Flipkart SBI Card vs Flipkart Axis Bank Card: Whose Caps Pay More?
The Flipkart SBI Card and the Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card share a ₹500 fee, a ₹3.5 lakh waiver and the same 7.5% on Myntra, 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip and 1% elsewhere, so the issuer's small print decides. Axis gives each of the three stores its own ₹4,000 cap per statement quarter and pays an uncapped 4% on Swiggy food orders, while SBI Card does not say whether its ₹4,000 quarterly limit is shared, pays 4% at Zomato instead and still pays 1% on utility bills.
In short
Flipkart Axis Bank is the safer pick for heavy Flipkart and Myntra shoppers because its caps are clearly separate, while Flipkart SBI Card suits lighter shoppers who order on Zomato and pay utility bills on the card.
Best for
- Flipkart Axis Bank: shoppers whose Flipkart, Myntra and Cleartrip cashback can pass ₹4,000 a quarter
- Flipkart Axis Bank: Swiggy food delivery users, at 4% with no cap
- Flipkart SBI Card: Zomato and Netmeds users, and people who put electricity and phone bills on the card
Skip it if
- You want lounge access, which neither card offers now
- You spend abroad, since both charge a 3.5% forex markup
- Your yearly spend is well under ₹3.5 lakh, so the fee is never waived
Highlights
- Same fee: ₹500 plus GST on both, waived at ₹3.5 lakh of yearly spends
- Same rates: 7.5% Myntra, 5% Flipkart and Cleartrip, 4% partners, 1% elsewhere
- Axis: a separate ₹4,000 cap per statement quarter for each of Myntra, Flipkart and Cleartrip
- SBI Card: ₹4,000 quarterly limit, not stated whether shared or per category
- Partners: Axis has Swiggy, Fitpass and PVR; SBI Card has Zomato, Netmeds and PVR; both have Uber

Two Flipkart cards from two different banks
Flipkart lends its name to two credit cards. Axis Bank issues one and SBI Card issues the other, and the headline offer on both are almost word for word the same: 7.5% back on Myntra, 5% on Flipkart and Cleartrip, 4% at a few partners, 1% on the rest, for ₹500 plus GST a year. Read the terms of each bank, though, and the two cards behave quite different.
Under RBI's co-brand rules the bank, not Flipkart, issues the card, decides on your application, sets the charges and has to pay the advertised cashback on time. So the questions worth asking is about the bank's terms: how the caps work, which partners count, what's excluded and what the bank charges when things go wrong.
Who each card is for
- Flipkart Axis Bank: heavy Flipkart and Myntra shoppers who might cross ₹4,000 of cashback in a quarter, and Swiggy users, since Swiggy food delivery earn 4% with no cap. Axis's published age range, 18 to 70, is also the wider one.
- Flipkart SBI Card: lighter shoppers who order on Zomato, buy medicines on Netmeds and want utility bills to earn 1%. SBI's card runs on Visa or Mastercard, which Axis's page doesn't state for its own card.
The verdict in two sentences
For anyone whose cashback on the three stores can pass ₹4,000 a quarter, which takes about ₹26,667 a month of Flipkart orders at 5% (₹4,000 divided by 3, then by 5%), the Axis card is the safer choice, because its caps are written as separate for Myntra, Flipkart and Cleartrip. For a lighter shopper the two return nearly the same, and the SBI card can edge ahead on Zomato orders and bills.
Both are active. Axis reshaped its card on 20 June 2025 and again on 28 August 2026, and SBI's 12% Cleartrip launch offer ended on 30 June 2026. Our separate reviews of the Flipkart SBI Card and the Flipkart Axis Bank card go deeper on each.
Same fee, different charges around it
| Charge | Flipkart SBI Card | Flipkart Axis Bank |
|---|---|---|
| Joining and annual fee | ₹500 plus GST | ₹500 plus GST |
| Waiver | Renewal reversed if last year's spends reach ₹3,50,000 | Year-two fee onwards waived on ₹3,50,000; rent, wallet loads and gift cards not counted |
| Add-on cards | Nil | Free |
| Interest | 3.75% a month (shown as 45% a year) | 3.75% a month (shown as 55.55% a year) |
| Late fee on ₹3,000 due | ₹750 | ₹500 |
| Late fee on ₹20,000 due | ₹950 | ₹1,200 |
| Rent | ₹199 plus taxes a payment | 1% of each payment |
| Utilities | 1% above ₹50,000 a billing cycle | 1% from ₹25,000 a statement cycle |
| Wallet loads | 1% on any load above ₹1,000 | 1% from ₹10,000 a statement cycle |
| Cash payment at a branch | ₹250 | ₹175 |
| Forex markup | 3.5% | 3.5% |
The fee and the waiver
Both cost ₹590 a year with 18% GST (₹500 plus ₹90), and both drop the renewal at ₹3.5 lakh of yearly spends, about ₹29,167 a month (₹3.5 lakh divided by 12). That's a high bar for a ₹500 card. Axis spells out that rent, wallet loads and gift cards don't count toward it and that spends are counted by posting date. SBI's terms just say annual spends. Both banks sometime run first-year-free offers, and on Axis such cards miss the ₹250 welcome voucher.
