IndiaLends Loan App Real or Fake? Who Lends and What to Check

IndiaLends is real, but it's a marketplace, not a lender, and GC Web Ventures Private Limited runs it. Your loan comes from an RBI-registered lender such as KrazyBee Services or EarlySalary Services. If an IndiaLends offer reached you, the one thing to check is which lender stands behind it.

Being real isn't the same as being safe, though. The lenders are regulated, and several name IndiaLends on their own websites. But your price depends on which lender says yes, and signing up invites a flood of calls and messages. Here's how to check it all yourself, as of November 2026.

IndiaLends at a glance

  • Real company: GC Web Ventures Private Limited, set up in 2013 and based in Gurugram, runs the IndiaLends app and website.
  • Not a lender: its own terms call it a marketplace that "does not directly provide any financial services". The bank or NBFC decides.
  • Lenders vouch for it: six partners, among them Poonawalla Fincorp, KrazyBee, L&T Finance and Vivifi, name IndiaLends on their websites.
  • Price varies: the Play listing shows APRs from 10.25% up to 25%, with fees between 1.5% and 6%. Your lender's KFS has the real figure.
  • Lots of contact: its sign-up terms let it and its partners phone, text and WhatsApp you, even on DND. That's the top complaint in recent reviews.

The company behind IndiaLends, and where your loan really comes from

GC Web Ventures Private Limited (CIN U74999DL2013PTC249324) owns IndiaLends. Its registered office is in Saidulajab, New Delhi, and it works from Udyog Vihar in Gurugram. Gaurav Chopra, a former Capital One banker, founded the business and sits on its board.

Ownership may be changing. On 6 May 2026, Freo, the banking app that grew out of MoneyTap, said it would take full ownership of IndiaLends. Its press release said final regulatory approvals were still pending. Outlook Business reported on 8 May that IndiaLends would carry on as a separate company. IndiaLends' own pages don't mention Freo yet. More on the buyer in our Freo review.

So who gives you the money? Not IndiaLends. Its terms say it is "not engaged in either grant of loan" and that the final call sits with the lender. You fill in one form, IndiaLends pulls your credit report, and it shows offers from partners that might accept you.

The Play listing names just two lending partners:

  • KrazyBee Services Limited, the NBFC behind KreditBee
  • EarlySalary Services Private Limited, the NBFC in the Fibe group

The website names about two dozen more. Some are true lenders, like L&T Finance, Poonawalla Fincorp, Tata Capital and banks such as Axis and HDFC. Others are loan apps with lenders of their own, like Moneyview, Kissht, Prefr and MoneyTap. One, Finzy, is a peer-to-peer platform.

Why care? The lender sets your rate, your fees and how late payments are handled.

Checking IndiaLends against RBI records, step by step

RBI registers lenders, not marketplaces, so IndiaLends having no licence is expected. What matters is your lender: is it registered, and does it vouch for IndiaLends? We ran these checks in early November 2026.

  1. Find out exactly who the lender is. The name belongs on the offer, the sanction letter and the Key Fact Statement (KFS). No name means no deal.
  2. Search RBI's list of registered NBFCs. Our copy had data as on 30 September 2026. KrazyBee Services is entry 3826 and EarlySalary Services is 2079. Poonawalla Fincorp is 5485 and L&T Finance is 3885.
  3. Make sure IndiaLends isn't posing as a lender. GC Web Ventures isn't in that list, and its terms say it isn't registered with RBI. For a marketplace, that's normal.
  4. Look for IndiaLends on the lender's own site. KrazyBee says it lends only through the apps on its list, and IndiaLends is one of them. EarlySalary's October 2026 list, Poonawalla's IndiaLends page and L&T Finance's partner file name it too.
  5. Open RBI's list of digital lending apps. We got no response from it in November, so this one is unconfirmed. Check it yourself before signing.
  6. Search for warnings. Check Sachet and the news. Nothing turned up for IndiaLends: no RBI warning, no police case and no removal from Google Play.

