IndusInd Bank Pinnacle Credit Card Review: Online Points, No Annual Fee
The IndusInd Bank Pinnacle Credit Card has no annual fee, but its joining fee is ₹15,000 or ₹5,000 plus GST, depending on the fee plan IndusInd offers you at application. Online spends earn 2.5 reward points per ₹100, which is 1.875% back at the ₹0.75 cash-credit value, while shop swipes earn 1 point. It asks for ₹10 lakh a year of income if salaried and ₹12 lakh if self-employed.

Pinnacle in short
Pinnacle is a Mastercard from IndusInd Bank that pay you mostly for shopping online. E-commerce spends earn 2.5 reward points per ₹100, online travel and airline bookings 1.5, and everything you swipe at a shop, or pay by phone order, IVR or standing instruction, earns 1 point per ₹100. Each point is worth ₹0.75 when converted to cash credit, the only value IndusInd publishes for it.
The fee model is the unusual part. You pay once to join and never again, as the MITC lists the annual fee as nil. What that one payment is, however, depends on you. The MITC show two figures for joining, ₹15,000 and ₹5,000, and IndusInd says the actual fee is conveyed at the time of application. Customers of Pinnacle Grande and Pioneer Legacy get it lifetime-free, per a footnote.
What matters most
- The fee plan you are offered. At ₹5,000 the card pays for itself quickly; at ₹15,000 it needs years of steady online spend. Welcome gifts such as Montblanc, Postcard Hotels or Vouchagram vouchers come only with select fee plans, so you should know which plan it is before saying yes.
- Online versus offline. 1.875% back online (2.5 x ₹0.75) against 0.75% at a shop counter (1 x ₹0.75), and nothing on fuel.
- The redemption rules. ₹149 per cash-credit redemption since 1 April 2025, a ceiling of 7,500 points a calendar month and only 50% of your balance at a time.
Status and what changed since 2024
The card is active. Its perks were trimmed step by step. The fuel surcharge waiver was limited on 5 May 2024 to fills of ₹500 to ₹4,000, capped at ₹500 per billing cycle. Monthly cash redemption got its 7,500-point cap on 1 September 2024 and the lounge list changed on 15 November 2024. On 13 March 2025 international lounge access were cut to one Priority Pass visit a quarter and golf to 1 game and 1 lesson a month.
From 1 April 2025 points stopped being given on the fractional part of a spend above each ₹100 multiple, and the ₹149 fee started. Tracking for spend-based domestic lounges began on 1 April 2026, with the rule biting from the July 2026 quarter. On 15 June 2026 came new late-fee slabs and fresh 1% plus GST fees on fuel, transport and currency conversion, plus air accident insurance had already ended on all IndusInd cards from 21 December 2025.
Pinnacle charges, line by line
Joining and annual fee
The joining fee is either ₹15,000 or ₹5,000, plus GST, and the plan is decided when you apply. With 18% GST the bigger plan cost ₹17,700 (₹15,000 plus ₹2,700) and the smaller one ₹5,900 (₹5,000 plus ₹900). The annual fee is nil after that, so there is no renewal to waive and no spend target to hit. Add-on cards are free too.
Because of the gap between the two plans, ask clearly which one applies to you, and what welcome gift it carries, before you finish the application. Paying ₹17,700 for a card you planned to get for ₹5,900 is a costly price for not asking.
Interest and late payment
Pinnacle's interest is 3.83% a month, 46% a year, calculated daily on what you carry. A ₹40,000 balance kept for a month cost roughly ₹1,532 in interest (3.83% of ₹40,000), about two months of points for our typical spender below, who earns ₹762.75 a month (1,017 x ₹0.75). Late fees use the slabs in force from 15 June 2026; for example ₹500 when ₹501 to ₹1,000 is outstanding, ₹900 between ₹10,001 and ₹25,000, and the top fee of ₹1,300 above ₹50,000. IndusInd adds the late fee only after 3 grace days past the due date.
