Check the number before you dial

Searching for a customer care number is one of the most exploited moments in Indian consumer finance: fraudsters seed fake helplines into search results, map listings and social-media replies. Take the number from ICICI Bank's own site or from inside its app, and never accept inbound help. No bank, NBFC or lender in India will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV, full card number or a screen-sharing app, and no genuine refund requires you to pay first.

ICICI Bank's own published warning: “ICICI Bank will never ask for your confidential / sensitive information like Card Number, CVV, OTP, etc over the call or SMS or e-mail.”

If money has already left your account, call 1930 and file at cybercrime.gov.in the same hour — see the first-hour fraud steps.

What you can get done on the ICICI Bank helpline

  • Report an unauthorised transaction on 1800 2662, or from inside iMobile: Accounts and FD/RD, select your account, More Options, Report a Fraud.
  • Block a debit or credit card immediately by calling 1800 1080, through internet banking, or by texting BLOCK and the last four digits of the card to 9215676766 from your registered number.
  • Report a suspicious call or message from iMobile: Services, then Report suspicious call / message.
  • Raise a query, a service request or a formal complaint — three separate tracks on the bank’s complaint page — and get the Service Request Number you will need to track it.
  • Lodge a complaint from iMobile without logging in: Services, then Complaints on Android, or Customer Services, then Lodge a complaint on iOS.
  • Arrange free doorstep banking if you are a senior citizen aged 60+ or differently abled. A request made before 1 p.m. is attended to the same day; after 1 p.m., the next working day.
  • Check balance, mini statement, card limits, FASTag and pre-approved loan offers on WhatsApp, and block or unblock cards there.

Keep these ready before you call — your loan or account number, registered mobile number, the exact date and amount of the transaction in question, and any earlier complaint reference number. Ask for a reference number before the call ends and note the agent's name: without a reference, an escalation has nothing to attach to.

ICICI Bank grievance redressal — officer, address and timelines

RBI requires every regulated lender to appoint and publish a Grievance Redressal / Nodal Officer, both on its website and inside its app. This is who you write to when customer care has failed — and the step you must complete before the Ombudsman will hear you.

Grievance Redressal / Nodal Officer

Name
Mr. Phani Kumar Thota
Designation
Head of Customer Service
Address
ICICI Bank Ltd, Phone Banking Centre, ICICI Bank Tower, Financial District, Gachibowli, Hyderabad 500032

Timeline
ICICI Bank publishes turnaround times by case type rather than one figure: a defined TAT communicated at the time of lodging for normal cases; 30 working days for fraud cases and cases needing retrieval of old records; 30 working days where another bank is involved; and 45 to 90 days for chargeback cases under card network rules.

ICICI Bank customer care — frequently asked questions

What is the ICICI Bank customer care number?
1800 1080 (Main customer care — accounts, cards, loans, demat), 1800 2662 (Report online fraud or an unauthorised transaction), +91 22 3366 7777 (Domestic customers travelling overseas), 1800 102 5600 (NRI customer care (toll free)), +91 40 3099 8025 (NRI customer care from anywhere in the world (not toll free — call charges apply)), 1800 103 8181 (Wealth management customer care), 1800 1080 (Check the status of an existing grievance — press 1 and enter a Service Request Number no more than two months old), 9215676766 (Block a card by SMS — send BLOCK followed by the last four digits of the card, from your registered mobile number only), +91 22 3914 0422 (i-Direct trading and demat queries (not toll free)). It is published as a 24x7 line. These are taken from ICICI Bank's own official contact page — verify anything you find elsewhere against that page or inside the app before calling.
Is there a 24x7 ICICI Bank helpline?
Yes. ICICI Bank publishes 1800 1080, 1800 102 5600 as available round the clock. Yes for the main line. ICICI Bank publishes 1800 1080 as available 24/7, and NRI customer care as 24/7 from anywhere. The grievance-status line is narrower at 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, and the Principal Nodal Officer’s desk keeps office hours. No hours are published for the fraud line 1800 2662. Toll-free: 1800 1080, 1800 2662, 1800 102 5600, 1800 103 8181, 1800 1080.
Does ICICI Bank have a WhatsApp number?
Yes — +91 86400 86400, published on its own website. ICICI Bank publishes 55+ services on WhatsApp: check balance, view mini statements and request cheque books; block or unblock debit and credit cards; check credit card limit, last transactions, EMI details and billing cycle; manage FASTag; view pre-approved loans and calculate gold loan eligibility; open a savings account; and locate the nearest ATM or branch. It is open to non-customers too. Save it from the official page rather than from a forwarded message: impersonating support on WhatsApp is one of the most common fraud methods in Indian lending today.
How do I file a complaint against ICICI Bank?
Start with customer care and get a complaint reference number — every later step depends on it. If it is unresolved, write to the Grievance Redressal / Nodal Officer listed above with that reference, your account or policy number and dates. If 30 days pass without a satisfactory reply, complain to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in — it is free, online and needs no lawyer.
Who is the grievance redressal officer of ICICI Bank?
Mr. Phani Kumar Thota, Head of Customer Service, reachable at headservicequality@icicibank.com or 022 3933 7936. Officer names change — the full current details are always on ICICI Bank's own grievance page, linked at the foot of this page.
How do I know a ICICI Bank customer care number is genuine?
Take it from only two places: the official website, and the support section inside the app. RBI requires the detail to be displayed there, and it is the one place a fraudster cannot edit. Never dial a number from a search snippet, a map listing, a social-media reply or a comment thread. And never accept inbound help — if someone calls claiming to be ICICI Bank, hang up and dial the official number yourself. No company will ever ask for your OTP, PIN, CVV or a screen-sharing app.
