NOMO in short
NOMO is the secured card in AU Small Finance Bank's range. You open a fixed deposit of at least ₹20,000 with AU in your sole name, AU mark a lien on 100% of it, and the card is issued against that deposit. The card page FAQ says no documents or income proofs is needed beyond the FD, and the deposit keeps earning its interest while it backs the card.
What sets NOMO apart from most FD cards is the travel side. Its forex markup is 0.99%, the same rate AU's MITC gives its premium Zenith+, and from 10 April 2026 it carries 2 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits in each quarter you spend ₹50,000, plus 2 railway lounge visits a quarter. For a first card that's an unusual mix, the rewards are plain: 2 points per ₹100, worth 0.5%.
The FD terms are the part to read slowly. AU wants a cumulative or reinvestment deposit on auto-renew, created for 24 months 0 days, with no partial withdrawal. You're locking the money for two years, and AU doesn't publish what share of the FD becomes your limit. If secured cards are new to you, our secured cards guide covers the basics.
Status and changes
- NOMO is open to new applications as of 5 November 2026.
- 7 November 2025: AU's KFS cut NOMO's cash withdrawal limit to 50% of the card limit, yet the MITC of 2 November 2026 still says 70%. Both are AU documents, so ask which applies to you.
- 10 April 2026: lounge access set at 2 domestic visits a quarter on ₹50,000 of quarterly spends. The card page FAQ still mention ₹20,000 in the previous quarter, which is the older rule.
- 14 June 2026 and 1 July 2026: new 1% charges on large transport and fuel spends, explained in the fees tab.
The rest of AU's range is on our AU Small Finance Bank credit cards page.
What NOMO charges
NOMO has a one-time joining fee of ₹199 plus taxes, ₹234.82 with 18% GST (₹199 plus ₹35.82), and AU says the card is free from the second year onwards. So there's no annual fee to waive and no spend target to meet. Add-on cards carry no fee.
Interest and the late fee
Revolving interest is 3.75% a month, 45% a year, worked on the average daily balance, the same as all AU retail cards. Carry ₹12,000 for a month and you pay about ₹450 (3.75% of ₹12,000) plus ₹81 GST (18% of ₹450).
The late fee are where NOMO bites hardest. It's 15% of the total amount due, minimum ₹10 and maximum ₹1,300, plus 18% GST, charged when the minimum isn't paid by the due date. On a ₹4,000 bill that's ₹600 (15% of ₹4,000) plus ₹108 GST (18% of ₹600), more than the slab-based fees many banks uses for small bills. The ₹1,300 ceiling starts at about ₹8,667 due (₹1,300 divided by 15%).
Cash and over-limit
Cash withdrawal costs 2.5% of the amount, minimum ₹500, and interest runs from the withdrawal date until you pay in full. How much cash you can take is unclear: 70% of the card limit in the MITC, 50% in the KFS from 7 November 2025. Over-limit is 2.5% of the excess, minimum ₹500, and that also only with your explicit consent.
Category charges
- Rent (domestic): 1% of each payment with a ₹99 minimum, so any rent under ₹9,900 pays the ₹99 floor (₹99 is 1% of ₹9,900).
- Utilities: 1% on a calendar month's total above ₹50,000.
- Fuel, from 1 July 2026: 1% on the whole month's fuel spend once a single fill goes above ₹10,000 or the month's total go above ₹25,000.
- Transport (merchant codes 4111, 4112 and 4784), from 14 June 2026: 1% on the whole month's total if it passes 50% of your limit or ₹25,000, whichever is lower; IRCTC and some travel partners are left out.
- Education through third-party apps: 1%, minimum ₹99. Paying the institution direct cost nothing.
- Payment return 2% of the total due or ₹500, whichever is higher. Card transfer ₹199 plus GST. Xpress EMI 1% (minimum ₹99) plus GST, Instant EMI at a shop or checkout ₹199 plus GST. Reward redemption ₹99 plus GST.
Foreign currency spends carry 0.99%. On a ₹50,000 trip that's ₹495 (0.99% of ₹50,000) plus ₹89.10 GST, against ₹1,750 (3.5% of ₹50,000) before GST at a 3.5% markup.