Cash, forex and limits
- Cash advance fee is 2.5% of the amount, minimum ₹300, and interest runs from the day you withdraw until you repay.
- The forex mark-up is 3.5% plus GST, so ₹50,000 spent abroad adds ₹1,750 (3.5% of ₹50,000) before tax. From 15 June 2026, paying in rupees at an overseas location or merchant also attract a 1% plus GST conversion fee.
- Over-limit charge 2.5% of the over-limit amount, minimum ₹500; returned payment ₹250; cash payment at a branch ₹100.
Fees on rent, bills, wallets, education and fuel
Rent paid via third-party merchants pays 1% plus GST on each transaction, and its points are capped at 500 a statement cycle. The other category fees kick in above a cycle total: utilities over ₹25,000, wallet loading over ₹20,000 and third-party education payments over ₹45,000, all at 1% plus GST. Two more joined on 15 June 2026, fuel beyond ₹50,000 and transport other than air (MCCs 4111, 4112, 4784, 4131) beyond ₹40,000 in a cycle.
The fuel surcharge waiver is 1% on fills between ₹500 and ₹4,000, up to ₹500 a billing cycle. To use the whole ₹500 you would need ₹50,000 of qualifying fills (₹500 ÷ 1%), so for most people the cap never matters, the range does. A ₹5,000 fill falls outside it and gets no waiver at all.

Online points are earned only on spends up to your assigned credit limit in a statement cycle. A detail people miss: since 1 April 2025 nothing is given on the fraction above each ₹100. So an online order of ₹1,499 earns on ₹1,400, that is 35 points (14 x 2.5), not the 37 that 14.99 x 2.5 would round to.
Redeeming
Cash credit is the only redemption with a published value, ₹0.75 a point. Each cash redemption carry a ₹149 fee since 1 April 2025, other redemptions ₹100, and the non-cash value is not published. You can cash at most 7,500 points in a calendar month, worth ₹5,625 (7,500 x ₹0.75), and never more than half of your balance at once. The Pinnacle page doesn't say when points expire either.
The half-balance rule decide how you should redeem. Once things settle, about one redemption's worth of points always stays parked in the account, and in the very first redemption you can take only half.
Other benefits
- Golf: 1 complimentary game and 1 complimentary lesson a month, since 13 March 2025.
- BookMyShow: buy one ticket, get one free, up to 3 free tickets a month, each free ticket capped at ₹200, so up to ₹600 of value a month (3 x ₹200).
- Welcome gift from Montblanc, Postcard Hotels or Vouchagram, only on select fee plans. There are no spend milestones.
Light: ₹25,000 a month
| Monthly spend | Working | Points |
|---|---|---|
| ₹12,000 online shopping | 120 x 2.5 | 300 |
| ₹10,000 shop and restaurant swipes | 100 x 1 | 100 |
| ₹3,000 utilities and insurance | 30 x 0.70 | 21 |
| Year | (300 + 100 + 21) x 12 | 5,052 |
| Cash value | 5,052 x ₹0.75 | ₹3,789 |
| Net of one yearly redemption fee | ₹3,789 minus ₹149 | ₹3,640 |
In year one the 50% rule means only 2,526 points (5,052 ÷ 2) can be cashed at first. On the ₹5,900 plan the fee comes back in about 1.6 years (₹5,900 ÷ ₹3,640); on the ₹17,700 plan, nearly 5 years (₹17,700 ÷ ₹3,640 is 4.9). Quarterly spend is ₹75,000 (₹25,000 x 3), half of what domestic lounges need.
