IndusInd Bank Jio-bp Mobility+ Credit Card Review: 12 Smiles at the Pump
The IndusInd Bank Jio-bp Mobility+ Credit Card has no annual fee, and its ₹499 plus GST joining fee is charged only if you spend less than ₹10,000 in the first 90 days. It earns 12 Smiles per ₹100 at Jio-bp outlets, capped at 1,200 Smiles a statement cycle, and as a RuPay card it works on UPI. IndusInd does not say what a Smile is worth, so its value rests on how often you redeem at Jio-bp.

What the Jio-bp Mobility+ card does
Picture somebody who fills up twice a month at the Jio-bp station near home, buys a coffee at the wild bean cafe there now and then, and wants a card that cost nothing to keep. That person is who IndusInd Bank and Reliance BP Mobility Ltd, the company known as Jio-bp, built this co-branded card for. It runs on RuPay, so it can be linked to UPI apps as well as used as a normal card.
Rewards come as Smiles, Jio-bp's loyalty points, and they can be spend at Jio-bp outlets only: fuel stations, wild bean cafe, convenience stores and Jio-bp Pulse EV charging, with an OTP at the counter. Outside that network a Smile has no use, so the card is only as good as the Jio-bp pump in your area.
What matters most
- The fee rule. No annual fee at all. The ₹499 plus GST joining fee is levied only if you spend less than ₹10,000 within 90 days of card setup.
- The Jio-bp rate and its ceiling. 12 Smiles per ₹100 on all Jio-bp spends, but no more than 1,200 Smiles in a statement cycle from Jio-bp, which is reached at ₹10,000 of Jio-bp spend (1,200 ÷ 12 x ₹100).
- No published value. IndusInd does not say what one Smile is worth in rupees. Its listing page claims up to 60 litres of free fuel a year, but no calculation is shown behind it, so we can't check.
Status and changes
The card is active and you can apply online. We could not find a launch date on IndusInd's pages. The change that matter most for a fuel card came on 15 June 2026, when IndusInd started a 1% plus GST fee on cumulative fuel spends above ₹30,000 in a statement cycle on this card. The same date brought new late-payment slabs, a 1% plus GST fee on transport spends other than air above ₹40,000, and a 2% plus GST fee on dynamic currency conversion.
Most drivers won't come close to ₹30,000 of fuel in a cycle. Cab owners and people running two cars for business, they should keep an eye on it.
Jio-bp Mobility+ fees and charges
The annual fee is nil, every year. The only fee you may meet at the start is the ₹499 joining fee plus GST, which comes to ₹588.82 at the 18% rate (₹499 plus ₹89.82), and IndusInd charge it only when spends of ₹10,000 are not met in the first 90 days from card setup. Spread over three months that is a little over ₹3,333 a month (₹10,000 ÷ 3), which most households cross with fuel and groceries alone.
The MITC also notes that the actual fee is conveyed during application, and welcome gifts on IndusInd cards are tied to select fee plans. So the offer page, not an advert, is what tells you your fee. For add-on cards also no fee is there.
If you carry a balance
Interest on this card is 3.95% a month, which is 47.4% a year, among the highest rates in IndusInd's range. Leave ₹20,000 unpaid for a month and the interest is about ₹790 (3.95% of ₹20,000), plus GST. For a card whose rewards are modest, revolving is a quick way to wipe out a whole year of Smiles in one go.
Late fees use the slabs that started on 15 June 2026. A balance of ₹101 to ₹500 attract ₹100, ₹5,001 to ₹10,000 attracts ₹750, ₹10,001 to ₹25,000 attracts ₹900, and the top slab is ₹1,300 for more than ₹50,000. IndusInd waits 3 grace days after the due date before adding the fee.
Cash, forex and other charges
- Cash advance costs 2.5% of the amount with a ₹300 minimum, plus interest from the transaction date. On ₹8,000 the 2.5% works out to ₹200, so the ₹300 minimum is what you pay.
