Check the number before you dial

Searching for a customer care number is one of the most exploited moments in Indian consumer finance: fraudsters seed fake helplines into search results, map listings and social-media replies. Take the number from ICICI Prudential Life's own site or from inside its app, and never accept inbound help. No insurer in India will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV, full card number or a screen-sharing app, and no genuine refund requires you to pay first.

ICICI Prudential Life's own published warning: “BEWARE OF SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALLS AND FICTITIOUS/FRAUDULENT OFFERS. IRDAI is not involved in activities like selling insurance policies, announcing bonus or investment of premiums. Public receiving such phone calls are requested to lodge a police complaint. IRDAI CAUTIONS PUBLIC AGAINST SPURIOUS CALLS AND FICTITIOUS OFFERS”

If money has already left your account, call 1930 and file at cybercrime.gov.in the same hour — see the first-hour fraud steps.

What you can get done on the ICICI Prudential Life helpline

  • Pay first premium and renewal premium
  • Download statements: e-welcome kit / policy document, tax and premium paid certificate, policy / unit statement
  • Check fund value, switch funds and make top-ups
  • Update profile details, contact details, PAN details and nominee details
  • Register and follow up on a claim (24x7 claim support line; SMS 'I claim <PolicyNumber>' to 56767 to address a claim query)
  • Request door step pick up of claim documents within India by writing to claimsupport@iciciprulife.com
  • Revive a lapsed policy (SMS 'REVIVE' to 56767)
  • Request ECS / direct debit setup and ECS redebit towards bounced payment (SMS to 56767)
  • Get policy fund value by SMS ('NAV <PolicyNumber>' to 56767)
  • Register a PAN by SMS ('PANC <PolicyNumber> <PANnumber>' to 56767)
  • Get self-service information on policy surrender, freelook, partial withdrawal, assignment, nomination, payouts and annuity through the Customer Support service-process pages
  • Submit a grievance online and track its status: "The policyholders can track the status of their grievance on the Company's website."
  • Request a call back from senior executives 24/7 regarding a policy or application
  • Meet the Grievance Officer at the nearest ICICI Prudential Life Insurance branch
  • Send application documents over WhatsApp or upload them on the website

Keep these ready before you call — your policy number, registered mobile number, the exact date and amount of the transaction in question, and any earlier complaint reference number. Ask for a reference number before the call ends and note the agent's name: without a reference, an escalation has nothing to attach to.

Registering a claim with ICICI Prudential Life

Claim intimation

Turnaround
The insurer labels the claim line "24x7 Claim Support" and states "Priority Servicing for all Claimants at our Branches and call centres". No claim settlement turnaround time could be read on a primary page - https://www.iciciprulife.com/contact-us/turn-around-time.html and https://www.iciciprulife.com/claims.html both failed to load (502 / timeout), so any settlement TAT is unverified.

Keep the claim moving

Intimate the claim first and get the claim number, then send documents against it — a claim that is not intimated cannot be tracked or escalated. Ask for the deficiency list in writing rather than over the phone, so that every pending document is on record; repeated requests for documents already submitted are the single most common reason a claim drifts. If the claim is repudiated, ask for the repudiation in writing with the policy clause cited: the Insurance Ombudsman will ask for exactly that letter.

ICICI Prudential Life grievance redressal — officer, address and timelines

IRDAI requires every insurer to appoint and publish a Grievance Redressal Officer. This is who you write to when customer care has not fixed the problem — and the step you must complete before the Ombudsman will hear you.

Grievance Redressal Officer

Name
not published
Designation
Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO). The insurer states that a GRO is located at every office and publishes a branch-wise list of named branch GROs rather than a single company-level named officer; above the GRO it designates a Senior Management Grievance Redressal Officer (SMGRO), defined in its policy as "either the CEO or the Compliance Officer of the company".
Address
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co. Ltd., Unit No. 901A, 901B, 1001A & 1001B, Prism Towers, Mindspace, Link Road, Goregaon West, Mumbai - 400104 Maharashtra
Hours
Branch Grievance Redressal Officers can be contacted between 9.15 am to 5:45 pm, Monday to Saturday (except national holidays)
Timeline
"Submit your concern on the matrix below and we shall respond with a resolution within two weeks from the date of registration." The insurer's grievance policy adds: if a grievance cannot be resolved within 3 business days a written acknowledgement is sent; "TAT: Within 2 weeks of registering grievance to a final resolution letter/communication sent"; the policyholder has 8 weeks from the resolution to represent again, after which the grievance is reopened and "suitable resolution will be provided to the policyholder within two weeks"; if no reply is received within 8 weeks the complaint is auto-disposed.

What to put in the escalation email

One screen, no adjectives. Open with your policy number and the earlier complaint reference. Then: what happened, with dates and amounts; what you have already been told; and what specific outcome you want — a reversal, a corrected bureau entry, a closure letter. Attach screenshots and statements as files rather than describing them. Close with a line saying that if it is not resolved within 15 days you will take it to the IRDAI Bima Bharosa portal and the Insurance Ombudsman. That sentence changes how the file is handled, because it starts a clock the company is measured on.

