RupeeGo Loan App Real or Fake? Lender, APK and Lookalike Checks
By Abhishek Kumar · Content Writer Edited by BankCreds Content & SEO Team Updated 30 October 2026 Reviewed by BankCreds Financial Experts RupeeGo is a real loan app, and its loans come from Salora Capital Limited, an NBFC on RBI's register. Codethrust Technologies Private Limited runs the app, and Salora's own website names RupeeGo as a partner. Whether it's safe is another matter. The lender is regulated, but how the app is offered and some of its terms call for care.
As of October 2026, RupeeGo isn't on Google Play, and its site serves an APK file for you to install instead. The name also appears in Uttarakhand Police fake loan app cases reported in 2023 and 2025. We found nothing tying that app to Codethrust or Salora. Before you apply, make sure your Key Fact Statement (KFS) and loan agreement name Salora Capital Limited as the lender.
The short answer on RupeeGo
- Real? Yes. Codethrust runs the app as a lending service provider, and Salora Capital Limited approves and pays out the loans.
- RBI registered? The lender is, at entry 6406 in the NBFC list RBI dated 15 October 2026.
- Where to get it? Not on Google Play as of October 2026. The site says its Play app is "undergoing review" and offers an APK.
- Cost? Loans run to ₹5 lakh over 91 to 360 days, with a 36% yearly cap on interest and APR. The fee is at most 1% plus GST.
- Worries? An 18-month lock-in longer than any loan, wide phone permissions and other apps using the same name.
Who runs RupeeGo and whose money you borrow
RupeeGo's privacy policy says Codethrust Technologies Private Limited operates the app under the RupeeGo brand. Its footer CIN, U63121DL2026PTC462019, points to a Delhi company registered in 2026. Its address is in Okhla, New Delhi. That's a very young operator.
Codethrust doesn't lend. Its About page says Salora Capital Limited, an RBI-regulated NBFC, handles credit approval and disbursal. Salora was once called Jadoonet Limited and dates back to 1999.
The tie runs both ways. Salora's own list of lending service providers includes RupeeGo and links to Codethrust's site. Salora funds other apps too, such as KredTap, covered in our KredTap review.
There's one small mismatch. RupeeGo's Lending Partner page puts Salora's office in Goregaon East, while RBI's list says Versova, Andheri West. Match the name and CIN, not the address.
Is RupeeGo RBI registered? Steps you can repeat
No app holds an RBI licence by itself. The test is whether the lender is registered and owns up to the app. We ran these checks on 30 October 2026.
- Read the lender's name on RupeeGo's site. The homepage says loans come from "an RBI-registered NBFC partner, Salora Capital Limited".
- Find Salora in RBI's register. The NBFC list RBI dated 15 October 2026 shows Salora at entry 6406, under the Mumbai office. It's an investment and credit company that takes no deposits.
- Match the CIN. RBI's entry shows U72900MH1999PLC122849, the same CIN on Salora's site. Salora also quotes "Registration No. 3914", which RBI's list doesn't show.
- See whether the lender names the app. Salora's LSP Partners page lists RupeeGo and links to Codethrust's site.
- Try RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory. The page wouldn't connect when we tried, so RupeeGo's entry is unconfirmed. Search it yourself under Salora Capital.
- Read the KFS. It must name Salora Capital Limited and show the APR. Any other company name is a reason to stop.
RBI's cancelled-registration list didn't open for us either. To report a "RupeeGo" offer made outside the app, use RBI's Sachet portal. Our guide on how to check if a loan app is RBI approved goes deeper.
What a RupeeGo loan costs, line by line
Here are RupeeGo's terms as of October 2026, from its website and the schedule of charges in its terms. Your KFS shows the exact figures for your loan.
Item | What RupeeGo publishes | Where it says so |
|---|---|---|
Loan amount | Up to ₹5 lakh, no minimum stated | RupeeGo website |
Tenure | 91 to 360 days | Website and terms |
Interest | Fixed rate, not above 36% a year | Terms and conditions |
APR | Not above 36% a year | RupeeGo website |
Processing fee | 1% of principal at most, plus GST | RupeeGo website |
Prepayment or foreclosure | Up to 7% of the amount paid early | Terms and conditions |
Lock-in | 18 months, with remaining interest due if you close inside it | Terms and conditions |
Late payment | Up to ₹1,500 one-time, plus up to 0.2% of overdue principal a day | Terms and conditions |
Cooling-off | 3 days, but up to 100% of the fee may be kept | Schedule of charges in the terms |
The homepage example is a ₹40,000 loan for 120 days. A ₹472 fee comes off first: the 1% fee of ₹400 plus ₹72 GST. So ₹39,528 reaches your bank, and you repay four monthly instalments of ₹10,414, a total the site puts at ₹41,657.