- Foreign currency spends carry a 3.5% mark-up. Rupee payments at international locations or overseas-registered merchants attract a separate 2% plus GST dynamic currency conversion fee since 15 June 2026.
- Over-limit is 2.5% of the excess, minimum ₹500. A bounced payment cost ₹250 and paying cash at an IndusInd branch, ₹100.
Category fees to watch
Rent paid through third-party merchants draws 1% plus GST on every transaction. Utilities, wallet loads and education payments made through third-party apps are charged 1% plus GST once the cycle's total crosses ₹25,000, ₹20,000 and ₹45,000 respectively. Fuel beyond ₹30,000 a cycle and non-air transport MCCs 4111, 4112, 4784 and 4131 beyond ₹40,000 got the same 1% plus GST treatment from 15 June 2026.
The fuel surcharge waiver is 1%, and only at Jio-bp fuel stations. At any other pump there is no waiver, and IndusInd does not publish the transaction range or the monthly cap for the Jio-bp waiver either, which is a gap a careful buyer should discuss about with the bank.

Smiles: how you earn and what you can do with them
| Where you spend | Smiles per ₹100 | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| All Jio-bp spends: petrol, diesel, Castrol lubes, wild bean cafe, Pulse EV charging, convenience stores | 12 | 1,200 Smiles a statement cycle |
| Dining, supermarket and grocery | 5 | No cap stated |
| All other spends | 2 | No cap stated |
| Fuel at other stations, insurance, government, utility, rent | 0 | Excluded |
The bank does not say whether Jio-bp spend beyond the cap drops to 2 Smiles or earns nothing, so for our sums nothing above it we counted. We also could not find a Smiles expiry rule in the card's pages. Redemption is by OTP at Jio-bp outlets and the MITC says no redemption fee apply on this card.
Bonuses on top
- Welcome: 400 bonus Smiles after your first fuel transaction at Jio-bp within 30 days of card setup, and a wild bean cafe coupon worth ₹200 on your first wild bean cafe purchase in the same 30 days, where your fee plan is including welcome benefits.
- Monthly: 200 Smiles when your Jio-bp spends reach ₹4,000 or more in a statement cycle.
- Annual: 2,000 Smiles on ₹1,00,000 of spends in a card anniversary year, and 2,000 more on the next ₹1,00,000, so 4,000 in total at ₹2 lakh.
- Roadside assistance 24x7 in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore, on toll-free 1800 571 3981.
Because a Smile has no published rupee value, the three examples count Smiles, not money. The annual fee is nil, so whatever you collect is pure gain, as long as you avoid the joining fee in the first 90 days. Whether the monthly 200 Smiles sit inside or outside the 1,200 cap is not stated; we kept them outside.
Light user: ₹8,000 a month
| Spend a month | Working | Smiles |
|---|---|---|
| ₹3,000 fuel at Jio-bp | 3,000 ÷ 100 x 12 | 360 |
| ₹2,000 grocery and dining | 2,000 ÷ 100 x 5 | 100 |
| ₹2,000 other shopping | 2,000 ÷ 100 x 2 | 40 |
| ₹1,000 electricity bill | Excluded | 0 |
| One year | (360 + 100 + 40) x 12 | 6,000 |
This person spends ₹96,000 in the year (₹8,000 x 12), just ₹4,000 short of the first annual milestone, and their ₹3,000 of Jio-bp fuel misses the ₹4,000 monthly milestone too. Moving ₹1,000 more of fuel to Jio-bp each month would add 120 Smiles (1,000 ÷ 100 x 12) plus the 200 bonus. The joining fee is no worry: ₹24,000 in 90 days (₹8,000 x 3) clears ₹10,000 easily.