Interest and late fees
The monthly interest is the same 3.75%. Axis quote it as 55.55% a year and SBI Card as 45%, but what you pay each month is identical. Late fees differ by bill size. Axis charges nothing on dues up to ₹500 and ₹500 on dues up to ₹5,000, so it's gentler on small bills: ₹500 against SBI's ₹750 on a ₹3,000 outstanding. On bigger dues it turn harsher, ₹1,200 against ₹950 on ₹20,000. Both add ₹100 a cycle once the minimum is missed twice in a row.
The newer fees
Rent comes out level at ₹20,000 (₹199 against ₹200) and favours SBI above that: ₹40,000 of rent costs ₹199 plus taxes on SBI's card and ₹400 on Axis's. Axis charges 1% on utility bills from ₹25,000 a cycle and on wallet loads from ₹10,000, and SBI Card from ₹50,000 and above ₹1,000 respectively. Fuel above ₹50,000 a cycle attracts 1% on Axis already and on SBI from 1 December 2026.
Same rates, different caps and partners
| Where you spend | Flipkart SBI Card | Flipkart Axis Bank |
|---|---|---|
| Myntra | 7.5% | 7.5%, own ₹4,000 cap a statement quarter |
| Flipkart | 5% | 5%, own ₹4,000 cap a statement quarter (not Flipkart Health) |
| Cleartrip | 5% | 5%, own ₹4,000 cap a statement quarter |
| 4% partners | Netmeds, PVR, Uber, Zomato | Swiggy food delivery, Uber, PVR, Fitpass, Stoga by Fitpass, no cap |
| Quarterly limit on the above | ₹4,000 a calendar quarter, shared or per category not stated | Per merchant, as shown |
| Everything else eligible | 1%, no cap | 1%, no cap |
| Utility and telecom bills | Not on the exclusion list | Excluded |
The cap question
This is the difference which matter most between the two. Axis writes that Myntra, Flipkart and Cleartrip each have a ₹4,000 cap per statement quarter, so up to ₹12,000 of cashback a quarter is possible on the three, and its 4% partners are unlimited. SBI's terms repeat "Quarterly Cashback Limit of 4,000" on every accelerated row, Flipkart, Myntra, Cleartrip and the 4% partners, without saying whether that's one limit for all of them or one each. If it is shared, a heavy shopper will be losing a lot of money from it. Until SBI Card clarify it, plan for the worse case.
Exclusions and timing
Both pay nothing on fuel, rent, wallet loads, gift cards, government, education, jewellery, insurance and EMI purchases. Axis also excludes utility bills, telecom and gold, and since 28 August 2026 tolls. SBI's exclusion list doesn't name utilities, so bills paid on the card elsewhere looks to earn the 1% base, though bills paid by standing instruction or Fetch and Pay on SBI Card's own platforms earn nothing. Axis pays no cashback under ₹100 a transaction.
Cashback lands as statement credit on both. Axis credits it 3 days before your next statement, SBI Card within 15 days after the statement cycle, though one line in its terms says two working days.
Three budgets on both cards
| Budget and card | Cashback a quarter | Cashback a year | Renewal fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹15,000 a month, Flipkart SBI | ₹1,500 | ₹6,000 | ₹590 paid |
| ₹15,000 a month, Flipkart Axis | ₹1,440 | ₹5,760 | ₹590 paid |
| ₹40,000 a month, Flipkart SBI | ₹5,430 (₹4,270 if shared) | ₹21,720 (₹17,080 if shared) | Reversed |
| ₹40,000 a month, Flipkart Axis | ₹5,520 | ₹22,080 | Waived |
| ₹70,000 a month, Flipkart SBI | ₹9,535 (₹4,360 if shared) | ₹38,140 (₹17,440 if shared) | Reversed |
| ₹70,000 a month, Flipkart Axis | ₹9,595 | ₹38,380 | Waived |
₹15,000 a month: Flipkart ₹4,000, Myntra ₹2,000, Zomato ₹1,000, Swiggy ₹1,000, Uber ₹1,000, electricity and mobile ₹2,000, other ₹4,000. Both earn ₹200 on Flipkart, ₹150 on Myntra, ₹40 on Uber and ₹40 on other spends. SBI adds ₹40 on Zomato at 4%, ₹10 on Swiggy and ₹20 on bills, so ₹500 a month. Axis adds ₹40 on Swiggy at 4% and ₹10 on Zomato and nothing on bills, so ₹480. A ₹1.8 lakh year misses the ₹3.5 lakh waiver on both.
₹40,000 a month: Flipkart ₹15,000, Myntra ₹8,000, Cleartrip ₹5,000, Swiggy ₹3,000, Zomato ₹1,000, Uber ₹2,000, bills ₹3,000, other ₹3,000. On SBI, the capped rows give ₹750, ₹600, ₹250, ₹40 and ₹80, which is ₹1,720 a month or ₹5,160 a quarter, and the 1% spends add ₹90 a month, ₹270 a quarter. Read per category, nothing hits ₹4,000, so ₹5,430 a quarter. Read as shared, the ₹5,160 stop at ₹4,000, giving ₹4,270. Axis gives ₹750, ₹600 and ₹250 on the three stores, ₹120 on Swiggy, ₹80 on Uber, ₹10 on Zomato and ₹30 on other spends, ₹1,840 a month, ₹5,520 a quarter.
