Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank: which card this page is about
Two banks issue a card called Tata Neu Infinity. This page review HDFC Bank's, the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card; SBI Card's version has different lounge, UPI and NeuCoin rules, compared in the Similar cards tab. The HDFC card is active and open for applications.
It pays in NeuCoins, worth ₹1 each on the Tata Neu app and eligible Tata brands: 5% on partner brands such as BigBasket, Croma, Tata CLiQ, Westside, Titan, Tata 1mg, IHCL hotels and Air India, and 1.5% on most other spends. It comes on Visa or RuPay, and RuPay works on UPI.

What the HDFC Tata Neu Infinity card costs
The fee is ₹1,499 a year, joining and renewal, plus GST. At 18% that's ₹269.82 of tax, so about ₹1,769 in all. In year one Tata Digital gives back 1,499 NeuCoins as a fee reversal if you transact within 30 days of issue and claim them in the Tata Neu App. The GST part don't get refunded.
From the second year, spending ₹3 lakh in the year before renewal waives the fee. That needs ₹25,000 a month (₹3,00,000 divided by 12). For a family buying groceries on BigBasket and paying bills on the card this is quite reachable, a single person using it only for Tata brands may fall short.
Interest and penalties
The finance charge is 3.75% a month, 45% a year, plus GST. Carrying ₹30,000 for 40 days cost about ₹1,479 (40 times ₹30,000 times 45%, divided by 365), about three months of a light user's NeuCoins. Late fees follow HDFC's bill slabs, for example ₹600 on a ₹1,001 to ₹5,000 bill and ₹1,100 on ₹25,001 to ₹50,000, plus GST, after 3 grace days.
Other charges
- Forex markup 2% plus GST.
- Fuel: 1% surcharge waived on fills between ₹400 and ₹5,000, up to ₹500 a statement cycle; a single fuel bill over ₹15,000 draws a 1% fee.
- Rent 1% per payment; wallet loads over ₹10,000 a month 1%; utility bills over ₹50,000 a month 1%; all capped at ₹4,999.
- Cash advance: 2.5% or ₹500, whichever is higher. Over-limit: 2.5%, minimum ₹550, only with consent.
- Add-on cards: free. Redemptions: no processing fee. Lost card replacement: ₹199.

NeuCoins: rates, caps and three spending patterns
The 5% on Tata brands is 1.5% base plus 3.5% extra, and the extra part posts the day after the purchase settles since 26 December 2025. Each brands has a monthly fair-usage spend limit, from ₹50,000 at Qmin and ₹1,00,000 at BigBasket up to ₹8,00,000 at IHCL and Air India. NeuPass members can earn another 5% on selected categories bought on the Tata Neu app or website, but not on Tata Pay bills, Tanishq, Cult.fit, Air India or Tata Play.
Other non-EMI spends earn 1.5%. On UPI with the RuPay card you get 0.5% from any UPI app and 1.5% with the Tata Neu UPI ID, capped at 500 NeuCoins a month, a limit you hit at about ₹33,334 of Tata Neu UPI spend (500 divided by 1.5%). Grocery, insurance, utilities and telecom are each capped at 2,000 a month. Fuel, rent, government, wallet loads, vouchers, education via apps and gaming earns nothing. NeuCoins count on multiples of ₹100.
Lounges: 2 domestic vouchers for each quarter with ₹50,000 of spends (claim within 120 days, use within 180) and up to 4 international visits a year on either network.
| Monthly spend | Light ₹20,000 | Typical ₹45,000 | Heavy ₹1,00,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tata brands at 5% | ₹5,000: 250 | ₹10,000: 500 | ₹40,000: 2,000 |
| UPI with Tata Neu UPI ID | ₹5,000: 75 | ₹10,000: 150 | ₹40,000: 500 (capped) |
| Other spends at 1.5% | ₹10,000: 150 | ₹25,000: 375 | ₹20,000: 300 |
| NeuCoins a year | 5,700 | 12,300 | 33,600 |
| Fee from year two | About ₹1,769 | Waived | Waived |
Light: ₹4,000 on BigBasket and ₹1,000 on Tata CLiQ give 250 NeuCoins, UPI 75, the rest 150, so 475 a month and 5,700 a year. Yearly spend is ₹2.4 lakh (₹20,000 times 12), short of ₹3 lakh, so the fee applies and 5,700 minus about 1,769 leaves about ₹3,931. Quarters of ₹60,000 still earn 2 lounge vouchers each.
Typical: ₹6,000 BigBasket, ₹3,000 Croma and ₹1,000 Tata 1mg earn 500; with 150 from UPI and 375 from the rest that's 1,025 a month and 12,300 a year. ₹5.4 lakh of yearly spend (₹45,000 times 12) waives the fee.
Heavy: ₹15,000 of Air India flights, ₹10,000 at IHCL, ₹8,000 on BigBasket and ₹7,000 at Croma, ₹40,000 in all, earn 2,000. UPI of ₹40,000 would give 600 at 1.5% but stop at 500. Add 300 from the rest: 2,000 plus 500 plus 300 is 2,800 a month and 33,600 a year, well under the 50,000 a statement cycle limit.

