5 Lakh Loan Without Documents, Salary Slips - Eligibility & How to Apply
At ₹5 lakh, "without documents" mostly stops being true. PAN and Aadhaar e-KYC, e-signing and the auto-debit mandate can still happen on your phone. But RBI requires every lender to assess your income, and with EMIs from ₹16,847 a month, most will want to see it, usually in bank statements. In our example ₹4,91,150 is credited after a 1.5% fee and GST. Here's what each lender asks for, the full cost, and how fake zero-document offers operate.

What is a ₹5 lakh personal loan sensibly used for?
Large costs with a known price tag that you can clear within three years: your share of a family wedding, a used car, or furnishing a newly bought home. Know where each EMI will come from before you apply.
Think twice if your income never passes through a bank account. At this size there's little for a lender to assess, and an advert promising ₹5 lakh regardless is the real warning sign.
What does ₹5 lakh cost from the first deduction to the last EMI?
Between ₹44,754 and ₹1,96,278 on our table. A 1.5% processing fee of ₹7,500 plus ₹1,350 GST comes off first, so ₹4,91,150 is credited while interest runs on the full ₹5 lakh.
The cheapest row, 12 months at 13%, adds ₹35,904 of interest. The dearest, 36 months at 22%, adds ₹1,87,428, so you'd hand back ₹6,87,428 in all.
Our 1.5% is modest for this group. Piramal Finance lists up to 5% plus taxes, ₹25,000 before GST on this sum, and Freo charges a fee on every withdrawal. The APR in each KFS includes all charges, so compare that.
| Rate (p.a.) | Tenure | Monthly EMI | ≈ Per week | Total repaid | Interest | Total cost incl. fee + GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 13% | 12 months | ₹44,659 | ₹10,306 | ₹5,35,904 | ₹35,904 | ₹44,754 |
| 13% | 24 months | ₹23,771 | ₹5,486 | ₹5,70,502 | ₹70,502 | ₹79,352 |
| 13% | 36 months | ₹16,847 | ₹3,888 | ₹6,06,491 | ₹1,06,491 | ₹1,15,341 |
| 22% | 12 months | ₹46,797 | ₹10,799 | ₹5,61,566 | ₹61,566 | ₹70,416 |
| 22% | 24 months | ₹25,939 | ₹5,986 | ₹6,22,538 | ₹1,22,538 | ₹1,31,388 |
| 22% | 36 months | ₹19,095 | ₹4,407 | ₹6,87,428 | ₹1,87,428 | ₹1,96,278 |
How large is the EMI, and what income does it assume?
Large enough to explain the scrutiny. At 13%, ₹5 lakh costs ₹44,659 a month over a year, ₹23,771 over two and ₹16,847 over three; at 22%, ₹46,797, ₹25,939 and ₹19,095. Even the smallest weekly figure is ₹3,888.
Set those against the stated minimum incomes: ₹10,000 at Unity SFB, ₹20,000 at Fibe and Navi, ₹25,000 at Piramal Finance, ₹30,000 at Freo. The lowest EMI here is 84% of a ₹20,000 salary. Lenders weigh fixed obligations against income, and EMIs you already pay shrink what they'll offer, which is why they read your statements. Missed EMIs attract the KFS penal charges and reach the credit bureaus.
Which records does a ₹5 lakh application need, even online?
Proof of identity and proof of income, both sent digitally. RBI requires a lender to collect at least your age, occupation and income before lending.
Piramal Finance asks for three months of bank statements in its online journey and wants your debt-to-income ratio within acceptable limits. Unity SFB lists Aadhaar, PAN and a six-month statement. Freo wants either salary slips or the latest three months of statements, plus your company name and work email. Fibe's documents page lists, for self-employed applicants, a selfie, residence proof and three months of statements. All but Freo are marked as requiring a CIBIL record.
The paper goes; the check stays. An Aadhaar OTP replaces a photocopy, account-aggregator consent can replace PDFs, and you e-sign instead of visiting a branch.
Which of the five can reach ₹5 lakh, and on what terms?
All five cover ₹5 lakh and every tenure in our table. Freo is a credit line capped at ₹5 lakh: interest only on what you draw, a withdrawal fee of up to 7% plus tax, and a yearly setup fee capped at ₹999 plus GST. Unity SFB is a bank whose personal loans run from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh over 12–36 months; its FAQ quotes a 3% fee plus e-franking, its charges schedule up to 4% plus GST.
The other three go further: Fibe to ₹10 lakh over 6–36 months from 2% plus GST; Navi, lending through the NBFC Navi Finserv, to ₹20 lakh over 3–84 months at 0–4%; and Piramal Finance, itself an NBFC, to ₹25 lakh over 9–60 months at up to 5% plus taxes. For Fibe and Freo our data names no lender, so read it in the KFS.
What is the safe way to apply for a ₹5 lakh loan?
Records ready, one lender at a time.
- 1
Get your free full credit report from a bureau and correct any errors before a lender looks.
- 2
Gather three to six months of statements from the account your income reaches.
- 3
Go to the lender's own website or an app on RBI's published list, never a link or APK file sent over WhatsApp or Telegram.
- 4
Apply to one lender at a time; Piramal Finance warns that several applications can hurt your credit score.
- 5
Compare each KFS on APR, amount credited, prepayment terms and the lender's name; the lender has to stick to it if you sign while it's still valid.
- 6
E-sign, set up the mandate and confirm the payout came from the lender the KFS names.
How do fake '₹5 lakh, zero documents' offers and data-hungry apps work?
They promise a large sum without verification. Business Standard describes the pattern: contact over WhatsApp or Telegram, an APK file or web link, aggressive selling and a promise of instant disbursal, with KYC skipped. Then comes the catch: an upfront 'processing fee' for approval, or repayment to a personal UPI ID. Real lenders deduct charges from the payout, as Unity SFB's FAQ describes, can't levy charges missing from the KFS without your consent, and must take repayments directly into their own account.
The data grab is the other half. RBI has warned of unauthorised apps misusing phone data and recovering in high-handed ways; victims describe contact lists and photographs used to intimidate them. A regulated app may not touch your contacts, call logs, files or media. Report offenders to the police and on RBI's Sachet portal.
Signed a genuine loan in haste? You can still back out within the cooling-off window, which RBI sets at no less than a day, and the KFS must name a grievance officer you can complain to.
