Flipkart SBI Card: which Flipkart card this is
Two issuers sell a Flipkart credit card, and they are not same product. This review cover the Flipkart SBI Card from SBI Cards and Payment Services; Axis Bank's Flipkart card is compared in the Similar cards tab. SBI Card lists it as active, on Visa or Mastercard, with online applications open.
It is a pure cashback card: 7.5% on Myntra, 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip, 4% at Netmeds, PVR, Uber and Zomato, and 1% on most other spends with no limit. Cashback lands in the card account by itself, with nothing to redeem.
Three things that decide its value
- A ₹4,000 quarterly limit. Each accelerated row in SBI Card's terms carry a ₹4,000 limit per calendar quarter, and the terms never say if it is shared or per category.
- A high reversal bar. The ₹500 renewal fee goes only after ₹3,50,000 of spends in the previous year.
- Nothing for travel. No lounge visits are listed, and foreign spends cost 3.5% extra.
What changed recently
The card page still advertise "12% off on Cleartrip", but that launch offer (7% instant discount plus 5% cashback on flights) was valid only till 30 June 2026, so we use the 5% in the terms booklet. SBI Card-wide fees also moved: 1% on wallet loads above ₹1,000 and on education via third-party apps from 1 November 2025, new late fee slabs from 1 May 2026, and 1% on big transport and fuel spends from 1 December 2026.
Flipkart SBI Card fees and charges
The joining fee and the renewal fee from year two are ₹500 each, plus GST. At 18% that adds ₹90 (₹500 times 18%), so the real yearly cost come to ₹590. First-year-free cards issued during select offer periods skips the joining fee. Add-on cards carry no fee.
Will you reach the ₹3.5 lakh reversal?
The renewal fee is reversed when the last card year's spends reach ₹3,50,000, about ₹29,167 a month (₹3,50,000 divided by 12). At ₹15,000 a month you reach ₹1,80,000 (₹15,000 times 12), roughly half way, so for most users the ₹590 is simply the price of keeping the card.
Interest, late fees and cash
Carried balances cost 3.75% a month, which is 45% a year, and purchases get 20 to 50 days interest-free only if you cleared the previous statement completely. The late fee is nil when ₹100 or less is due and climb in slabs to ₹1,300 once dues pass ₹50,000, and a missed minimum two cycles in a row adds ₹100 every cycle. ATM cash costs 2.5%, minimum ₹500, with interest from day one.
Fees on special categories
- Rent: ₹199 plus taxes per payment, and no cashback on it.
- Wallet loads above ₹1,000: 1% per load from 1 November 2025, the same date a 1% fee started on school or college fees paid via third-party apps (direct payment stays free).
- Utilities: 1% of the total once a cycle's utility payments goes above ₹50,000, a rule running since 1 December 2024.
- From 1 December 2026: 1% on each transport transaction above ₹30,000, and on total fuel spends above ₹50,000 in a cycle.
- Forex: 3.5%, charged too on rupee transactions of ₹1,000 or more at foreign locations or overseas-registered merchants.
The fuel surcharge waiver is 1% on fills of ₹500 to ₹4,000, up to ₹400 a statement cycle, though fuel never earn any cashback.

Cashback rates, the ₹4,000 limit and three spenders
Myntra pays 7.5%, Flipkart and Cleartrip pays 5%, the four partners 4% and other eligible spends 1% with no limit. SBI Card's partner list say the names can change from time to time.
The terms booklet put "Quarterly Cashback Limit of 4,000" against all four accelerated rows, counted by calendar quarter. Read as one shared limit, it is about ₹1,333 a month (₹4,000 divided by 3), and Flipkart alone fills it at ₹80,000 a quarter (₹4,000 divided by 5%). Read as separate limits, Myntra fills its own at ₹53,333 (₹4,000 divided by 7.5%). The terms don't say if spends over the limit drop to 1%, so we count them as nothing.
No cashback on fuel, wallet and gift card loads, vouchers, rent, government, education, jewellery, insurance, gaming, EMI spends, Standing Instructions or Fetch and Pay on SBI Card platforms, or cash. Utility bills are not on that list, so paid the normal way they earns 1%. The booklet gives two credit timings, within two working days of the statement and within 15 days after the cycle, and no expiry.
Welcome gift is a ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher within 60 days of fee payment, valid 1 year. The page also mention a ₹1,000 benefit on the first Flipkart transaction under separate terms, which we haven't counted.
Light spender: ₹10,000 a month
₹3,000 on Flipkart gives ₹150, ₹1,000 on Myntra ₹75, ₹1,500 on Zomato and Uber ₹60, ₹3,500 of groceries and bills ₹35, and ₹1,000 of fuel nothing: ₹320 a month, ₹3,840 a year. Accelerated cashback is ₹285 a month (₹150 plus ₹75 plus ₹60), only ₹855 a quarter, so even a shared limit never bite. ₹1,20,000 a year (₹10,000 times 12) misses the reversal, leaving ₹3,250 after the ₹590 fee.
Typical spender: ₹25,000 a month
₹7,000 on Flipkart (₹350), ₹2,000 on Myntra (₹150), ₹1,500 on Cleartrip (₹75), ₹3,000 at Zomato, Uber and PVR (₹120), ₹4,000 of bills (₹40), ₹5,500 elsewhere (₹55) and ₹2,000 of fuel (nil) make ₹790 a month, ₹9,480 a year. The first four items give ₹695 a month, ₹2,085 a quarter (₹695 times 3), under ₹4,000 either way. ₹3,00,000 a year (₹25,000 times 12) is short of ₹3,50,000, so the fee stay: net ₹8,890 (₹9,480 minus ₹590).
Heavy spender: ₹60,000 a month
₹25,000 on Flipkart, ₹8,000 on Myntra, ₹5,000 on Cleartrip, ₹6,000 at partners, ₹14,000 on bills and other spends, and ₹2,000 on fuel. A quarter brings ₹3,750 from Flipkart (₹1,250 times 3), ₹1,800 from Myntra, ₹750 from Cleartrip and ₹720 from partners, ₹7,020 in all, plus ₹420 at 1% (₹140 times 3). With separate limits nothing crosses ₹4,000, so the year pays ₹29,760 (₹7,440 times 4). With one shared limit the quarter stop at ₹4,420 and the year at ₹17,680, which is ₹12,080 less. ₹7,20,000 a year (₹60,000 times 12) clears the reversal, so from year two the card is free of fee.
| Spender | Monthly spend | Cashback a year | Fee that year | Net value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light | ₹10,000 | ₹3,840 | ₹590 | ₹3,250 |
| Typical | ₹25,000 | ₹9,480 | ₹590 | ₹8,890 |
| Heavy, separate limits | ₹60,000 | ₹29,760 | Reversed from year two | ₹29,760 |
| Heavy, one shared limit | ₹60,000 | ₹17,680 | Reversed from year two | ₹17,680 |