The site says this loan's APR "may be 12.6%", but its own numbers don't fit. By our maths, those four payments on ₹40,000 mean about 19.7% a year in interest alone. Measured against the ₹39,528 you receive, the APR is closer to 25.6%.
So you'd repay ₹2,129 more than you got. That's under the 36% cap, but trust the APR on your KFS, not the homepage.
The lock-in is the harsher clause. It lasts 18 months, yet no RupeeGo loan runs past 360 days, so every loan is locked in for its whole life. Close early and you may owe all the interest left on the schedule.
A foreclosure charge of up to 7% can come on top of that. On ₹30,000 repaid early, the full 7% would be ₹2,100.
The 3-day cooling-off exit isn't free either. RBI's 2025 rules let a lender keep a reasonable one-time processing fee on a cooling-off exit, if the KFS discloses it. RupeeGo's schedule says it may keep up to 100% of the fee, while another clause seems to promise a refund in that window. Ask which applies before you sign.
Salora's own site lists other terms again, such as ₹650 per bounce and personal loan fees up to 5%. Only your KFS applies to your loan.
Why some people think RupeeGo is fake
The doubts have real causes. Some come from RupeeGo, and some from apps with the same name.
The police cases. In July 2023, an IANS report carried by National Herald said Uttarakhand Police had busted 15 Chinese-linked fake loan apps. RupeeGo was on that list, and the report said the apps were first on Google Play. In July 2025, ETV Bharat reported an STF arrest in a case from a December 2022 FIR. It named RupeeGo among fake apps allegedly used to harass people and extort money.
What those reports leave out. They don't say who ran that RupeeGo. A shell company named in the case, LendKaro Private Ltd, is neither Codethrust nor Salora, and Codethrust was only registered in 2026. We found no link between the police-case app and either firm, though that isn't proof none exists.
No Play listing. The Play link on RupeeGo's site showed "Not found" on 30 October 2026, and a pop-up says the app is under review. Its download button points to an APK on another web address. We couldn't tell whether the listing was pulled or never went live.
Broad phone access. The privacy policy, dated 20 September 2026, lists access to files, SMS, installed apps, app usage, location and your IMEI number. RBI's 2025 Digital Lending Directions tell lending apps to stay away from file and media, contacts, call logs and telephony. The policy also allows sharing data with partners for joint marketing.
Mixed messages. Support hours differ from page to page. The contact page even lists the lender's grievance email.
Some things are normal, though. An app firm working for an NBFC lender is a common setup. KYC with PAN, Aadhaar and a selfie, a credit check and a NACH mandate are routine too.
What borrowers say about RupeeGo
With no live Play listing, RupeeGo has no Play stars or reviews as of October 2026. Nor could we find dated, checkable borrower reviews anywhere else. We didn't borrow, so payout speed is untested.
Ratings you might see belong to another app. Rupee Go: Personal Credit Line shows 4.3 stars from 1.45K reviews and 10K+ downloads, updated 7 October 2026. Of its newest 162 reviews, read on 30 October 2026, 155 came from October. And 92 were five-star, mostly one-word lines like "good" or "nice", posted in daily bursts.
Bursts like that don't look like real borrowers. Negative reviews from 4 and 16 October 2026 call it an ads-only app, and one-star reviewers say it gives no loan. Its own privacy policy agrees: form details stay on your phone, and the app doesn't send them to a lender.
How to spot a fake RupeeGo app, agent or call
Several apps and sites use the name. Here are the ones we found.
Name you see | Who is behind it | What it is |
|---|---|---|
RupeeGo (this app) | Codethrust Technologies, with Salora Capital as lender | Loan app offered as an APK, not on Google Play as of October 2026 |
Rupee Go: Personal Credit Line | Prernateam (Ecoban Yarn Private Limited, Begusarai, Bihar) | Google Play app with ads; its policy says it sends nothing to a lender |
RupeeGo in police cases | Not named in the reports | Fake loan app in Uttarakhand cases reported in 2023 and 2025 |
Older RupeeGo | Basesix Online Services, Gurugram | Business loan website for small merchants, 2018 to 2023; its web address is now for sale |
A fifth RupeeGo web address is just a "Launching Soon" page. Then check these points.
- Source of the file. The current RupeeGo is offered only through Codethrust's site, as an APK or its web platform. An APK sent on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS is not it, and even the official file skips Google Play's checks.
