What BOBCARD Cashback offers
BOBCARD Cashback is the plain cashback card from BOBCARD Limited, the card subsidiary of Bank of Baroda. The deal has two rates. Domestic online spends earn 5%, made of a 1% base and a 4% accelerated part, while nearly everything else earns 1%, spends abroad included. Cashback is auto-credited to the statement, so there is no points to convert or redeem.
The card is active and runs on Mastercard. BOBCARD's page doesn't say whether a RuPay version exists, so don't plan on using it over UPI.
What matters most
- The cap and the condition. The extra 4% stops at ₹1,500 a statement, and you get it only after at least 4 transactions in that cycle. The card page words the cap as "up to ₹1500/month", but the terms say per statement, which is what this review follow.
- Big exclusions. Supermarkets, fast food, rent, wallets, education, government, insurance, transport and tolls, fuel and ATM cash earn no cashback, and neither does any transaction under ₹100.
- A fee you can't waive. You pick either ₹499 a year or ₹49 a month, plus GST, and can switch plan only once in the card's whole life.
Status and changes
BOBCARD hasn't posted any card-specific change to Cashback for 2024 to 2026, and it doesn't publish a launch date neither. The changes touching it are lineup-wide: from 1 April 2026, a 1% fee on education paid through third-party apps, on toll and bus payments of ₹5,000 or more, and on railway bookings of ₹30,000 or more.
BOBCARD has also shown a ₹0 joining fee on some card pages since 1 September 2026 as a limited-period offer. The Cashback page and the MITC we read still lists the ₹49 monthly and ₹499 yearly plans, so treat any zero-fee banner as an offer only. In RBI's September 2026 statistics, 3,491,782 credit cards sit under the name Bank of Baroda, against 3,072,859 a year before; RBI has no separate row for BOBCARD. More of the range is on our Bank of Baroda cards page.
BOBCARD Cashback fees
Two fee plans
At the start you choose between a ₹49 monthly fee and a ₹499 fee charged on joining and every year after. GST at 18% is added to either. Over a full year the monthly plan cost ₹588, or ₹693.84 with GST, against ₹588.82 for the yearly plan, so the yearly plan saves ₹105.02 if you keep the card all year.
The monthly plan makes sense only when you are trying the card and might close it soon: three months at ₹49 is ₹147 plus GST. BOBCARD allow one plan change during the card's entire life, and neither plan carries any spend-based waiver or reversal.
Up to 3 add-on cards are free, for a spouse, parents, siblings or children above 18 age. BOBCARD also says the Cashback card itself can't be issued as an additional card, and that existing BOBCARD variants cannot be upgraded to it, or it to them.
Interest and penalties
Finance charges run at 3.75% a month, 45% a year. Late payment charges goes by the size of the statement balance: nothing below ₹100, ₹750 for a balance of ₹1,001 to ₹10,000, ₹950 for ₹10,001 to ₹25,000, and ₹1,300 once it is above ₹50,000. So a ₹12,000 bill paid late costs ₹950 plus GST.
Withdrawing cash is charged at 2.5% or ₹500, the higher of the two, and finance charges run from the day of withdrawal. Overshooting your limit costs 2.5% of the excess or ₹600, again the higher.
Usage fees and forex
- Forex mark-up of 3.5% on foreign currency spends.
- Rent (MCC 6513) and wallet loading: 1% each.
- Utilities: 1% on a single transaction of ₹50,000 or more, up to ₹3,000.
- Fuel: 1% on a transaction of ₹10,000 or more.

- A cash payment of your bill carries a ₹250 processing fee and a cheque payment ₹100; a bounced cheque or auto-debit costs 2%, with a ₹500 minimum.
The fuel surcharge waiver refunds 1% on fills from ₹400 to ₹5,000, up to ₹250 a statement cycle, but fuel itself earn no cashback.