Typical: ₹60,000 a month
| Monthly spend | Working | Points |
|---|---|---|
| ₹30,000 online shopping | 300 x 2.5 | 750 |
| ₹5,000 flights and hotels online | 50 x 1.5 | 75 |
| ₹15,000 shop swipes | 150 x 1 | 150 |
| ₹6,000 utilities and insurance | 60 x 0.70 | 42 |
| ₹4,000 fuel | Excluded | 0 |
| Year | (750 + 75 + 150 + 42) x 12 | 12,204 |
| Cash value | 12,204 x ₹0.75 | ₹9,153 |
| Net of four quarterly redemptions | ₹9,153 minus ₹596 (4 x ₹149) | ₹8,557 |
This person spends ₹1,80,000 a quarter (₹60,000 x 3), or ₹1,50,000 (₹50,000 x 3) without fuel and bills, so domestic lounge access is earned either way. The ₹5,900 plan pays back in under a year (₹5,900 ÷ ₹8,557 is 0.69), the ₹17,700 plan in a little over two (₹17,700 ÷ ₹8,557 is 2.07). Fuel fills of ₹4,000 also get ₹40 a month back (1% of ₹4,000) from the surcharge waiver.
Heavy: ₹1,20,000 a month
| Monthly spend | Working | Points |
|---|---|---|
| ₹60,000 online shopping | 600 x 2.5 | 1,500 |
| ₹15,000 flights and hotels online | 150 x 1.5 | 225 |
| ₹30,000 shop swipes | 300 x 1 | 300 |
| ₹10,000 utilities and insurance | 100 x 0.70 | 70 |
| ₹5,000 fuel | Excluded | 0 |
| Year | (1,500 + 225 + 300 + 70) x 12 | 25,140 |
| Cash value | 25,140 x ₹0.75 | ₹18,855 |
| Net of monthly redemptions | ₹18,855 minus ₹1,788 (12 x ₹149) | ₹17,067 |
A year's points here would blow past the 7,500-point monthly cap if left to pile up, so monthly redemption make sense even with the fee. Even the ₹17,700 plan is covered in about a year (₹17,700 ÷ ₹17,067 is 1.04). Just make sure your credit limit is above ₹60,000, or part of the online spend will earn nothing.

Who qualifies for Pinnacle
This is one of few IndusInd cards with its own income rule. The card page asks for income or ITR of ₹10 lakh a year if you are salaried, roughly ₹83,333 a month (₹10,00,000 ÷ 12), and ₹12 lakh a year if self-employed. For age, the card page is silent; the listing page's general criteria say 18 to 70, which we take as the working range.
Documents
- KYC: PAN card, Aadhaar card and a photograph, all mandatory.
- Another address proof such as voter ID, driving licence or passport, if your communication address is not the one on Aadhaar.
- Salaried: bank statements and salary slips of the last 3 months, or the details of another bank's credit card you hold.
- Self-employed: the latest ITR, or another bank's credit card details.
- Every document should be self-attested.
Holding another bank's card is a handy shortcut here, because it can replace the income papers in both the lists.
Applying
You can apply on Indus Easy Credit, where you enter your details, see the card offer with its fee plan, e-sign and finish Video KYC. After approval a virtual card is available at once; the physical card follow in about 5 days. If the offer shows ₹15,000 and you were expecting ₹5,000, stop there and ask the bank.
How the decision is made
The RBI leaves income and age rules to the bank. What it does insist on, through its 2025 card Directions, is an independent check of your credit risk based on your own means and on the limits you already hold elsewhere. You must get a one-page Key Fact Statement with the application, and a rejection have to come with specific reasons in writing. Meeting ₹10 lakh does not mean approval, IndusInd alone decides.

Who should take Pinnacle, and who shouldn't
The right person for this card earns well, buys a lot online and would rather pay once than every year. If that's you and the offer shows ₹5,000, the maths is friendly: our typical ₹60,000-a-month spender clears ₹8,557 a year net of fees, so the ₹5,900 is back inside a year. Add a monthly round of golf or two free movie tickets and the card start to look generous.
