Viva Money Loan App Real or Fake? What 0% Interest Really Costs

Viva Money is real. The app is run by Vivamoney Solutions Private Limited, and the loans are made by FincFriends Private Limited, a non-bank lender registered with RBI. So this is regulated lending, but the "0% interest" in the app's Play Store name doesn't mean free.

Is it safe? Legally, mostly yes. On price and service, less so: Viva's pages quote different fees, and recent users report payouts that never arrived. Before you draw, find the processing and grace repayment fees in rupees on your Key Fact Statement (KFS). All details are as of October 2026.

Quick answer

  • Real company: Vivamoney Solutions Private Limited runs the app, with offices in Gurgaon and Bengaluru.
  • Regulated lender: FincFriends Private Limited is entry 2329 in RBI's NBFC register of 15 October 2026. It names Viva Money as one of its two lending apps.
  • A credit line: you get a limit between ₹5,000 and ₹2,00,000 and pay interest only on what you take out.
  • "0% interest" isn't free: repay inside the grace period and Play still lists a 4.5% processing fee plus 1.5% for grace repayment.
  • Weak spots: no phone helpline, fees that differ by page, and a 4.9 rating propped up by tiny five-star reviews.

Behind Viva Money: the app firm and the lender

Vivamoney Solutions Private Limited (CIN U67100HR2022FTC108681) owns the app. It calls itself a Lending Service Provider (LSP) with a Digital Lending App. So it runs the sign-up, the app and support. Its terms say it does no lending, credit approval or underwriting.

The lender is FincFriends Private Limited, based in Vatika Towers on Golf Course Road, Gurugram. Viva's FAQ says your payment terms are agreed with FincFriends. Viva's own fees as an LSP are paid by the lender, not by you.

People also search for it as VivaMoney. The brand belongs to a wider Viva family that, per its About page, includes Mexico and Italy. It isn't linked to Vivifi, FlexSalary or Vivi Fin. FincFriends also lends through RupeeRedee, a separate app run by Moneymitra IT Solutions, which we cover in our RupeeRedee review.

How the Viva Money credit line and 0% window work

You don't get one lump sum. You get a limit and draw from it when you need cash, paying interest only on what you draw. Each withdrawal then takes one of two paths:

  1. Pay it all back within the grace period. It lasts up to 51 days and ends on the 20th of the next calendar month. No interest is charged, but fees are.
  2. Convert it to EMIs. You may be offered 5, 10 or 20 months, based on eligibility. Interest applies, and the 10 and 20 month plans carry a term fee.

Mind the "up to": a draw late in the month reaches the 20th sooner, so check the due date before you confirm. Viva says a good record "could" raise your limit, but that's not a promise.

Is Viva Money RBI registered? Checks you can do yourself

RBI registers lenders, not apps. So you're checking two facts: FincFriends is on RBI's list, and FincFriends claims Viva Money. We did this on 30 October 2026.

  1. Get the lender's name from Viva. The terms, the FAQ and the Play listing all name FincFriends Private Limited.
  2. Copy the CIN from the loan agreement. It's U65929HR2017FTC135958. Don't trust the website footer here, as it shows Viva's own CIN.
  3. Open RBI's NBFC register. We used the edition published on 15 October 2026, with data as on 30 September 2026. RBI's server refused us, so we read a saved copy of the same PDF.
  4. Match the entry. FincFriends is entry 2329 under the New Delhi office. It takes no deposits, and its CIN and address match the agreement.
  5. Check that the lender names the app. FincFriends' own list of LSPs and DLAs includes Vivamoney Solutions, and its partner page names Viva Money.
  6. Search RBI's directory of lending apps. It didn't load for us, so that check is unconfirmed. Try it yourself.
  7. Look for warnings. The RBI file of cancelled registrations didn't load either. Our searches found no RBI penalty, caution or police case naming Viva or FincFriends, but that isn't proof. Search Sachet as well.

After video KYC you get 72 hours to accept, so read the KFS line by line. Our guide on how to verify a loan app with RBI goes deeper.

