Axis Bank MY Zone Credit Card Review: Offers Worth More Than Points
Axis Bank MY Zone Credit Card earns only 4 EDGE REWARD points per ₹200, about 0.4%, so its value lies in its offers: ₹120 off Swiggy orders twice a month and a District buy-one-get-one movie deal worth up to ₹200 a month. Axis's MITC fee is ₹500 plus GST a year, though the Visa variant is offered lifetime free till 31 December 2026 as a limited-period offer.

Axis Bank MY Zone: an offers card more than a points card
The MY Zone Credit Card is one of Axis Bank's entry cards, active and issued on Visa or RuPay, and the RuPay version can be linked to UPI for merchant payments. It is aimed at young earners who spend on food delivery, movies and online shopping, and most of its value come from merchant offers rather than points.
On fees, Axis's own documents don't agree, so be clear about which is which. The MITC fixes a ₹500 joining fee and a ₹500 annual fee, plus GST, with no spend-based waiver. The card page and listing separately show "NIL" as a limited-period offer on the Visa network, and the listing say that lifetime-free offer is valid till 31 December 2026. It is an offer, not the card's standing fee, and Axis doesn't say whether it covers the RuPay variant.
Changes from 2024 to 2026
- 1 May 2024: the quarterly domestic lounge visit started needing ₹50,000 of spends in the previous 3 calendar months.
- 20 December 2024: interest raised to 3.75% a month from 3.6%, with new 1% fees on large utility, wallet, fuel and gaming spends and on app-paid education.
- 1 October 2025: unredeemed points can be forfeited 30 days after closure, or if the minimum due stays unpaid over 90 days.
- 1 April 2026: the Sony LIV renewal on ₹1.5 lakh of yearly spends replaced by 1,000 EDGE REWARD points.
- 28 August 2026: currency conversion markup up to 3.5% from 1.5%, a ₹1,300 late fee slab above ₹50,000, and no rewards on tolls.
- 1 November 2026: the District movie offer now need ₹25,000 of spends in the previous 3 months.
MY Zone fees and charges
Per Axis's MITC the joining fee is ₹500 and the annual fee ₹500, with GST on top: ₹90 at 18% (₹500 times 18%), so ₹590 each year. Neither the MITC nor the Key Fact Sheet offer a spend-based waiver, so unless you hold a lifetime-free card the ₹590 is charged every year whatever you spend. The Key Fact Sheet says the fee does not apply if you are given a lifetime-free card or a different fee on your application form. Add-on cards are free.
Interest, late fees and cash
Carried balances cost 3.75% a month, which Axis states as 55.55% a year. Late fees: nil up to ₹500 due, ₹500 on ₹501 to ₹5,000, ₹750 on ₹5,001 to ₹10,000, ₹1,200 on ₹10,001 to ₹50,000 and ₹1,300 above ₹50,000, plus ₹100 a cycle once the minimum is missed two cycles running. Cash withdrawal cost 2.5%, minimum ₹500, with interest from the day of withdrawal, and the over-limit fee is 2.5%, minimum ₹500, only if you opted in.
Spend-based fees
- Rent: 1% of every rent payment, UPI included, plus GST.
- Utilities: 1% once a statement cycle's utility payments reaches ₹25,000.
- Wallet loads and online skill-based gaming: 1% each from ₹10,000 a cycle; fuel: 1% from ₹50,000 a cycle.
- Education through third-party apps: 1%; paying on the institution's own website or machine is exempt.
- Foreign currency: 3.5%, and the same on rupee payments abroad or to merchants registered overseas.
- Cash payment at a branch: ₹175. Redeeming points: ₹99 per redemption; transfers to partner programmes: ₹199.
Fuel gets a 1% surcharge waiver on ₹400 to ₹4,000 fills, up to ₹400 a statement cycle, on UPI too, but the GST on the surcharge are not refunded.