Points, milestones and lounges
Retail spends earn 2 reward points per ₹100 and AU values a point at ₹0.25, so that's ₹0.50 per ₹100, or 0.5%. Utility and insurance payments earn half, 1 point per ₹100 (0.25%). Points come in multiples of ₹100, so a ₹199 purchase earn only for ₹100. Cash, EMI, fuel, quasi-cash, rent, education, government and BBPS bill payments earn nothing.
- Welcome: 500 points, worth ₹125 (500 times ₹0.25), on your first transaction within 30 days of card setup.
- Quarterly milestones: 500 points on ₹25,000 of retail spends in a quarter, 1,000 points at ₹50,000, with fuel and cash left out. That's ₹125 or ₹250 a quarter (at ₹0.25 a point).
- Cap: 5,000 points a statement cycle, which you'd hit only at ₹2,50,000 of retail spends (5,000 divided by 2, times ₹100).
- Expiry and fee: points last 2 years from the date earned, and each redemption cost ₹99 plus GST, ₹116.82 (₹99 plus ₹17.82).
- Lounges: 2 domestic airport lounge visits in a quarter where you spend ₹50,000, and AU also lists 2 railway lounge visits a quarter. No international lounge access is published.
- Fuel: a 1% surcharge waiver on fills of ₹400 to ₹5,000, up to ₹100 a statement cycle.
Three spenders, worked out
AU doesn't publish the limit a given FD buys, so check that yours covers the spends below.
Minimum FD, ₹6,000 a month. ₹4,000 of retail gives 80 points (40 lots of ₹100 times 2), ₹1,000 of bills gives 10, and ₹1,000 of petrol none, though ₹10 of surcharge is waived (1% of ₹1,000). That's 90 points a month, 1,080 a year (90 times 12), plus 500 welcome points: 1,580 in all, ₹395 (1,580 times ₹0.25). No milestone, as ₹12,000 a quarter (₹4,000 times 3) are below ₹25,000. Take off the ₹234.82 joining fee and one ₹116.82 redemption and ₹43.36 is left in year one (₹395 minus ₹234.82 minus ₹116.82).
Middle FD, ₹20,000 a month. ₹17,000 of retail gives 340 points (170 lots times 2), ₹2,000 of bills 20 and ₹1,000 of fuel none (₹10 waived). Monthly 360 (340 plus 20), so 4,320 a year (360 times 12). Retail of ₹51,000 a quarter (₹17,000 times 3) clears the ₹50,000 milestone for 1,000 points a quarter, 4,000 a year (1,000 times 4), and the lounge bar too, so 8 airport lounge visits a year (2 times 4). With the welcome, the year comes to 8,820 points (4,320 plus 4,000 plus 500), worth ₹2,205 (8,820 times ₹0.25), or ₹1,970.18 after the joining fee (₹2,205 minus ₹234.82).
Large FD, ₹55,000 a month. ₹45,000 of retail gives 900 points (450 lots times 2), ₹5,000 of insurance and bills 50, and ₹5,000 of fuel none, with ₹50 waived (1% of ₹5,000) inside the ₹100 cap. Monthly come to 950 (900 plus 50), so 11,400 a year (950 times 12), plus 4,000 milestone points and 500 welcome: 15,900 points (11,400 plus 4,000 plus 500), worth ₹3,975 (15,900 times ₹0.25). Add a ₹1,00,000 holiday abroad and the markup is ₹990 (0.99% of ₹1,00,000) plus ₹178.20 GST, where a 3.5% card would take ₹3,500 before tax.
| Spender | Monthly spend | Points in year one | Value at ₹0.25 | Airport lounge visits a year | Joining fee with GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum FD | ₹6,000 | 1,580 | ₹395 | 0 | ₹234.82 |
| Middle FD | ₹20,000 | 8,820 | ₹2,205 | 8 | ₹234.82 |
| Large FD | ₹55,000 | 15,900 | ₹3,975 | 8 | ₹234.82 |
From year two the 500 welcome points drop out and so does the joining fee, so the net is coming out ₹109.82 better for everybody (₹234.82 of fee saved minus ₹125 of welcome points).

Eligibility and the FD you need
AU lists a resident Indian aged 18 to 99, an unusually wide age band, and add-on holders must be above 18. No income criterion is there for salaried or self-employed people since the deposit backs the card, and the FAQ says no documents or income proofs are needed beyond it.
