What BOBCARD PREMIER is
PREMIER is a mid-tier rewards card from BOBCARD Limited, Bank of Baroda's card subsidiary, and it is open for applications. BOBCARD doesn't name its network on the card page. The card is aim at people who eat out and travel: travel (MCC 4722), international and dining (MCC 5812) spends earn 10 reward points per ₹100, five times the normal 2 points.
BOBCARD values a point at ₹0.25 as statement cashback, so 5X is ₹2.50 per ₹100, or 2.5%, and the base rate is 0.5%. The 5X earn is capped at 2,000 points per statement cycle, which you reach at ₹20,000 of those spends (2,000 divided by 10, times ₹100), worth 2,000 times ₹0.25, or ₹500.
Points that decide the deal
- The fee mostly goes away. ₹10,000 of spends in the first 60 days waives the first-year fee, and ₹1,20,000 in an anniversary year waives the next, which is ₹1,20,000 divided by 12, or ₹10,000 a month.
- SmartDeal bonuses. Flights booked on BOBCARD's SmartDeal portal or app earn 8 extra points per ₹100 and hotels 20 extra, which BOBCARD is calling "Extra 4X" and "Extra 10X".
- One lounge a quarter. A domestic visit each calendar quarter after ₹20,000 of spends in the quarter before, waived in the quarter a new card is issued.
Changes in 2026
April 2026 brought two things: telecom bills (MCC 4814) began earning core points, and three new 1% charges appeared, on school or college fees paid via third-party apps, on toll and bus payments from ₹5,000, and on train tickets of ₹30,000 or more at a time. Accidental death cover is not given on cards issued after 15 July 2026 and has ended on 25 August 2026 for older cards. From 1 September 2026 the card page shows a ₹0 joining and first-year fee, as a limited-period offer.
PREMIER fees and charges
Both the MITC and the Key Fact Statement set the joining fee at ₹1,000 and the annual fee at ₹1,000, and 18% GST is added to all fees, so ₹1,180 each. Up to 3 add-on cards costs nothing. The first-year fee is waived if you spends ₹10,000 in the first 60 days; otherwise it is charged in the third statement.
The card page's ₹0 joining and first-year fee from 1 September 2026 is a limited-period offer. The MITC still lists ₹1,000, so plan for that and treat the offer as bonus if it is there when you apply.
The ₹1,20,000 waiver
From the second year, ₹1,20,000 of spends in the anniversary year waives the ₹1,000 annual fee. At ₹10,000 a month it is a level many cardholders reach without even trying for it. Someone putting only ₹10,000 a month of dining and shopping on it keeps the card for free of cost.
Interest and other charges
Interest is 3.75% a month, 45% a year, on balances you carry. Late fees rise with the statement balance, from ₹100 when ₹100 to ₹500 is owed, through ₹750 for ₹1,001 to ₹10,000 and ₹1,100 for up to ₹50,000, to ₹1,300 above that. Cash advances cost 2.5% or ₹500, whichever is more, and going over the limit 2.5% or ₹600.
- Forex: 3.5%, so international spends earning 2.5% still leave you about 1% behind (3.5% minus 2.5%), plus GST on the markup.
- 1% charges apply to rent and wallet top-ups, to any single utility bill from ₹50,000 (capped at ₹3,000), to a fuel fill of ₹10,000 or more, to app-routed education fees (capped at ₹5,000), to toll or bus payments from ₹5,000, and to rail tickets from ₹30,000 (capped at ₹5,000).
- Fuel surcharge: 1% waived on fills of ₹400 to ₹5,000, up to ₹250 a statement, and fuel earns no points.
- ₹250 per cash payment of the bill, ₹100 per cheque payment and 2% (minimum ₹500) on a bounce. Redemption is free.