So what does the "0% interest" window cost? Take Play's example of a ₹50,000 draw. The 4.5% processing fee with GST is ₹2,655, and the 1.5% grace fee adds ₹750, maybe plus GST. Clear it in time and you pay back at least ₹53,405.

That's ₹3,405 for up to 51 days with no interest. At the agreement's 5.70%, the processing fee alone would be ₹2,850. The agreement also keeps that fee even if you exit during the cooling-off or grace period.

Small draws hurt most. The ₹600 minimum fee is 12% of a ₹5,000 withdrawal.

For EMIs, Play's example is ₹50,000 over 5 months at 40% a year. It gives total interest of ₹5,495, then uses ₹6,810 to reach a ₹58,150 total. Those can't both be right. A standard EMI sum gives about ₹5,109, so the extra is probably interest for the days before your first EMI.

The fee isn't cut from your payout. Viva adds it to your first EMI, so the full amount reaches your bank. One page says EMI repayers pay no processing fee, yet Play's EMI example charges it. Viva's terms say nothing outside the KFS can be charged, so trust the KFS.

GST explains some gaps, not all. ₹69 plus 18% GST is ₹81.42, close to the agreement's ₹82. But 4.5% plus GST is 5.31%, not 5.70%, and ₹999 plus GST is ₹1,178.82, not ₹1,474.

Why Viva Money can look suspicious, and what's normal

Most doubts come from how Viva presents itself:

  • The name. "0% Interest Loan" sounds too good, and fees apply even in the interest-free window.
  • A foreign brand. The Viva name is used abroad too, but the Indian firm has its own CIN.
  • A wrong CIN on the website. The footer prints Viva's number under FincFriends' name. It looks like a slip, since RBI's register and the agreement carry the right one.
  • Data claims that clash. On Play's Data safety page, Viva declares it collects SMS, files and docs, and political or religious beliefs. It also lists your phone number and address as shared for marketing. Yet its privacy policy denies reading SMS or holding religious data.
  • No phone line. There's no care number on Viva's site. The Play developer number, +91 73535 89292, doesn't appear there.

What's normal? An app firm that isn't the lender, a one-time camera, mic and location request for video KYC, and a credit bureau check.

Viva Money reviews: a 4.9 rating to read with care

On 30 October 2026, Google Play showed 4.9 stars from 25.7K reviews and 1M+ downloads, with an update on 22 October 2026.

We pulled the newest 2,500 reviews, from 15 to 29 October 2026. Of those, 2,400 gave five stars, yet only 3 of them ran to 60 characters or more. In the newest 400, "very helpful app" appeared 11 times and "good safe app" 9 times. That looks inorganic, so the 4.9 tells you little.

Longer one-star reviews from October 2026 describe:

  • a transfer confirmed by email and text, but no money in the bank (17 October)
  • withdrawals stopped for a user of 3 to 4 years, with no update (16 October)
  • a credit line disabled, and a limit that never rose in 3 years (16 October)
  • an EMI paid 5 days earlier still not showing (26 October)
  • no reply from support and no toll-free number (18 and 26 October)

The review Play ranks most helpful, from 15 March 2026, praised fast approval in an emergency but called the interest quite high. We can't verify single reviews, but these themes repeat.

Fake Viva Money apps, agents and calls: how to check

FincFriends' home page tells borrowers to beware of any other app or portal naming it as lender. Its list of lending apps has only two firms: Vivamoney Solutions and Moneymitra, the company behind RupeeRedee.

  • One real app. On Play it's "Viva Money: 0% Interest Loan" by VIVAMONEY SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED. Ignore any APK sent on WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS.
  • Nothing to pay upfront. The processing fee goes on your first EMI. Anyone asking for a "processing" or "approval" charge before the payout isn't following Viva's terms.
  • Pay in the app. UPI, debit card and net banking inside the app are free. Never pay a caller's personal UPI ID or QR code.
  • Known collectors. FincFriends lists Viva itself as a collection agency, and the KFS adds Credgenics, Vega, Solveesy, Fairdebt and Collectius. A call from them may be real, so check your dues in the app first.
  • Email domains. Published addresses end in vivamoney.in or fincfriends.in. A Gmail ID claiming to be either is fake.

