Check the number before you dial
Searching for a customer care number is one of the most exploited moments in Indian consumer finance: fraudsters seed fake helplines into search results, map listings and social-media replies. Take the number from Kotak Mahindra Bank's own site or from inside its app, and never accept inbound help. No bank, NBFC or lender in India will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV, full card number or a screen-sharing app, and no genuine refund requires you to pay first.
Kotak Mahindra Bank's own published warning: “Stay Alert! Do not share any confidential account information such as PIN, CVV, Debit/Credit Card number, OTP, passwords, Mobile Banking PIN or UPI PIN with anybody. Kotak Bank will never ask for such sensitive information. — Kotak also publishes: "Do not share card details — We will never ask for card details, CVV, expiry date or any such sensitive information over a call" and "Never share your bank details — No trusted company or government institution will ask you to share your personal banking information over email", under the campaign line "Don't let scams steal your peace / Think Twice. Act Wise."”
If money has already left your account, call 1930 and file at cybercrime.gov.in the same hour — see the first-hour fraud steps.
What you can get done on the Kotak Mahindra Bank helpline
- › Call 1800 4100 (toll-free) "for your Banking Needs, Complaints and Resolution"
- › Block a debit or credit card and other channels like Net Banking and Mobile Banking by calling the 24x7 helpline 1800 209 0000
- › Report a fraud or raise a dispute online through Kotak's "Report Fraud / Raise Dispute" link
- › Request a call-back via Help & Support on the New Kotak Bank Mobile App
- › Submit a complaint online by selecting the relevant product — Credit Card, Loan, Banking, Fastag or Other, plus Collections and Misselling Complaints and Digital Lending
- › Reach the bank through the inbox section on Net Banking
- › Raise a complaint at a branch, or by post to "Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. P.O. Box:16344, Mumbai-400013"
- › Check balance, view transaction history, reset MPIN, order a cheque book and manage cards via 811 Cares WhatsApp banking (Kotak 811 customers)
- › Escalate an unresolved complaint to the Nodal Officer and then the Principal Nodal Officer by email
- › Keep CRN and MPIN or Debit Card/Credit Card PIN handy when calling — "Please keep your CRN and MPIN or Debit Card/Credit Card PIN handy when you call us"
Keep these ready before you call — your loan or account number, registered mobile number, the exact date and amount of the transaction in question, and any earlier complaint reference number. Ask for a reference number before the call ends and note the agent's name: without a reference, an escalation has nothing to attach to.

RBI Banking Ombudsman