Typical user: ₹20,000 a month
| Spend a month | Working | Smiles |
|---|---|---|
| ₹5,000 at Jio-bp | 5,000 ÷ 100 x 12 | 600 |
| Monthly milestone | Jio-bp spend over ₹4,000 | 200 |
| ₹6,000 dining and grocery | 6,000 ÷ 100 x 5 | 300 |
| ₹7,000 other spends | 7,000 ÷ 100 x 2 | 140 |
| ₹2,000 insurance and utilities | Excluded | 0 |
| One year | (600 + 200 + 300 + 140) x 12 | 14,880 |
| Annual milestones | 2,000 + 2,000 | 4,000 |
| Year total | 14,880 + 4,000 | 18,880 |
Yearly spend is ₹2,40,000 (₹20,000 x 12), and even if insurance and utilities don't count, ₹2,16,000 (₹20,000 minus ₹2,000, x 12) still crosses ₹2 lakh. Here the milestones does as much work as the Jio-bp rate, they add 4,000 Smiles for nothing.
Heavy user: ₹45,000 a month with a long commute
| Spend a month | Working | Smiles |
|---|---|---|
| ₹14,000 at Jio-bp | 14,000 ÷ 100 x 12 = 1,680, capped | 1,200 |
| Monthly milestone | Jio-bp spend over ₹4,000 | 200 |
| ₹12,000 dining and grocery | 12,000 ÷ 100 x 5 | 600 |
| ₹15,000 other spends | 15,000 ÷ 100 x 2 | 300 |
| ₹4,000 insurance and utilities | Excluded | 0 |
| One year | (1,200 + 200 + 600 + 300) x 12 | 27,600 |
| Year total with milestones | 27,600 + 4,000 | 31,600 |
The cap costs this driver 480 Smiles a month (1,680 minus 1,200), or 5,760 a year (480 x 12), because the last ₹4,000 of Jio-bp spend earns nothing by our reading. Fuel of ₹14,000 a cycle is well below the ₹30,000 fee line. If you spend this much at the pump, put only ₹10,000 a cycle on this card and the rest on a second fuel card.

Who can get it and how to apply
There are no card-specific rules on the Jio-bp Mobility+ page. IndusInd's listing page gives general criteria for its Indus Easy Credit cards instead, and they are quite lenient comparing to premium cards: you must be 18 to 70 years old, earn a net monthly income of at least ₹20,000, and have a good CIBIL score. Salaried people and self-employed people can both apply.
The process is online and paperless. Keep your Aadhaar number and PAN handy; a separate address proof is needed only when your current address do not match Aadhaar. After you enter basic details and pick the card offer, you sign digitally and do Video KYC. A virtual card can be generated as soon as you are approved, and the plastic card is reaching you in about 5 days.
What decides approval
Meeting the criteria is only the first step. The RBI's 2025 card Directions require IndusInd to judge your credit risk on your own financial means and to look at all credit limits you hold elsewhere, using your declaration or credit bureau data, before it sets a limit. The RBI does not prescribe any minimum income or age for a card; that is the bank's policy, and the final yes or no belongs to IndusInd.
For a first card, people ask about credit score very much. CRIF says its scores generally range from 300 to 900 and that above 700 is generally considered good, while someone with no history at all gets an 'NH' report rather than a score. If you are new to credit, it helps to know that before applying.
Using it on UPI
Once linked to a UPI app, the card can pay merchants only. NPCI's rules for RuPay credit cards on UPI don't allow person-to-person transfers or cash withdrawal, and the daily UPI limit is ₹1 lakh within your card limit, ₹2 lakh for some merchant categories. Linking costs nothing, though fuel surcharges can still apply. The card page doesn't say whether a UPI payment at a Jio-bp pump earns 12 Smiles, so check your first statement before depending it.

These are the bank's published conditions. Meeting them does not guarantee a card: approval and the credit limit are the bank's decision.
Is this the right fuel card for you
The honest answer depend on one thing: where you fill up. If a Jio-bp station sits on your daily route and you spend ₹4,000 or more there each cycle, the card gives you 12 Smiles per ₹100, a 200-Smile monthly bonus, a fuel surcharge waiver at that pump, and no annual fee to justify. For a beginner who wants a RuPay card on UPI, it is also an easy first card with low entry rules.