EDGE points, offers and three young spenders
The card earns 4 EDGE REWARD points per ₹200. Axis doesn't print a point value for MY Zone, but its value chart shows ₹600 a year of EDGE Rewards on ₹1,50,000 of spends, which is 3,000 points (₹1,50,000 divided by 200, times 4), so about ₹0.20 a point. The base return is therefore 0.4% (4 points times ₹0.20 is ₹0.80 per ₹200). The ₹99 redemption fee eat into this, so redeem in one go each year.
No points on movies, fuel, insurance, wallet loads, rent, utilities, education, government, EMI, jewellery, gift cards, or bridge, road and toll fees. The one milestone, from 1 April 2026, is 1,000 bonus points (about ₹200) on ₹1.5 lakh of spends in a card anniversary year, and the excluded categories don't count for it. Points expire 3 years after they are given, or after 365 days with no account activity.
The offers do the heavy lifting:
- District buy one get one: 100% off the second movie ticket, up to ₹200 a month, once a month. From 1 November 2026 it need ₹25,000 of spends in the previous 3 calendar months, waived for new cards in the month of issue and the next 3.
- Swiggy: flat ₹120 off orders of ₹500 or more, twice a month.
- Cleartrip: 7% off flights up to ₹2,000 and 18% off hotels up to ₹4,000, once a month each.
- Welcome: a Sony LIV Premium annual subscription worth ₹1,499 on your first purchase within 30 days of issue.
Light: ₹10,000 a month
₹8,000 of eligible shopping and dining earns 160 points a month (₹8,000 divided by 200, times 4), 1,920 a year, worth ₹384, or ₹285 after one ₹99 redemption. Using the Swiggy offer twice a month saves ₹240 a month, ₹2,880 a year. Together that's ₹3,165, or ₹2,575 after a ₹590 fee; on a lifetime-free Visa card the full ₹3,165 stays. The other ₹2,000 of bills and fuel earn nothing.
Typical: ₹25,000 a month
₹19,000 of eligible spends gives 380 points a month, 4,560 a year, and ₹2,28,000 of eligible yearly spends (₹19,000 times 12) clears ₹1.5 lakh for the 1,000-point bonus: 5,560 points, about ₹1,112, or ₹1,013 after the ₹99 fee. Add ₹2,880 from Swiggy and ₹2,400 from the District offer once a month (₹200 times 12), as ₹75,000 of spends every 3 months (₹25,000 times 3) beats the ₹25,000 rule. That is ₹6,293, or ₹5,703 after a ₹590 fee, and the same ₹75,000 earns the quarterly lounge visit. The ₹6,000 left on bills, fuel and insurance earn nothing.
Heavy: ₹60,000 a month
₹48,000 of eligible spends gives 960 points a month, 11,520 a year, plus the 1,000 bonus: 12,520 points, about ₹2,504, or ₹2,405 after the fee. The offers add the same ₹5,280 (₹2,880 plus ₹2,400), as they don't grow with spending, for ₹7,685 a year, or ₹7,095 after a ₹590 fee. A plain 1% cashback card would return ₹5,760 on the ₹5,76,000 of eligible spends alone (₹48,000 times 12, at 1%), so for heavy spender the points are a weak deal.
| Spender | Monthly spend | Points after ₹99 redemption | Swiggy and District offers | Total a year | After a ₹590 fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | ₹10,000 | ₹285 | ₹2,880 | ₹3,165 | ₹2,575 |
| Typical | ₹25,000 | ₹1,013 | ₹5,280 | ₹6,293 | ₹5,703 |
| Heavy | ₹60,000 | ₹2,405 | ₹5,280 | ₹7,685 | ₹7,095 |

Eligibility and applying for MY Zone
The primary cardholder must be 18 to 70 years old and either a resident of India or a Non-Resident Indian. Axis publish no income figure for MY Zone; its general card criteria mention a minimum income of ₹15,000 a month and call such criteria indicative.
- PAN card copy.
- Income proof: latest payslip, Form 16 or income tax return.
- Residence proof: passport, ration card, electricity bill or landline telephone bill.