Two gaps showed up. IndiaLends lists Tata Capital as a lender, but Tata Capital's own partner list from September 2026 leaves IndiaLends out. Protium is in the same spot. If your offer comes from either, get written confirmation from that lender. For more on each search, see our RBI app check guide.

What borrowing through IndiaLends costs

IndiaLends doesn't fix prices. Each lender does. Its pages still publish ranges, and they don't all agree. These were the figures in November 2026.

IndiaLends' Play page includes a sample loan: ₹5 lakh over 60 months at 25%. The EMI is ₹14,676 and interest comes to ₹3,80,540. Add a 2% processing fee of ₹10,000, ₹400 for documents and ₹150 for the repayment schedule. You pay ₹8,91,090 in all.

One quirk: the listing calls 25% the APR, yet charges 25% as interest and adds fees on top. The true APR is a little higher.

The website's example is cheaper. A ₹1 lakh loan at 12% over 60 months, with a ₹1,000 fee, has an EMI of ₹2,224. Total interest is ₹33,467.

Other pages stretch the range. The FAQ page starts loans at ₹25,000, and one answer mentions up to ₹70 lakh. Only your lender's KFS binds.

Where the "IndiaLends is fake" worry comes from

Most of the doubt has ordinary causes.

  • It sounds like a lender. Some IndiaLends pages call it "the largest online personal loan provider in the country". Its terms say it grants no loans. That's careless copy, not fraud, but it confuses people.
  • Offers that vanish. Many reviewers saw a pre-approved offer, applied and got rejected. IndiaLends builds offers from your credit report, but the lender still runs its own checks.
  • Being sent to another app. One reviewer was pointed to InstaMoney. That's normal for a marketplace, but check the new app's lender before sharing documents.
  • Money taken before a loan. Reviewers in March and October 2026 say they paid ₹199 or ₹200 and got nothing. IndiaLends replies that it charges no fee to apply. We couldn't confirm who took the money. Its Score Plus credit tool is a paid extra at ₹49, so check what any payment is for.
  • Contact details that don't match. We found four phone numbers for IndiaLends across its pages, its Play listing and lender documents.
  • Wide data sharing. Play's Data safety section says your personal details, photos and files can go to other companies for ads and marketing.

IndiaLends reviews on Google Play: the pattern

On 4 November 2026, the IndiaLends app had 4.3 stars from about 84.7K reviews and 50L+ downloads. It was last updated on 16 October 2026.

The newest reviews, several hundred of which we read, tell a split story.

Praise is short. Most five-star posts were a word or three, like "good" or "good service". Longer ones like the simple credit score view, and a few say a loan came quickly.

Complaints are specific. One reviewer describes 40 to 50 robot calls a day. Others mention WhatsApp and SMS spam, offers that disappear at the last step and unwanted auto-debits. One person got a WhatsApp saying their loan request was submitted, though they never applied.

Some praise doesn't look natural. Five-star reviews arrived in bursts on single days. One long, polished paragraph appeared word for word under several names in January, May and August 2026. In one reply, IndiaLends even asked a three-star reviewer to rate it five stars.

Fake IndiaLends calls, agents and payment requests: how to tell

IndiaLends' own rule is simple. It collects no fee from customers, and anyone asking for charges in its name should be reported to support@indialends.com.

  • Never pay to "release" a loan. A real lender takes its processing fee out of the loan or adds it to the loan. It doesn't ask for a UPI transfer first.
  • Skip personal UPI IDs. Repay only through the lender's app, website or official bank details, never a person's number.
  • Get the app from the Play Store. The genuine listing is "IndiaLends-Loans, Credit Score" by IndiaLends - GC Web Ventures Private Limited. Ignore APK files sent on WhatsApp.
  • Match the lender. A genuine offer names a bank or NBFC. Check that name in RBI's list before you share Aadhaar or bank details.
  • Distrust big approval messages. One reviewer got a "1 lakh approved" message and was then offered just ₹1000 in the app.
  • Calls you never asked for. Say you didn't sign up, ask the caller to delete your number, and report spam on the Chakshu section of the Sanchar Saathi portal.

