Check the number before you dial

Searching for a customer care number is one of the most exploited moments in Indian consumer finance: fraudsters seed fake helplines into search results, map listings and social-media replies. Take the number from Bajaj Life Insurance's own site or from inside its app, and never accept inbound help. No insurer in India will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV, full card number or a screen-sharing app, and no genuine refund requires you to pay first.

Bajaj Life Insurance's own published warning: “BEWARE OF SPURIOUS PHONE CALLS AND FICTITIOUS / FRAUDULENT OFFERS. IRDAI or its officials do not involve in activities like selling insurance policies, announcing bonus or investment of premiums. Public receiving such phone calls are requested to lodge a police complaint.”

If money has already left your account, call 1930 and file at cybercrime.gov.in the same hour — see the first-hour fraud steps.

What you can get done on the Bajaj Life Insurance helpline

  • Pay renewal premium online by credit/debit card, net banking, e-wallet or UPI, or register the policy for auto-debit (Instant Premium Payment via Life Assist portal/app, website, WhatsApp, BOING chatbot)
  • Download policy statements, fund statements, premium receipts and the Premium Paid Certificate from the Life Assist customer portal/app
  • Change the nominee via the Life Assist customer portal/app
  • Update personal details - address, contact details, email address, bank details, PAN and password - via Life Assist, WhatsApp (8806727272), BOING chatbot, customer care 020-6712-1212, customercare@bajajlife.com or a branch
  • Switch funds (ULIP fund switch) via the Life Assist portal/app
  • Submit the Certificate of Existence
  • Register/intimate a claim by calling 020 6712 1212, emailing claims@bajajlife.com, visiting a branch, or submitting the Death Claim Intimation Form
  • Register a complaint online at https://webpartner2.bajajlife.com/GrvOnlineApi/indexOnlineGrv.jsp
  • Track a registered complaint at https://webpartner2.bajajlife.com/GrvOnlineApi/onlineGrievanceTracking.jsp
  • Track a new policy application at https://webtracker2.bajajlife.com/PROPOSALTRACKER/Appln_Track/index.html
  • Chat with BOING, the company's chatbot, or Live Chat with a customer care executive

Keep these ready before you call — your policy number, registered mobile number, the exact date and amount of the transaction in question, and any earlier complaint reference number. Ask for a reference number before the call ends and note the agent's name: without a reference, an escalation has nothing to attach to.

Claim intimation

Turnaround
"Dial our Customer Care Number: 020 6712 1212 for quick assistance. Visit your nearest branch for immediate support. Drop us an email at claims@bajajlife.com for timely assistance. Contact Nodal Officer, Mr. Suhas Vibhute on 020-66439027". Published turnaround: "Claims decision is communicated within 15 days of receipt of all necessary documents / clarifications. In case the claim requires further verification, it may take up to 45 days to settle the claim." The page also states "Death Claims except in cases warranting investigations, should be settled within 15 days from the date of intimation of claim" and "Death Claims warranting investigations, should be settled within 45 days from the date of intimation of claim", and "Within 15 days of receipt of claim" for communicating claim requirements.

Keep the claim moving

Intimate the claim first and get the claim number, then send documents against it — a claim that is not intimated cannot be tracked or escalated. Ask for the deficiency list in writing rather than over the phone, so that every pending document is on record; repeated requests for documents already submitted are the single most common reason a claim drifts. If the claim is repudiated, ask for the repudiation in writing with the policy clause cited: the Insurance Ombudsman will ask for exactly that letter.

Bajaj Life Insurance grievance redressal — officer, address and timelines

IRDAI requires every insurer to appoint and publish a Grievance Redressal Officer. This is who you write to when customer care has not fixed the problem — and the step you must complete before the Ombudsman will hear you.