Who can get the Flipkart SBI Card and how to apply
SBI Card applies one set of age rule to nearly all its cards: 21 or older if salaried, above 25 if self-employed and applying online, and above 40 for retired pensioners applying online. The upper limit is 60 years in the "Get ready to apply" checklist and 70 years in the FAQ on the same page, so check with SBI Card if you are close to either.
No minimum income are published for any SBI card; the bank only asks for a stable income. Its card finder files this card under "Less than 50K" monthly income, a browsing filter and not a eligibility rule.
- PAN card, for digital KYC.
- Aadhaar copy with the first 8 digits masked, or another government address proof.
- Salary slip or income tax return, if SBI Card asks.
Apply on SBI Card's website, through the ILA chatbot, by calling 39 02 02 02 after your local STD code, or at an SBI branch; an SBI bank account is not needed. SBI Card prefers a score of 750 to 900 and an address in a area it services. Under the RBI's 2025 Directions for NBFC card issuers it must assess your own repayment means, hand you a Key Fact Statement and give written reasons if it says no. Service numbers are on our SBI customer care page.

Who the Flipkart SBI Card suits, and who should skip it
This card make most sense for someone whose online life runs through the Flipkart group: Myntra clothes, Flipkart gadgets and groceries, the odd Cleartrip flight, Uber to office and Zomato at weekends. Nearly every rupee of that earns 4% to 7.5%, and the rest gets 1% with no ceiling, utility bills included, which suit people who never get round to redeeming points.
The weak point is the open ₹4,000 question, worth ₹12,080 a year to our heavy spender. The other drawbacks is plainer: a ₹3,50,000 reversal bar for a ₹500 card, no lounges, 3.5% forex and no RuPay variant for UPI.
- Gains most: regular Myntra buyers, Flipkart shoppers whose quarterly cashback stays near ₹4,000 or below, and weekly Zomato or Uber users.
- Should skip: frequent flyers, people paying rent, fuel or insurance by card, and anyone wanting UPI on credit.
- Be careful if you revolve the bill, at 45% a year the interest wipe out a month's cashback very fast.
Pair it with a second card for travel or bills; if both are from SBI Card, they may share one credit limit at customer level.
Pros
- 7.5% cashback on Myntra and 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip
- 4% cashback at Netmeds, PVR, Uber and Zomato
- 1% on other eligible spends with no cap, utility bills included
- Cashback is credited to the card account automatically
- Low fee of ₹500 plus GST, and add-on cards are free
Cons
- SBI Card does not say whether the ₹4,000 quarterly limit is shared or per category
- The fee is reversed only on ₹3,50,000 of spends a year
- No lounge access and a 3.5% forex markup
- No cashback on fuel, rent, insurance, wallet loads or EMI spends
- No RuPay variant, so it cannot be used for UPI payments
Flipkart SBI Card against Flipkart Axis and two other shopping cards
The Flipkart Axis Bank card look almost same on paper: ₹500 plus GST, reversed at ₹3,50,000, 7.5% on Myntra, 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip, 1% elsewhere and no lounges. But Axis gives Myntra, Flipkart and Cleartrip a separate ₹4,000 cap each per statement quarter, pays an uncapped 4% at Swiggy food delivery, Uber, PVR and Fitpass, and excludes utility and telecom bills, which SBI Card doesn't. Axis interest is 55.55% a year against SBI Card's 45%.
The Amazon Pay ICICI card has no joining or annual fee and pays 5% on Amazon for Prime members, 3% for others, 2% at Amazon Pay partners and 1% elsewhere with no cap stated, plus 1.99% forex. It is a invite-only card that asks for ₹30,000 of monthly income.
SBI Card's own CASHBACK SBI Card costs ₹999 plus GST, reversed at ₹2,00,000, and pays 5% online at any merchant up to ₹2,000 a statement cycle plus 1% offline up to another ₹2,000, so ₹4,000 a cycle against this card's ₹4,000 a quarter.
Which one to pick
- Flipkart SBI: Myntra and Flipkart are your main shops, plus Zomato or Netmeds.
- Flipkart Axis: the same shops, but you want clearly separate caps and uncapped 4% at Swiggy.
- Amazon Pay ICICI: an Amazon household that has the invite.
- CASHBACK SBI: you shop across many sites.