If something goes wrong with an IndiaLends loan

First, work out who you're dealing with. A problem with the app, your data, calls or a fee goes to IndiaLends. A problem with the loan itself, such as the EMI, a deduction or a collection call, goes to the lender named in your agreement.

IndiaLends' complaint process, last updated on 10 July 2026, has three levels:

  1. Support: call 0124-6983600 or email support@indialends.com. It promises a reply within 72 working hours, Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7 PM.
  2. Supervisor: if nothing comes back, email Rohit Chhoker at supervisor@indialends.com. The target is 48 working hours.
  3. Grievance officer: if the issue is still open after 7 days, write to Yojana Kumari at grievance@indialends.com.

Its contact page also lists 0124-3613900, so try that if the first line is busy. To stop marketing contact or have your data deleted, use the consent withdrawal page or call the support number.

For the lender, go to its grievance officer. IndiaLends' grievance page lists contacts for each partner. If the lender hasn't sorted it out in 30 days, take it to RBI's Integrated Ombudsman, online at cms.rbi.org.in or on 14448. Lost money to a fraud? Call 1930 straight away. Our IndiaLends customer care page keeps every number in one place.

Is IndiaLends worth using?

IndiaLends can work if you want several offers from one form and your credit score is decent. A free credit report is a bonus.

Look elsewhere if:

  • You don't want calls and messages from several lenders.
  • You already know which bank or NBFC you want.
  • You need a firm price before you share your data.

Going direct is often simpler. L&T Finance is one of IndiaLends' own partners, and you can apply with it directly. IDFC FIRST Bank is a bank option for strong profiles. For smaller sums, KrazyBee lends through its own KreditBee app. Our full IndiaLends review scores the app on speed, cost, support and safety.

Frequently asked questions

Is IndiaLends real or fake?

IndiaLends is real. GC Web Ventures Private Limited, a company set up in 2013, runs it as a loan and credit card marketplace. It doesn't lend money itself. Offers come from banks and RBI-registered NBFCs, and lenders such as KrazyBee Services, EarlySalary Services and Poonawalla Fincorp list IndiaLends on their own websites. Treat it as a comparison tool and check the lender behind every offer.

Is IndiaLends RBI registered?

No, and it doesn't need to be, because it doesn't lend. Its terms say it isn't registered with RBI. Your lender must be. The Play listing names KrazyBee Services and EarlySalary Services. Both appear in RBI's NBFC register for 30 September 2026, at entries 3826 and 2079. Look up the lender on your KFS before you accept.

Does IndiaLends charge any fee?

IndiaLends says it doesn't. Its terms state that it collects no fee from customers, and it asks you to report anyone who demands charges in its name. Lenders do charge processing fees, which the Play listing puts at 1.5% to 6%. Score Plus, its credit improvement tool, is a paid extra at ₹49. Never pay an agent upfront to get a loan.

What is the IndiaLends customer care number?

IndiaLends' complaint process lists 0124-6983600 and the email support@indialends.com, Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 7 PM. Its contact page shows 0124-3613900 instead. The grievance officer is Yojana Kumari at grievance@indialends.com. For a problem with the loan itself, contact the lender named in your agreement, not IndiaLends.

How do I stop IndiaLends calls and messages?

Signing up gives IndiaLends and its partner lenders your consent to phone you, text you and use WhatsApp or even AI-based calls. That consent overrides DND. To stop it, use the consent withdrawal page, call 0124-6983600 or email support and request deletion of your data. If calls keep coming, note the dates and escalate to the grievance officer.

What if a lender from IndiaLends harasses me over repayment?

Recovery is the lender's job, and RBI rules bar threats and abuse. IndiaLends' privacy policy says it may also handle collections for some lenders. Note the caller's number, the time and what was said. Complain to the lender's grievance officer first. After 30 days, the RBI Ombudsman can step in. For threats or UPI demands, call 1930.

How do I close a loan taken through IndiaLends?

You close the loan with the lender, not IndiaLends. Ask the lender for a foreclosure statement and pay through its official channels. IndiaLends says prepayment is often allowed after 12 months and a fee may apply, but the lender's KFS has the real rule. Once you've paid, ask for a no-dues letter. To close your IndiaLends account, email support.