It falls apart if your usual pump is another brand. Fuel elsewhere earns zero and gets no surcharge waiver, and the 2 Smiles per ₹100 on general spends is very much less, especially when Smiles can only be used back at Jio-bp. People wanting travel perks should look away: there is no lounge access, the forex mark-up is 3.5% and Priority Pass is not available.
The trade-offs
The biggest weakness is the transparency. Without a rupee value for a Smile you can't compare this card fairly with fuel cards that publish one, and the "60 litres" line has no working behind it. Against that, the cost is close to zero, because you avoid the joining fee by spending ₹10,000 in 90 days and there is never an annual fee. Interest of 3.95% a month is steep, so pay in full.
Heavy drivers get capped at ₹10,000 of Jio-bp spend a cycle. Beyond that, a second card for the extra litres.
Pros
- No annual fee, and the ₹499 joining fee is waived if you spend ₹10,000 in the first 90 days
- 12 Smiles per ₹100 at Jio-bp outlets, plus 200 bonus Smiles in a cycle with ₹4,000 of Jio-bp spend
- 5 Smiles per ₹100 on dining, supermarket and grocery with no cap stated
- Annual milestones of 2,000 Smiles at ₹1,00,000 and 2,000 more on the next ₹1,00,000
- RuPay card that works on UPI, with roadside assistance in 6 cities
Cons
- IndusInd publishes no rupee value for a Smile, and Smiles can be used only at Jio-bp outlets
- Jio-bp earn capped at 1,200 Smiles a statement cycle, reached at ₹10,000 of spend
- No rewards and no surcharge waiver on fuel at non-Jio-bp stations
- Interest of 3.95% a month (47.4% a year) and a 3.5% forex mark-up
- No lounge access; Priority Pass is not available on this card
Other fuel cards to compare
Each of these is tied to a different oil company, so first filter is simple: which pump do you actually use?
BPCL SBI Card
The BPCL SBI Card charges ₹499 plus taxes a year, reversed once annual spends reach ₹1 lakh since 1 May 2026, earlier it was ₹50,000. At BPCL pumps it earns 13 Reward Points per ₹100, capped at 1,300 points a statement cycle, so it also tops out at ₹10,000 of fuel. Unlike Smiles, SBI Card publishes a value, 4 points to ₹1, so the BPCL rate is worth ₹3.25 per ₹100 (13 ÷ 4). Fuel paid through UPI earn nothing, and its surcharge waiver is capped at ₹100 a cycle.
IndianOil HDFC Bank Credit Card
The IndianOil HDFC Bank card costs ₹500 plus taxes, waived on ₹50,000 of annual spend. It gives 5% back as Fuel Points at IndianOil outlets, capped at 250 points a month for the first 6 months and 150 after that. Redeemed for fuel through XTRAREWARDS, one point is worth ₹0.96, so the long-run cap is about ₹144 a month (150 x ₹0.96), reached at ₹3,000 of fuel (150 is 5% of 3,000). Its surcharge waiver covers ₹400 to ₹5,000 fills, up to ₹250 a cycle.
IDFC FIRST Power+
The IDFC FIRST Power+ suits HPCL users. Its fee is ₹499 plus GST, reversed on ₹1,50,000 of yearly spend, and it earns 30 points per ₹150 at HPCL, a stated 5%, on up to ₹12,000 of fuel a cycle, worth at most ₹600 a month at ₹0.25 a point. Paying through the HP Pay app adds 1.5% in Happy Coins. It has no fuel surcharge waiver, but it carries a 0% forex mark-up and 1 domestic lounge visit a quarter if you spend ₹20,000 a month.
Choosing between them
Pick Jio-bp Mobility+ if you fill at Jio-bp and want no annual fee at all. Pick the BPCL card for BPCL pumps and a published point value, the IndianOil card for light fuel spends at IndianOil, and Power+ for HPCL drivers who also travel abroad.