How the cashback works
Every eligible domestic online purchase earn 5%. BOBCARD splits that into the 1% base and a 4% accelerated part, and only the 4% is capped, at ₹1,500 a statement. Since 4% of ₹37,500 is ₹1,500, the full 5% runs until your online spend in a cycle reaches ₹37,500; after that, online purchases earn the 1% base only.
The accelerated part also needs at least 4 transactions in the statement cycle. One big online order and nothing else would earn only 1%, so a person who shop online only now and then should keep it in mind.
Offline purchases in shops, international spends and other eligible categories earn 1%. Anything under ₹100 earns nothing.
What earns nothing
BOBCARD's Annexure 1 list of merchant codes is long: rent, wallets, education, government, insurance, supermarkets, fast food, transport and tolls among others. Fuel, ATM cash and quasi-cash are out as well. Supermarkets is the exclusion that hurts families most, because the weekly grocery run at a big supermarket returns zero.
Value and expiry
Cashback is worth face value, ₹1 for ₹1, and arrives on the statement without any redemption fee. There is no welcome gift and no milestone bonus. Pending cashback is lost if you cancel the card, convert to another variant, or the card get blocked for non-payment or a breach of terms.
Three worked examples
These assume one statement a month, at least 4 online transactions in each, and the yearly plan at ₹588.82 with GST.
Light: ₹10,000 a month
| Spend | Amount | Cashback |
|---|---|---|
| Online orders (6 of them) | ₹6,000 | ₹300 at 5% |
| Clothing and electronics stores | ₹4,000 | ₹40 at 1% |
| Total | ₹10,000 | ₹340 |
₹300 is well inside the cap. Yearly cashback comes to ₹4,080 (₹340 times 12), or ₹3,491.18 after the fee.
Typical: ₹25,000 a month
| Spend | Amount | Cashback |
|---|---|---|
| Online orders | ₹15,000 | ₹750 at 5% |
| In-store shopping | ₹5,000 | ₹50 at 1% |
| Supermarket | ₹3,000 | Nil (excluded) |
| Fuel | ₹2,000 | Nil; ₹20 surcharge waived |
Monthly cashback is ₹800, and the year brings ₹9,600, which is ₹9,011.18 once the fee is paid, plus about ₹240 of fuel surcharge refunds (₹20 a month).
Heavy: ₹60,000 a month
| Spend | Amount | Cashback |
|---|---|---|
| Online orders | ₹45,000 | ₹450 base and ₹1,500 accelerated (4% would be ₹1,800) |
| In-store shopping | ₹10,000 | ₹100 at 1% |
| Spends abroad | ₹5,000 | ₹50, against ₹175 mark-up and ₹31.50 GST |
The cap trims ₹300 off the online cashback, so the month brings ₹2,100 and the year ₹25,200, or ₹24,611.18 after the fee. The foreign spends lose money though, ₹50 back against ₹206.50 of mark-up and GST, so keep a low-forex card for trips.

How BOBCARD decides
BOBCARD is a NBFC, so it follow the RBI's 2025 credit card Directions written for NBFCs, which run in parallel with the bank rules. It must check your independent repayment means, factor in the limits you hold elsewhere, hand you a Key Fact Statement and, if it rejects you, tell you why in writing. Who BOBCARD Cashback suits
The best user orders online several times a month and spends anywhere up to ₹37,500 a cycle that way. Such a person gets a clean 5% with no partner list to remember, and the cashback simply reduce the next bill.
It is friendly to first-time applicants on a modest salary too, since the published floor is ₹25,000 a month. And the ₹49 monthly plan lets you test the card for a few month without paying for a full year upfront.
The people who should look elsewhere are families whose biggest bill is the supermarket, frequent fast-food buyers and anyone filling a lot of fuel, because those spends earn nothing. Travellers too, with no lounges and a 3.5% mark-up.
The real trade-off is the fee against the rate. BOBCARD never waives the ₹499, but at 5% online you recover the ₹588.82 after about ₹11,776 of online spend in a year (₹588.82 divided by 5%). For a regular online shopper that happen inside two months.