How PREMIER points work
Every ₹100 at travel agencies (MCC 4722), restaurants (MCC 5812) and on international spends earns 10 points, up to 2,000 points a statement, and other eligible spends earn 2 points per ₹100. Transactions below ₹100 earn nothing, and UPI spends get core points only. Flights on SmartDeal add 8 points per ₹100, worth ₹2 (8 times ₹0.25), and hotels 20 points, worth ₹5; BOBCARD's terms don't say how these extras sit with the 5X rate or its cap, so the examples leave them out.
The exclusion list is a long one, very long. Fuel, agriculture, contractors, passenger transport, railways, bus and tolls, rent, cleaning and laundry, government, education, hospitals, wallets, supermarkets and convenience stores (MCC 5261, 5331, 5411, 5499), insurance, charity and fast food (MCC 5814) earn no points. So a fast-food outlet coded 5814 earns zero while a restaurant coded 5812 gets 5X.
Redemption is cashback against the statement at ₹0.25 a point, with a minimum of 1,000 points, or TWID Pay with Rewards at ₹0.15; cashback is the more better choice. Points last 2 years from the date earned and lapse if the card is unused for 365 days. New cardholders who spend ₹5,000 in the first 60 days get 500 bonus points, which at ₹0.25 each is ₹125.
Light: ₹15,000 a month
₹3,000 at restaurants, ₹9,000 on clothes, pharmacy and online orders, and ₹3,000 of supermarket groceries. Dining gives 30 times 10, so 300 points; shopping 90 times 2, so 180; the supermarket nothing. That is 480 points a month, 5,760 a year, worth ₹1,440. ₹15,000 a month is ₹30,000 in the first 60 days, well over ₹10,000, and even the ₹12,000 that earn points, times 12, is ₹1,44,000, over ₹1,20,000, so no fee is paid. Year one adds ₹125 of welcome points, so ₹1,565.
Typical: ₹35,000 a month
₹6,000 at restaurants, ₹8,000 of trips through a travel agency, ₹4,000 spent abroad online, ₹12,000 of other spends and ₹5,000 of fuel. The 5X spends total ₹18,000 and give 1,800 points, under the 2,000 cap; other spends give 240. That is 2,040 points a month, 24,480 a year, ₹6,120, with no fee. But the ₹4,000 abroad costs 3.5%, ₹140, plus ₹25.20 GST, against ₹100 of points on it, so the international part loses money. Fuel earns nothing, though its ₹50 surcharge (1% of ₹5,000) is refunded.
Heavy: ₹70,000 a month
₹20,000 on dining and travel, ₹40,000 of other spends and ₹10,000 of rent. Dining and travel give 200 times 10, so 2,000 points, exactly the cap; other spends give 400 times 2, so 800. That is 2,800 points a month, 33,600 a year, ₹8,400. Rent gets no points and attracts the 1% fee, ₹100, plus ₹18 GST, which over 12 months is ₹1,416, leaving ₹6,984. Dining or travel above ₹20,000 gets no more 5X, so a big spender here is losing value.
| Spender | Points a year | Value at ₹0.25 | Fee paid | Net |

Eligibility and how to apply
PREMIER asks for net annual income above ₹7.2 lakh, for salaried and self-employed alike, which is ₹60,000 a month, and an age of 21 to 60. You must be resident in India. BOBCARD's Key Fact Statement also lists an FD-backed PREMIER with nil fees; its FD rules, like the minimum deposit or the limit as a share of the FD, is not in the terms we have, so ask BOBCARD before choosing it.
Keep ready a recent passport-size photo and PAN and, for address, any one of Aadhaar with both sides, a passport, voter ID, driving licence, an NREGA job card or an NPR letter. Salaried people show 2 months of bank statements with salary credits, salary slips being accepted only along with those. Business owners upload the last 3 months of business account statements in PDF form.
Applying and approval
You apply online, e-sign with Aadhaar and finish a Video KYC call. BOBCARD then decides. Being an NBFC, it works under the RBI's NBFC card Directions of 2025, which parallel the bank Directions; these require an independent look at your own financial means and written reasons for any rejection. On CRIF's 300 to 900 range, above 700 is generally good. Income above ₹7.2 lakh is the entry ticket, not a approval. Our Bank of Baroda customer care page has the helplines.

Who PREMIER suits
This card make sense for someone with ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 a month of restaurant and travel-agency spends, who books the odd hotel on SmartDeal and puts the rest of the month on it too. That person earns 2.5% on the good part, never pays the fee and gets a lounge visit each quarter. For an occasional traveller it is a cheap, easy card to hold.
It is not great beyond that. The 5X stops at ₹20,000 a statement, supermarkets, fast food and fuel earn nothing, and 0.5% on the rest is low. International spends loses money once the 3.5% markup and GST are counted. There is no international lounge, and accidental death cover is gone for new cards.
- Pick it if your dining and travel is steady but under ₹20,000 a month.
- Look elsewhere if you spend more on those, shop mainly at supermarkets, or travel abroad.
A quick check: ₹10,000 a month at restaurants alone earns 1,000 points, ₹250, each statement, which is ₹3,000 a year, and it clears the ₹1,20,000 waiver by itself. More choices sit in our best dining credit cards and the guide to reward points cards.
Pros
- 10 points per ₹100 on travel, dining and international spends, 2.5% at ₹0.25 a point
- Annual fee waived on ₹1,20,000 a year, and the first year on ₹10,000 in 60 days
- Extra SmartDeal points: 8 per ₹100 on flights and 20 per ₹100 on hotels
- One domestic lounge visit a quarter after ₹20,000 of quarterly spends
- Free redemption as statement cashback, and up to 3 free add-on cards
Cons
- 5X earn capped at 2,000 points a statement, reached at ₹20,000 of spends
- Only 2 points per ₹100, or 0.5%, on other spends
- Supermarkets, fast food, fuel, rent and insurance earn nothing
- A 3.5% forex markup is more than the 2.5% earned on international spends
- Accidental death cover withdrawn for cards issued after 15 July 2026