Apply on Axis Bank's website, where you choose the card, enter your mobile number and PAN or date of birth, check eligibility and offers and verify by OTP; the Axis Mobile app and Axis branches also take applications. If you want UPI on credit, ask for the RuPay variant, keeping in mind the lifetime-free offer is stated only for Visa. On UPI only merchant payments works, and Axis applies its card fees, the 1% rent fee included, to UPI transactions too.
Axis looks at your credit history and score; Experian scores run from 300 to 900, and above 750 is generally considered good. The RBI's 2025 card Directions for commercial banks require the bank to assess your own financial means and your other card limits, give you a one-page Key Fact Statement and give specific reasons in writing if it say no. Approval is Axis Bank's decision. For help with an existing card, see our Axis Bank customer care page.

Who MY Zone suits
MY Zone fits a young salaried person with a modest budget who orders on Swiggy twice a month and goes to the movies once a month. Those two offers alone are worth up to ₹5,280 a year, far more than the points will ever give at 0.4%. Get the Visa variant while the lifetime-free offer run and the card costs nothing to hold.
The weaknesses are just as clear. Points are slow and costs ₹99 to redeem, bills, fuel, rent and insurance earn nothing, and there is no way to spend your way out of the ₹590 fee when the offer don't apply. The movie deal now needs ₹25,000 of spends every 3 months, the lounge visit needs ₹50,000, and forex costs 3.5%.
- Gains most: first-time cardholders who use Swiggy and District regularly, and people wanting a RuPay card on UPI.
- Should skip: anyone hoping to earn real rewards on regular spends, and frequent travellers.
- Heavy spenders will do better on a cashback card with a 1% base rate.
One more habit to keep: EDGE REWARD points lapse after 365 days without account activity, so a card kept only for the offers still need a little regular use.
Pros
- Swiggy ₹120 off on orders of ₹500 or more, twice a month
- District buy-one-get-one movie offer worth up to ₹200 a month
- Visa variant offered lifetime free till 31 December 2026
- RuPay variant works on UPI for merchant payments
- Sony LIV Premium annual subscription worth ₹1,499 as a welcome benefit
Cons
- ₹500 plus GST a year per the MITC, with no spend-based waiver
- 4 EDGE REWARD points per ₹200, about 0.4%, and ₹99 per redemption
- No points on bills, fuel, rent, insurance, movies or wallet loads
- Lounge visit needs ₹50,000 of spends in the previous 3 months
- Interest of 3.75% a month, or 55.55% a year
MY Zone against other entry cards
IDFC FIRST Millennia is lifetime free as its standing terms, not an offer, and earns 3 points per ₹200 at ₹0.25 a point (0.375%), with 10 points per ₹200 on dining, travel and birthday spends. Its forex markup is zero since 9 September 2026, against 3.5% on MY Zone, but it has no airport lounge, its UPI runs through a FIRST Digital RuPay card costing ₹199 plus GST, and it asks for ₹3 lakh of annual income.
ICICI Bank Coral also costs ₹500 plus GST, but ICICI reverses the fee for that year on ₹1.5 lakh of spends (its card page words this as a waiver for the next year), something MY Zone lacks. It earns 2 points per ₹100 on retail spends, is a RuPay card that works on UPI, and gives 1 domestic lounge visit a quarter on ₹75,000 of spends in the previous quarter. It needs a monthly income of ₹20,000.
MY Zone Easy is Axis's fixed deposit version: the same ₹500 plus ₹500 fee and 4 points per ₹200, 25% cashback on movie tickets up to ₹1,000 a year instead of the District offer, no lounge, and Visa only, so no UPI. It needs an Axis FD of ₹15,000 to ₹25 lakh, gives a limit of 80% to 90% of the FD and asks no income proof, which suit people new to credit.
Which one to pick
MY Zone for Swiggy and movie offers and an Axis RuPay card on UPI; IDFC FIRST Millennia for a standing lifetime-free card with zero forex; Coral for a fee you can earn back; MY Zone Easy if you are new to credit and can lock an FD.