The person who should skip it shops mostly at stores, fills up a lot of fuel, or travels abroad often. Offline spends return just 0.75%, fuel earns nothing, and a 3.5% forex mark-up makes it a poor travel card. If the offer you get is ₹15,000, a light spender would need nearly 5 years to break even, which honestly is too long time for a card whose benefits keep being trimmed.
The trade-offs
Its strength are a single upfront fee and a clear cash value for points. Its weaknesses sit in the fine print: ₹149 on every cash redemption, the 50% balance rule, the 7,500-point monthly ceiling, no published expiry and no value for non-cash options. Lounge access is now thin, 1 domestic visit a quarter after ₹1,50,000 of spend and 1 international visit a quarter.
And the trend. Golf, lounges, fuel and redemption have all been cut since 2024, so judge the card on what it gives today, not on old reviews.
Pros
- No annual fee, ever; you pay only the joining fee of your plan
- 2.5 points per ₹100 online, worth 1.875% at the ₹0.75 cash-credit value
- A published cash-credit value of ₹0.75 a point, so the return is easy to work out
- 1 golf game and 1 lesson a month, and up to 3 free BookMyShow tickets a month
- Free add-on cards and 1 Priority Pass visit outside India each quarter
Cons
- Joining fee is ₹15,000 or ₹5,000 plus GST depending on the plan offered
- ₹149 fee per cash redemption, a 7,500-point monthly cap and only 50% of the balance at a time
- Domestic lounge visit needs ₹1,50,000 of spend in the previous quarter
- Only 1 point per ₹100 at shops and none on fuel
- 3.5% forex mark-up and interest of 3.83% a month (46% a year)
Pinnacle against three rewards cards
We have picked one sibling and two rival that also reward everyday and online spending.
IndusInd Bank Legend
The IndusInd Legend follows the same pay-once model with a ₹5,000 joining fee and no annual fee. It earns 1 point per ₹100 on weekdays and 2 on weekends, worth ₹0.50 each as cash credit or ₹0.75 on non-cash redemptions, and its points stay live as long as the card does. Lounge access ended on 7 March 2025, but its forex mark-up is 1.8%, lower than Pinnacle's 3.5%, and it uses IndusInd's general ₹20,000-a-month income rule.
HDFC Bank Regalia Gold
The HDFC Regalia Gold charges ₹2,500 plus taxes every year, waived once you spend ₹4 lakh in the anniversary year. It earns 5 points per ₹200, with 5X at Myntra, Nykaa, Reliance Digital and Marks and Spencer, capped at 5,000 points a month across those brands. Values is ranging from ₹0.65 on HDFC's Gold catalogue to just ₹0.15 as cashback. It gives 3 domestic lounge visits a quarter after ₹60,000 of spend in the previous quarter, 6 Priority Pass visits a year, and a 2% forex mark-up, but wants ₹1.5 lakh a month of income from salaried applicants.
Axis Bank Select
The Axis Bank Select costs ₹3,000 a year, waived on ₹8 lakh. It earns 10 EDGE points per ₹200 and double on retail shopping up to ₹20,000 a month, and Axis values its welcome points at ₹0.20 each, which makes the base 1% and the shopping rate 2%. You get 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter after ₹50,000 of spend in 3 months and Priority Pass with 6 international visits a year. Its forex mark-up is 3.5% and its income bar is ₹6 lakh a year.
Which way to go
Pinnacle wins for heavy online shoppers on the ₹5,000 plan who want no renewal. Legend suits weekend spenders who never want points to expire, Regalia Gold suits high earners who also travel and want the lower forex rate, and Select suits someone with ₹6 lakh of income who wants lounges and shopping points together.
Our IndusInd Bank credit cards page lists the full range, IndusInd customer care has the helpline, and the best reward points cards and credit cards hub help with a shortlist.

BankCreds does not sell cards or take applications. Fees and rewards change; the bank's own terms on the day you apply are what count, and approval is the bank's decision.