₹70,000 a month: Flipkart ₹30,000, Myntra ₹15,000, Cleartrip ₹8,000, Swiggy ₹4,000, Zomato ₹2,000, Uber ₹3,000, bills ₹4,000, other ₹4,000. Flipkart's 5% is ₹4,500 a quarter, so it hit the ₹4,000 cap on both cards. Axis then adds ₹3,375 on Myntra, ₹1,200 on Cleartrip and ₹1,020 from Swiggy, Uber, Zomato and other spends: ₹9,595. SBI read per category adds ₹3,375, ₹1,200, ₹600 at 4% and ₹360 at 1%: ₹9,535. Read as shared, SBI stops at ₹4,000 plus ₹360, less than half.
Lounges, forex, fuel and welcome gifts
Lounges and insurance
Neither card has airport lounge access now. Axis used to give 4 domestic visits a year and stopped on 20 June 2025, and SBI's card lists none. Neither bank lists an insurance cover for its Flipkart card. These are shopping cards, plain and simple, and should be judged on cashback alone.
Forex
Both charge 3.5% on foreign currency spends, ₹1,750 on ₹50,000 before GST. Both also charge 3.5% when you pay in rupees at a merchant registered abroad: Axis since 28 August 2026, when it raised the rate from 1.5%, and SBI Card on such payments of ₹1,000 or more, at the card's own forex rate. For travel abroad, carry some other card.
Fuel
Both waive the 1% fuel surcharge up to ₹400 a statement cycle. SBI's waiver works on bills from ₹500 to ₹4,000 and Axis's from ₹400 to ₹4,000, so a ₹450 top-up get the waiver only on Axis. One caution: Axis's card page offers the waiver but its MITC and fact sheet doesn't name this card in their fuel lists, so check your first fuel statement. Fuel earns no cashback on either card.
Welcome benefits
Axis gives a ₹250 Flipkart voucher when you make a first transaction within 30 days of getting the card, but only on cards where the joining fee was paid, plus 50% off up to ₹100 on a first Swiggy food order for new Swiggy users. SBI Card gives a ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher within 60 days of your fee being realised, valid for a year, and its page mentions a further ₹1,000 benefit on your first Flipkart transaction, whose terms we hasn't been able to read. Axis cut its own voucher from ₹500 to ₹250 for cards issued after 20 June 2025.
Neither card has spend milestones beyond the fee waiver. The partner lists are also marked by both banks as subject to change, so the Zomato and Swiggy difference may not last forever, keep an eye on the bank's notices.
Published rules side by side

| Income | Not published | Not stated for this card; Axis's general criteria say ₹15,000 a month |

| Documents | PAN, masked Aadhaar or other address proof, income papers if asked | PAN or Form 60, payslip, Form 16 or ITR, and residence proof |
| Network | Visa or Mastercard | Not stated |
How the two banks differ
Axis is more open on the age. Its card page takes primary cardholders from 18 to 70, so someone of 18 to 20 with an income can apply, which SBI Card's rules don't allow. SBI Card starts at 21, gives its maximum as 60 in one place and 70 in another on the same page, and wants self-employed online applicants to be above 25.
On income, neither bank publish a figure for its Flipkart card. Axis's general criteria mention ₹15,000 a month. SBI Card says income must be stable and the minimum varies by card, and its card finder files this one under less than ₹50,000 a month, which is a browsing filter only. Axis lists the papers more exact: PAN or Form 60, a payslip, Form 16 or ITR, and a driving licence, electricity bill or landline bill for address.
Applying
Axis's online form asks for your mobile number and PAN or date of birth, checks eligibility and verifies by OTP; you can also apply in the Axis Mobile app or a branch. SBI Card takes applications on its website, through its ILA chatbot, by phone or at an SBI branch. Either bank must assess your own income and existing limits, as RBI rules require, and tell you in writing why if it rejects you. For help mid-application, call Axis Bank customer care or SBI Card customer care.
Which Flipkart card to take
Take Flipkart Axis Bank if
- Your cashback on Flipkart, Myntra and Cleartrip can pass ₹4,000 a quarter, so the separate caps really matters.
- You order food on Swiggy, at 4% with no cap.
- You're 18 to 20, or between 60 and 70, where SBI Card's own page gives two different age limits.
- Your dues are usually small when you slip, as Axis charges nothing on dues up to ₹500.
Take Flipkart SBI Card if
- You shop lightly, well under ₹4,000 of cashback a quarter, where the cap question never comes up.
- You order on Zomato or buying medicines on Netmeds, both at 4%.
- You want electricity and phone bills to earn 1%, which Axis excludes.
- You'd like a card on Visa or Mastercard, which SBI Card states.