- Footer and lender. The real site names Codethrust Technologies Private Limited and its CIN in the footer, and Salora Capital as lender.
- Sender names. RupeeGo's official SMS headers are RUPGO and RPGO. Texts in its name from other senders deserve suspicion.
- Upfront fees. In RupeeGo's own example, the fee is cut from the payout. Anyone asking you to pay a "processing fee" first is breaking that pattern.
- Repayment route. Repayment runs on a NACH mandate to the lender. Never send loan money to a personal UPI ID.
- Threats. The police-case apps were reported for harassment. Threats, morphed photos or calls to your contacts mean a fake lender, so report them on 1930.
If something goes wrong with RupeeGo
Start with the app and move up. Keep screenshots and ticket numbers.
- Support: call +91 8516833094, listed for 9 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Sunday, except public holidays. The contact page shows shorter hours, so weekdays are safer. Email contact@codethrusttech.com for a first reply within 2 working days.
- RupeeGo's grievance officer: Ramesh Sharma, at grievance@codethrusttech.com or +91 9183104436, Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6 PM. Escalated complaints should be resolved within 30 days.
- Salora Capital, the lender: its grievance officer, Mr. Himanshu Singh, is on grievance@saloracapital.com and +91 9289119401. You can also write to Salora's principal nodal officer at Amit@saloracapital.com.
- RBI Integrated Ombudsman: no fix after 30 days? File at cms.rbi.org.in or call 14448.
- Cybercrime: if you've lost money or face threats in RupeeGo's name, call 1930 at once.

Is RupeeGo worth using?
RupeeGo may suit you if you need up to ₹5 lakh and will repay on schedule, not early. You'd also need to read the KFS closely and confirm it names Salora Capital Limited. The 36% cap and 1% fee give you clear limits to test the KFS against.
Look elsewhere if you only install apps from Google Play, or might close the loan early. The 18-month lock-in and 7% charge make that costly. It's also a poor fit if you'd rather not share files, SMS and installed apps.
For a similar amount, start with lenders whose apps are on Google Play. See our reviews of KreditBee, Money View and Zype. For our ratings and every fee, read our full RupeeGo review.
Frequently asked questions about RupeeGo
Is RupeeGo a real or fake loan app?
It's real. Codethrust Technologies Private Limited runs RupeeGo, and Salora Capital Limited, an RBI-registered NBFC, lends the money. The catch is how you get it: as of October 2026 there's no Google Play listing, only an APK. A RupeeGo app did feature in police fake loan app cases, but we found no link to this one.
Is RupeeGo registered with RBI?
RupeeGo is a lending service provider, so the app has no RBI registration of its own. Its lender, Salora Capital Limited, is entry 6406 in RBI's NBFC list dated 15 October 2026. We couldn't open RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory on 30 October 2026. Search it yourself for RupeeGo under Salora before you apply.
What does a RupeeGo loan really cost?
RupeeGo caps interest and APR at 36% a year, with a fee of up to 1% plus GST. Its homepage example, ₹40,000 over 120 days, claims a 12.6% APR. Our maths on its ₹10,414 instalments gives about 19.7% interest, or 25.6% counting the ₹472 fee. Closing early adds lock-in interest and a charge of up to 7%.
What is the RupeeGo customer care number?
RupeeGo's support line is +91 8516833094, listed for 9 AM to 8 PM every day except public holidays. For complaints, contact grievance officer Ramesh Sharma at grievance@codethrusttech.com or +91 9183104436. Still unresolved after 30 days? Go to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in or 14448.
I'm getting threats or fake calls about a RupeeGo loan. What should I do?
Don't pay anyone who threatens you or calls from an unknown number. First check in the app whether you have a loan at all, then raise a ticket. Real RupeeGo texts come from the RUPGO or RPGO headers. For threats, abuse or money demands, call the 1930 cybercrime helpline and file a police complaint.
Can I cancel or close a RupeeGo loan early?
You can exit within the 3-day cooling-off period, but up to 100% of the processing fee may be kept. After that, closing early is costly. The 18-month lock-in outlasts every RupeeGo loan, so you may pay all the scheduled interest anyway. A foreclosure charge of up to 7% can come on top.
Is the Rupee Go app on Google Play the same as RupeeGo?
No. Rupee Go: Personal Credit Line comes from Prernateam, the name used by Ecoban Yarn Private Limited of Begusarai, Bihar. It shows ads, and its privacy policy says form details stay on your phone and go to no lender. The RupeeGo that Salora funds has no Play listing as of October 2026, so keep your KYC away from the lookalike.
