What the Flipkart Axis card is and who it suits
The Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card is Axis Bank's cashback card with Flipkart, and its higher rates works on three brands of the group: Flipkart, Myntra and Cleartrip. Cashback goes straight to your statement, one rupee for one rupee. The card is active and open for applications. People who gets most from it already buy on Flipkart or Myntra every month and also use Swiggy or Uber, while someone paying mostly bills, rent and fuel earns almost nothing.
The three things that matter most
- Quarterly caps. Myntra at 7.5%, Flipkart at 5% and Cleartrip at 5% are each capped at ₹4,000 per statement quarter, and every merchant have its own cap.
- A waiver that needs real spending. The ₹500 annual fee goes only on ₹3,50,000 of spends in the previous card year.
- No travel extras. Lounge visits stopped from 20 June 2025, and foreign currency spends cost 3.5% more.
What changed from 2024 to 2026
Axis revised the card three time since December 2024. On 20 December 2024 interest went to 3.75% a month from 3.6%, with new 1% fees on big utility, wallet, fuel and gaming spends. On 20 June 2025 Myntra rose to 7.5% from 1%, Flipkart and Cleartrip got the ₹4,000 cap, lounge visits ended and the welcome voucher fell from ₹500 to ₹250. From 28 August 2026 the currency conversion markup is 3.5%, up from 1.5%, with a new ₹1,300 late fee slab.
Fees and charges on the Flipkart Axis card
The joining fee is ₹500 and the annual fee from the second year is ₹500, with GST extra. At 18% GST that is ₹500 plus ₹90, so ₹590 each time. The Key Fact Sheet says the joining fee does not apply if you was given a lifetime-free card or a different fee on the application form. Add-on cards are free.
Will a normal spender get the fee waived?
The waiver needs ₹3,50,000 of spends in the preceding card anniversary year, which is ₹3,50,000 divided by 12, about ₹29,167 a month. Rent and wallet loads don't count, the Key Fact Sheet leaves out gift cards also, and spends count by posting date. At ₹15,000 a month for 12 months you reach ₹1,80,000, barely half, so for most users the ₹590 renewal is just the cost price of the card.
Interest, late fees and cash
Interest on a carried balance is 3.75% a month, or 55.55% a year. The late fee depends on the total due, from nil up to ₹500 of dues to ₹1,300 above ₹50,000. Cash withdrawals cost 2.5%, minimum ₹500, with interest from the same day.
- Rent: 1% of each rent payment, plus GST.
- Utility bills: 1% once a cycle's utility payments reaches ₹25,000.
- Wallet loads and online gaming: 1% each from ₹10,000 a cycle; fuel 1% from ₹50,000; education through third-party apps 1%.
- Foreign currency spends and rupee payments abroad: 3.5% each; cash bill payment at a branch: ₹175.

How the cashback works
Myntra pays 7.5%, Flipkart's website and app 5% (not Flipkart Health) and Cleartrip 5%, each capped at ₹4,000 per statement quarter. Preferred partners pay 4% with no cap; right now these is Swiggy food delivery, Uber, PVR, Fitpass and Stoga by Fitpass, and Axis can change the list. Other eligible spends earn 1%, uncapped.
Filling the Myntra cap needs ₹4,000 divided by 7.5%, about ₹53,333 in a statement quarter; the Flipkart cap needs ₹4,000 divided by 5%, or ₹80,000. Most families never comes near that outside a sale month.
- A transaction below ₹100 earn nothing, and cashback is rounded down per transaction.
- Excluded: utilities, telecom, fuel, rent, wallet loads, insurance, education, government, gold, gift cards, EMI and cash; tolls too from 28 August 2026.
- Cashback is credited 3 days before the next statement. No expiry is stated, but it is lost if the card is cancelled, converted or goes into default.
The welcome gift is a ₹250 Flipkart voucher for a first transaction within 30 days, only where joining fee was paid. No milestone benefits are there. The card page lists a 1% fuel surcharge waiver on ₹400 to ₹4,000, up to ₹400 a cycle, but the MITC list does not name this card, so check with Axis.
Example 1: light spender, ₹8,000 a month
₹3,000 on Flipkart at 5% is ₹150, ₹1,500 on Swiggy at 4% is ₹60 and ₹3,500 elsewhere at 1% is ₹35. That's ₹245 a month, or ₹2,940 a year. ₹8,000 times 12 is ₹96,000, so the fee stays: ₹2,940 minus ₹590 leaves ₹2,350.
Example 2: typical spender, ₹28,000 a month
₹8,000 on Flipkart gives ₹400, ₹3,000 on Myntra at 7.5% gives ₹225, ₹4,000 on Swiggy and Uber gives ₹160, ₹10,000 elsewhere gives ₹100 and ₹3,000 of bills gives zero. That is ₹885 a month, ₹10,620 a year. ₹28,000 times 12 is ₹3,36,000, short of the waiver by ₹14,000, so after ₹590 you net ₹10,030.
Example 3: heavy spender, ₹60,000 a month
This person put ₹35,000 a month on Flipkart, ₹6,000 on Myntra, ₹4,000 on Cleartrip, ₹5,000 on partners and ₹10,000 elsewhere. Times three for a quarter: Flipkart ₹1,05,000 at 5% would be ₹5,250 but the cap holds it at ₹4,000, Myntra ₹18,000 gives ₹1,350, Cleartrip ₹12,000 and partners ₹15,000 give ₹600 each, and ₹30,000 at 1% gives ₹300. That is ₹6,850 a quarter, ₹27,400 a year. ₹60,000 times 12 is ₹7,20,000, so the fee is waived from year two. We counted nothing on Flipkart spend over the cap, since the terms don't say it earns 1%.
| Spender | Monthly spend | Yearly cashback | Fee that year | Net gain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | ₹8,000 | ₹2,940 | ₹590 | ₹2,350 |
| Typical | ₹28,000 | ₹10,620 | ₹590 | ₹10,030 |
| Heavy | ₹60,000 | ₹27,400 | Waived from year two | ₹27,400 |