FD conditions
- At least ₹20,000, in your sole name with AU. Joint, tax-saver, third-party and non-callable deposits is not accepted.
- Cumulative or reinvestment type, on auto-renew, created for 24 months 0 days.
- A lien goes on 100% of the FD value, and partial withdrawal isn't allowed, though the FD keep earning interest.
- AU doesn't publish the credit limit as a share of the FD. We don't quote AU's FD interest rate either, because it changes often; check both on the day you apply.
How to apply
Use the Apply Now link on the NOMO card page, which opens AU's online card onboarding, where you can also track the application. The AU fixed deposit has to be in place. Support is through AU branches and the AU 0101 app, and the 24x7 card line is 1800 1200 1500.
Even with the deposit, AU makes the decision. The RBI's card Directions tell issuers to weigh each applicant's own financial means before giving a card and to explain any refusal in writing. Once the card is active your repayments starts reaching credit reports, and since 1 July 2026 lenders report to bureaus four times a month (as on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and last day), so a good record shows up sooner. Our guide to cards for people with no credit history has more on that first step.

Who NOMO suits
NOMO is a good first card for a young traveller or frequent domestic flyer with ₹20,000 or more to set aside. The 0.99% markup makes it cheap abroad, the lounge visits come once you spend ₹50,000 in a quarter, and the point value is published, which isn't the case on several FD cards. The joining fee is small and you pay it one time only.
It's a poor fit if you may need the deposit inside two years, because of the 24-month term and no partial withdrawals. Late payers should be careful too: 15% of the total due is very much heavy penalty on small bills. And if fees on redemption annoy you, ₹99 plus GST each time will, so redeem rarely and in bulk.
The balance
You give a two-year FD and ₹234.82 once. You get 0.5% in points, quarterly milestones worth up to ₹250, lounges in ₹50,000 quarters, a low forex markup and a card that's free from the second year. Pay in full and redeem in bulk and it work well. Slip on a due date as a light user and one late fee, ₹708 on a ₹4,000 bill (₹600 plus ₹108 GST), wipes out more than a year of points.
Pros
- Forex markup of 0.99% on foreign currency spends
- 2 domestic airport lounge visits a quarter on ₹50,000 of quarterly spends, plus 2 railway lounge visits
- Published point value: 1 point = ₹0.25, so 0.5% on retail spends
- ₹199 one-time joining fee, free from the second year
- Quarterly milestones of 500 points at ₹25,000 and 1,000 points at ₹50,000
- Age band of 18 to 99 with no income documents
Cons
- FD must be created for 24 months, with no partial withdrawal
- Credit limit as a share of the FD is not published
- Late fee of 15% of the total due, up to ₹1,300, plus GST
- ₹99 plus GST on every redemption
- Cash limit unclear: 70% of the card limit in the MITC, 50% in the KFS
NOMO against other FD-backed cards
Three cards worth setting against NOMO: two more secured cards and AU's own unsecured starter. The numbers are in the table below.
NOMO or IDFC FIRST WOW!
The FIRST WOW! takes the same ₹20,000 minimum FD, sets the limit at 100% of it, has no fee at all and zero forex markup. Its points are valued like NOMO's at ₹0.25, earned at 4 per ₹200, so the same 0.5%. NOMO's edge are the lounge visits and quarterly milestones; WOW!'s are the zero fee, zero markup and a published limit. Frequent flyers who'll cross ₹50,000 a quarter can lean NOMO, everyone else WOW!
NOMO or Kotak Dream Different
Dream Different starts at a ₹10,000 FD, costs ₹424 plus GST to join and pays 2% cashback in cycles with ₹15,000 or more of eligible spends, up to ₹500 a cycle, with a 2% forex markup. For pure cashback at ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month Kotak pay more; for travel, NOMO.
NOMO or AU LIT
If you later qualify for an unsecured card, AU's own LIT is lifetime free and sells features for 90 days at a time, such as a lounge visit for ₹399. It needs income (AU doesn't publish the figure) and an age of 21 to 60 for salaried people, and its forex markup is 3.49%. Browse more on the credit cards hub.