Grievance Redressal Officer

Name
Mr. Gaurav Sadana
Designation
Grievance Redressal Officer
Address
Bajaj Insurance House, Airport Road, Yerawada, Pune - 411006, Maharashtra. CIN: U66010PN2001PLC015959 | IRDAI Reg. No. 116
Hours
Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Timeline
Approach the Grievance Redressal Officer if you do not receive a response within 14 days of the Level 1 complaint, or if you are not satisfied with the resolution.

What to put in the escalation email

One screen, no adjectives. Open with your policy number and the earlier complaint reference. Then: what happened, with dates and amounts; what you have already been told; and what specific outcome you want — a reversal, a corrected bureau entry, a closure letter. Attach screenshots and statements as files rather than describing them. Close with a line saying that if it is not resolved within 15 days you will take it to the IRDAI Bima Bharosa portal and the Insurance Ombudsman. That sentence changes how the file is handled, because it starts a clock the company is measured on.

If Bajaj Life Insurance does not resolve it: the escalation ladder

Each level has to be attempted before the next one will hear you, and each one needs the reference number from the level below. Nothing here costs money and none of it needs a lawyer.

Bajaj Life Insurance customer care — frequently asked questions

What is the Bajaj Life Insurance customer care number?
020 6712 1212 (Service Related Assistance (existing policyholders; also the number published for claim assistance)), 022 6124 1800 (Buy New Policy (sales)), 020 6712 1005 (Premium Paid Online, Policy Not Issued - Assistance for Policies bought from Website), +91 20 6712 1212 (NRI Services Helpline - Calling us from INDIA), +91 20 6787 1700 (NRI Services Helpline - Rest of the World), 020-6712 1111 (Grievance Redressal Officer (Level 2 escalation)), 020-66026773 (Head office / branch grievance walk-in (Bajaj House, Airport Road, Yerawada, Pune - 411006)), 020-66439027 (Claims Nodal Officer, Mr. Suhas Vibhute). Check the hours listed above before you dial. These are taken from Bajaj Life Insurance's own official contact page — verify anything you find elsewhere against that page or inside the app before calling.
Is there a 24x7 Bajaj Life Insurance helpline?
Only the hours Bajaj Life Insurance itself publishes are listed on this page. Where no hours appear beside a number, the company has not stated them — treat it as a business-hours line rather than assuming round-the-clock support. Fraud and card-block requests are the exception at banks, which run those lines 24x7.
Does Bajaj Life Insurance have a WhatsApp number?
Yes — 8806727272, published on its own website. "Send Hi to 8806727272" - "Manage your Bajaj Life policy with ease on WhatsApp. Simply message \"Hi\" to 8806727272 to start using our quick services". Published uses include updating personal details (address, contact details, email address, bank details, PAN), premium payment and registering an auto-debit premium mandate, and general policy servicing. Save it from the official page rather than from a forwarded message: impersonating support on WhatsApp is one of the most common fraud methods in Indian lending today.
How do I file a complaint against Bajaj Life Insurance?
Start with customer care and get a complaint reference number — every later step depends on it. If it is unresolved, write to the Grievance Redressal Officer listed above with that reference, your account or policy number and dates. If the insurer does not attend to it within 15 days or the resolution does not satisfy you, complain to IRDAI through the Bima Bharosa portal, and after the insurer’s final reply you may approach the Insurance Ombudsman free of charge.
Who is the grievance redressal officer of Bajaj Life Insurance?
Mr. Gaurav Sadana, Grievance Redressal Officer, reachable at gro@bajajlife.com or 020-6712 1111. Officer names change — the full current details are always on Bajaj Life Insurance's own grievance page, linked at the foot of this page.
How do I know a Bajaj Life Insurance customer care number is genuine?
Take it from only two places: the official website, and the support section inside the app. IRDAI requires the detail to be displayed there, and it is the one place a fraudster cannot edit. Never dial a number from a search snippet, a map listing, a social-media reply or a comment thread. And never accept inbound help — if someone calls claiming to be Bajaj Life Insurance, hang up and dial the official number yourself. No company will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or a screen-sharing app.