Eligibility and applying for the HDFC version
HDFC publishes an income floor here, which SBI Card doesn't for its version. Salaried applicants should be 21 to 60 years old with gross monthly income above ₹1 lakh. Self-employed applicants should be 21 to 65 with an ITR above ₹12 lakh a year. The card is for Indian nationals, and approval is at the bank's discretion subject to documentation and verification.
There isn't a card-specific document list on HDFC's pages. Its general guidance is to keep identity, address and income proof ready; if you already bank with HDFC you might not need to submit them. Apply online using the card page's Apply Now button or at an HDFC Bank branch. You choose Visa or RuPay; pick RuPay if UPI payments on credit is the reason you want this card.
What the bank looks at
- Your own financial means and the card limits you hold with other banks, as the RBI's 2025 card Directions requires.
- Your score on a 300 to 900 scale. Experian treat above 750 as generally good.
- Tata Digital doesn't decide. In a co-brand card the partner only market it and cannot see your transactions; the issuing bank decide and is liable for the advertised NeuCoins.
A rejection must come with written reasons.

Who should take the HDFC Tata Neu Infinity card
The winner is a household already living inside the Tata ecosystem: BigBasket groceries, Croma gadgets, Tata 1mg medicines, the odd Air India flight. Add RuPay UPI payments through the Tata Neu UPI ID and almost every rupee earn 1.5% to 5%. With ₹3 lakh a year on the card the fee goes, and the 2% forex and spend-linked lounges are a bonus.
Skip it if you rarely buy from Tata brands. Then it's just a 1.5% card with a fee, and you have to claim every NeuCoin and spend it on Tata Neu, which is a closed loop. People who prefers rupee cashback on their statement will find a card like Flipkart Axis simpler.
The biggest trade-off from 25 November 2026 is effort: claims within 12 months, at least 100 coins at a time, and claimed coins expires 12 months later. Fine for an active Tata Neu user, but very much NeuCoins can be lost by someone who forgets. On the plus side, HDFC's 2026 to 2027 group policy names Tata Neu Infinity for air accident cover of USD 125,000, credit shield of ₹9,00,000 and flight delay cover of USD 313.

- NeuCoins can be spent only on Tata Neu and eligible Tata brands
- UPI NeuCoins are capped at 500 a month, and other UPI apps earn only 0.5%
- Grocery, insurance, utility and telecom NeuCoins are capped at 2,000 a month each
- Gross monthly income above ₹1 lakh is needed for salaried applicants

The differences are practical. Its NeuCoins move to your NeuPass account automatically within 7 working days of the statement, while HDFC asks you to claim from 25 November 2026.
