lender's name, and that this lender lists Ola on its own site.
- The cash paid to you against the loan amount. The gap is fees and tax.
- The APR, the full yearly cost with fees included. Compare APRs, not headline rates.
- How often you repay. Ola's terms allow monthly EMIs or equated daily instalments, and daily debits add up fast.
- Late, bounce and prepayment charges, since the lender can change its late fee.
If a line is blank or unclear, don't sign.
Why some people think Ola loan is fake
Most doubts come from how Ola's lending is built, not from signs of a scam. Here's what the evidence shows.
- No Ola loan app exists. People search and find nothing official. Results also show Olyv, formerly SmartCoin, which is unrelated to Ola.
- Ola isn't on RBI's NBFC list. That's normal for a service provider. It's the lender that must be registered.
- RBI fined Ola Financial Services twice. The penalty was ₹1,67,80,000 in July 2022 over wallet and KYC rules, then ₹3.10 lakh in September 2026 for not risk-grading some customers. Both concern its payments business, not lending, and neither is a ban.
- Loans users say they never sought. A few Ola Money reviews say a loan was "sanctioned" or "created" without a request. One September 2026 reviewer found a ₹50,000 credit line from 2020 after a re-KYC letter came from Aditya Birla Capital. We can't verify these.
- Rough Postpaid recovery. Postpaid is lender-funded pay-later credit for rides. Reviewers describe surprise dues and callers warning of home visits.
- An old shutdown. Ola stopped new loans on its Avail Finance app in December 2022, Inc42 reported, and moved lending to Ola Financial Services.
Several things are normal, though. Video KYC, a liveness check, an e-NACH mandate and OTP e-signing are standard steps. Ola also discloses a default loss guarantee to lenders on ₹9.54 crore of loans as on 30 April 2024. That means Ola takes on part of the loss if those loans go bad.
What borrowers say about Ola loan
The Ola app shows 4.6 stars from 35,52,685 ratings on Google Play, as of October 2026. But that rating is for the ride app, not loans. Its Play description covers cabs, autos, bike taxis and parcels, with no word on lending.
The separate Ola Money wallet app tells a different story, at 2.1 stars from 31.8K reviews. Loan themes from the reviews we read this month:
- Unwanted loan ads. An August 2026 review said the app has "all the unwanted loans, ads but no customer care option".
- Postpaid disputes. From August to October 2026, reviewers describe rides charged to Postpaid after paying the driver. They also mention late fees and threats of home visits.
- Credit without consent. Ola Money reviews from 2023, 2024 and 2026 say loans appeared unasked.
- Some praise. A five-star Ola Money review on 14 October 2026 says "loan received immediately".
We saw no burst of suspicious loan reviews. The newest five-star Ola reviews are short lines like "good" or "nice", and they're about rides.
How to spot a fake Ola loan app, agent or call
With no official loan app, fakes have room to work. Use these checks.
- Use only the Ola app, "Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi" by ANI Technologies Private Limited. Loans sit in its OlaMoney section. An "Ola Loan" APK or WhatsApp link is not Ola.
- Ignore guarantees. Ola's terms say it doesn't promise any loan offer. Anyone guaranteeing one is not telling the truth.
- Never pay upfront. The lender pays straight into your bank account. A caller asking for a "processing fee" first isn't working for Ola.
- Repay only in the app. Ola's help pages say EMIs are paid in the OlaMoney section. Never pay a personal UPI ID.
- Make callers name the lender. The terms let lenders or their agents contact you about dues. Match that name to your KFS.
- Limit permissions. Per Play's Data safety page, the Ola app collects your precise location, SMS, list of installed apps and credit score. Contacts and files are optional.
If anyone threatens you or your family, save the number, time and messages, and report it.
Where to complain if an Ola loan goes wrong
Ola Financial Services publishes a complaint ladder for loans. Note each date and keep screenshots.
- Customer care: 080-37101888 or loans@olamoney.com. The loan terms give 9 am to 5 pm, while the wallet policy says 10 am to 7 pm.
- Level 1: email escalation@zipcash.in. Ola aims to reply within seven business days.
- Level 2, grievance officer: Mrs. Aparna V S, on 080-37102429 or grievance.officer@zipcash.in, 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays. Her reply time is fifteen business days.
- Your lender: the contract is with the lender in your KFS, so complain to it too.
- RBI Ombudsman: no fix after 30 days, or a reply you reject? Complain at cms.rbi.org.in, or dial 14448.
- Fraud or threats: call the cybercrime helpline, 1930, at once.
All of these are on our Ola loan customer care page. Other lenders are in our customer care directory.
Should you use Ola loan?
It can work if you already ride with Ola and the offer comes from a lender you know, like Tata Capital or InCred. It also suits people who read the KFS closely and compare it with a second quote. The lenders are regulated and most name Ola in public, which many loan apps can't claim.
Look elsewhere if you want a rate before sharing KYC, or if you've had a Postpaid dispute. The same goes if you'd rather a ride app didn't read your SMS for a loan.
For a direct quote, see our reviews of Poonawalla Fincorp and Aditya Birla Capital personal loans, two registered NBFCs from Ola's list. Our full Ola loan review has ratings, pros and cons. See all our loan app reviews too.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Ola loan app real or fake?
Real. Ola loan means the personal loan offers in the Ola ride app, which Ola Financial Services (Ola Money) arranges for partner lenders. Registered NBFCs such as Tata Capital, InCred and DMI Finance fund them, and six NBFCs name Ola on their own sites. There's no standalone Ola loan app, so distrust any app that claims to be one.
Is Ola loan RBI registered, and who is the lender?
Ola Financial Services isn't a registered lender, and says so. Its lenders are. Tata Capital (serial 7610), InCred (3103), Poonawalla Fincorp (5485) and DMI Finance (1998) are in RBI's NBFC list. That list is dated 15 October 2026. Your KFS names your lender. We couldn't open RBI's lending app directory, so that entry is unconfirmed.
What interest rate does an Ola loan charge?
Ola publishes no rate, processing fee or APR, as of October 2026. Each lender sets its own price and shows it in its Key Fact Statement. The only figures we found belong to IDFC FIRST Bank, such as a fee of up to 3.5%. IDFC no longer takes new Ola borrowers, though. Compare the APR and the cash you'll receive before you sign.
What is the Ola loan customer care number?
For loans, call 080-37101888 or email loans@olamoney.com, as of October 2026. The loan terms give hours of 9 am to 5 pm. Next, try escalation@zipcash.in, then grievance officer Aparna V S on 080-37102429 or grievance.officer@zipcash.in. After 30 days with no answer, the RBI Ombudsman can step in.
What should I do about Ola Money recovery calls or fake callers?
Ask each caller which lender they act for, and check it against your KFS. Pay only in the OlaMoney section of the Ola app, never to a personal UPI ID. Recent reviews mention threats of home visits over Postpaid dues, so log every call. Complain to the grievance officer, and call 1930 if you're threatened or cheated.
How do I close or cancel an Ola loan?
Repay in the OlaMoney section of the Ola app, where Ola's help pages say EMIs go. Your lender sets any early closure fee, so check the prepayment line in your KFS. IDFC, for one, lists up to 5% of the principal still owed. We couldn't confirm a cancel window in Ola's terms, so ask your lender in writing and keep its reply.
Is Ola Money Postpaid a loan?
In effect, yes. Ola's terms describe Postpaid as short-term credit given by a financial institution, with Ola Financial Services arranging it. Unpaid dues can go to a credit bureau. Late fees start at ₹75 on dues of ₹251 to ₹500 and grow as days pass. Postpaid Plus adds 5% a month on the overdue amount.