Eligibility, documents and how to apply
The main cardholder must be 18 to 70 years old and a resident of India. Axis publishes no income requirement for this card; its general listing mention a minimum income of ₹15,000 a month and calls such criteria indicative.
Keep a PAN card copy or Form 60, income proof (latest payslip, Form 16 or income tax return) and address proof such as a driving licence or electricity bill. Apply on Axis's website form: choose the card, give your mobile number and PAN or date of birth, see the offer and verify by OTP. The Axis Mobile app and branches also take applications.
What Axis looks at
Under the RBI's 2025 card Directions the bank have to judge your credit risk itself, from your independent financial means, and set the limit after counting limits you hold with other lenders. Credit history matters; Experian scores run from 300 to 900, and above 750 is generally seen as good. You get a one-page Key Fact Statement with the application, and if Axis reject it, it must give the specific reasons in writing.
Approval is Axis's decision alone. For help once you hold the card, see our Axis Bank customer care page.

Pros, cons and who it suits
To be honest, this card is very good at one job. If Flipkart and Myntra take ₹10,000 or more of your money each month and you also use Swiggy or Uber, the cashback adds up fast and it come with no points to track. And the 4% partner rate has no cap at all.
The weak spots are as clear. Bills, rent, fuel, insurance and wallet loads earn nothing, so as a only card for a household it leaks value. A ₹3,50,000 waiver bar is high for a ₹500 card, and with no lounges and a 3.5% forex fee, travellers get nothing special.
- Gains most: frequent Myntra buyers at 7.5%, people who spread big Flipkart buys across quarters to stay under ₹4,000, and regular Swiggy and Uber users.
- Should skip: people paying mostly bills and rent by card, and frequent foreign travellers.
- Also skip it if you often carry a balance; at 3.75% a month the interest wipes out cashback very quick.
A sensible pairing is this card for Flipkart group spends and a second card for bills, such as the Airtel Axis Bank card if you pay Airtel bills.
Pros
- 7.5% cashback on Myntra, up to ₹4,000 per statement quarter
- 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip, with a separate ₹4,000 quarterly cap for each
- Uncapped 4% on Swiggy food delivery, Uber, PVR and Fitpass
- Cashback credited to the statement at ₹1 per ₹1, with no redemption fee
- Low ₹500 fee plus GST, and add-on cards are free
Cons
- Fee waiver needs ₹3,50,000 a year, about ₹29,167 a month
- No cashback on utilities, telecom, fuel, rent, insurance or wallet loads
- No lounge visits since 20 June 2025
- 3.5% forex fee and a 3.5% currency conversion markup
- Welcome voucher cut to ₹250, and none on first-year-free cards
- Interest of 3.75% a month, or 55.55% a year, on carried balances
Flipkart Axis against other shopping cashback cards
The CASHBACK SBI Card costs ₹999 plus GST and is reversed on ₹2,00,000 of annual spends, a lower bar than ₹3,50,000 here. It pays 5% on online spends with no merchant restriction, capped at ₹2,000 per statement cycle, and 1% offline up to another ₹2,000. It suits a person who shop on many sites every month.
The Amazon Pay ICICI Bank card has no joining or annual fee. It gives 5% on Amazon for Prime members, 3% for others, 2% at Amazon Pay partner merchants and 1% elsewhere with no cap stated, and its forex markup is 1.99% against 3.5% here. But it is invite only and needs monthly income of ₹30,000.
The Standard Chartered Smart card costs ₹499 plus GST, first year waived for new SC customers, renewal reversed at ₹1,20,000. Online spends earn 2% up to ₹1,000 a cycle and offline 1% up to ₹500. None of the four cards gives lounge visits, and only Amazon Pay ICICI has a lower forex markup.
Which one to pick
Take Flipkart Axis if Flipkart and Myntra is your main stores. Amazon Pay ICICI fits a Prime household with the invite, the SBI card fits spending spread over many sites, and SC Smart fit a lighter spender. See more in our credit card comparison, the Axis Bank card lineup and the credit cards hub.