Registered office: Reg. Off.: ICICI PruLife Towers, 1089 Appasaheb Marathe Marg, Prabhadevi, Mumbai 400025. Tel.: 40391600. CIN: L66010MH2000PLC127837. IRDAI Regn. No. 105.

If ICICI Prudential Life does not resolve it: the escalation ladder

Each level has to be attempted before the next one will hear you, and each one needs the reference number from the level below. Nothing here costs money and none of it needs a lawyer.

Level 1

Customer service channels - branch Grievance Officer, call centre, email or online 'Submit Your Concern' form; a call back from senior executives can be requested

Write from your registered email ID to customersupport@iciciprulife.com, call 1800 2660, use the Submit Your Concern form at https://www.iciciprulife.com/services/grievance-redressal.html, or meet the Grievance Officer at your nearest branch (branch GRO list: lifeline@iciciprulife.com, 9.15 am to 5:45 pm, Mon-Sat)

"we shall respond with a resolution within two weeks from the date of registration"; written acknowledgement if not resolved within 3 business days

Level 2

Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO)

Call the Customer Service Helpline 1800 267 8671 (within India) or +91 80693 85555 (outside India), or write to gro@iciciprulife.com, or submit your concern at the Grievance Redressal desk on the website

"we shall respond with a resolution within two weeks from the date of registration"

Level 2A (per the insurer's grievance policy)

Senior Management Grievance Redressal Officer (SMGRO) - the CEO or Compliance Officer of the company

smgro@iciciprulife.com or register the complaint through the website

Level 3

Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC), constituted by the Managing Director and chaired by an eminent independent member

Escalate via the link on https://www.iciciprulife.com/services/grievance-redressal.html, or post a written grievance to ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co. Ltd., Unit No. 901A, 901B, 1001A & 1001B, Prism Towers, Mindspace, Link Road, Goregaon West, Mumbai - 400104 Maharashtra

ICICI Prudential Life customer care — frequently asked questions

What is the ICICI Prudential Life customer care number?
1800 2660 (Toll-free policy servicing helpline for existing customers (advisors: call 1800 2660 and select option 6 on the IVR menu)), 1800 2660 (24x7 Claim Support, for calls within India (Press 3 from registered mobile number, Press 2 from unregistered mobile number)), +91 80693 85555 (NRI helpline; also used for claim support and for reporting a grievance when contacting from outside India (charges as applicable)), 1800 267 8671 (Customer Service Helpline to report a grievance, for calls within India (Level 2 of the grievance process); listed by IRDAI as the ICICI Prudential Life grievance redressal contact number), 1800 210 0045 (Assistance on policies bought on the ICICI Prudential Life website or mobile app), 1800 267 9777 (Toll-free number for buying a new policy online). It is published as a 24x7 line. These are taken from ICICI Prudential Life's own official contact page — verify anything you find elsewhere against that page or inside the app before calling.
Is there a 24x7 ICICI Prudential Life helpline?
Yes. ICICI Prudential Life publishes 1800 2660, 1800 2660, +91 80693 85555 as available round the clock. Toll-free: 1800 2660, 1800 2660, 1800 267 8671, 1800 210 0045, 1800 267 9777.
Does ICICI Prudential Life have a WhatsApp number?
Yes — 9920667766, published on its own website. Official WhatsApp account. The site invites customers to "Send Hi to 9920667766" to access their policy through digital channels, and to send pictures of application documents: "Click a picture of your documents and send it to our official WhatsApp account at 99206 67766 with your application number." Save it from the official page rather than from a forwarded message: impersonating support on WhatsApp is one of the most common fraud methods in Indian lending today.
How do I file a complaint against ICICI Prudential Life?
Start with customer care and get a complaint reference number — every later step depends on it. If it is unresolved, write to the Grievance Redressal Officer listed above with that reference, your account or policy number and dates. If the insurer does not attend to it within 15 days or the resolution does not satisfy you, complain to IRDAI through the Bima Bharosa portal, and after the insurer’s final reply you may approach the Insurance Ombudsman free of charge.
Who is the grievance redressal officer of ICICI Prudential Life?
ICICI Prudential Life publishes a grievance channel (gro@iciciprulife.com) but not a named officer on the pages we verified. IRDAI maintains its own directory of every insurer’s Grievance Redressal Officer at irdai.gov.in/list-of-gros — that is the definitive source.
How do I know a ICICI Prudential Life customer care number is genuine?
Take it from only two places: the official website, and the support section inside the app. IRDAI requires the detail to be displayed there, and it is the one place a fraudster cannot edit. Never dial a number from a search snippet, a map listing, a social-media reply or a comment thread. And never accept inbound help — if someone calls claiming to be ICICI Prudential Life, hang up and dial the official number yourself. No company will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or a screen-sharing app.