Viva Money complaints: the order to follow

Save screenshots of the withdrawal screen, any "transfer complete" email and your bank statement. Then go up the ladder:

  1. Chat or email. Use in-app chat or chat@vivamoney.in. No support phone or hours are published. Dues questions go to care@vivamoney.in.
  2. Viva's grievance officer. Mr. Syamprasad Reddy takes complaints by email at gro@vivamoney.in and by phone on +91-8884000361. Viva's terms aim to resolve complaints within 30 days.
  3. The lender. FincFriends' nodal officer, Mr. Karan Chandna, is on 01246914222 and gro@fincfriends.in. Its care line, 0124-6914100, runs Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.
  4. RBI. Still stuck after 30 days? RBI's Integrated Ombudsman takes complaints at cms.rbi.org.in and on 14448.
  5. Cyber fraud. For fake apps, fake agents, threats or money lost to a scam, call 1930 at once.

Each contact is also on our Viva Money customer care page, next to other lender helplines.

Is Viva Money worth using?

It may suit you if:

  • you're 21 to 64, earn ₹15,000 a month or more (or ₹25,000 as a household) and live in a state Viva serves
  • you need a short top-up you can clear by the 20th of next month
  • you're fine paying at least 6% of the draw in fees for that window
  • you lack income papers, since Viva asks only for an original PAN card and Aadhaar

Look elsewhere if:

  • you'll need months to repay, as interest can hit 40% a year and longer plans add a term fee
  • you want a helpline to ring when a payout goes missing
  • you only need small sums, where the ₹600 minimum fee bites hardest
  • your state may not be covered. Play lists Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi and Goa, the FAQ drops Delhi, and FincFriends' site names just four.

Ask two or three regulated lenders for their KFS and compare rupee totals. Stashfin also offers a credit line, so it's the nearest match. True Balance lends similar sums. For more than ₹2,00,000, try KreditBee. Our ratings are in our full Viva Money review.

Frequently asked questions

Is Viva Money real or fake?

Viva Money is real. Vivamoney Solutions Private Limited runs the app, and FincFriends Private Limited, a registered NBFC, lends the money. FincFriends names Viva Money on its own website as a digital lending app. We found no RBI caution or police case against either firm. Real isn't the same as cheap, so check every fee in your KFS.

Is Viva Money RBI registered?

Viva Money holds no lending licence because it doesn't lend. It acts as the service provider for FincFriends Private Limited, which is entry 2329 in RBI's NBFC register published on 15 October 2026. RBI's lending app directory didn't load for us, so search it before you sign.

Is Viva Money's 0% interest really free?

Not quite. Interest is zero only if you repay the whole draw by the 20th of the next month, when the grace period ends. Fees still apply: Play lists 4.5% for processing and 1.5% for grace repayment. On ₹50,000, that's about ₹3,405 above the principal.

What is the Viva Money customer care number?

There's no customer care number for Viva Money. Help comes through in-app chat and chat@vivamoney.in. The only phone on its website is the grievance officer's, +91-8884000361, with email gro@vivamoney.in. The lender FincFriends answers on 0124-6914100, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.

What can I do about Viva Money recovery calls or fake agents?

Viva's terms allow dues calls from 08:00 to 19:00 only, made politely and without harassment. Log each call's time and number, then write to gro@vivamoney.in and gro@fincfriends.in. Never send money to a caller's personal UPI ID. If someone threatens you or a fake agent takes money, call the cybercrime helpline on 1930.

How do I cancel or close a Viva Money loan?

Within 3 days of signing, you can leave under the cooling-off rule with no penalty, but the processing fee stays. Inside the grace period, repay the principal plus the processing and grace repayment fees. On an EMI plan, full closure needs 3 on-time EMIs in a row first, and it costs 4.72% of the principal.

Why hasn't my Viva Money withdrawal reached my bank?

Viva promises money in under 15 minutes, but October 2026 reviews describe transfers marked complete that never arrived. Check your bank statement, then raise it in chat with screenshots. Next, go to the grievance officer, then FincFriends. If 30 days go by without a fix, take it to the RBI Ombudsman.
