LoanTap is a Pune personal loan app run by LoanTap Financial Technologies, and the money comes from the group's own RBI-registered NBFC, LoanTap Credit Products, with MAS Financial Services named as a second lender. The one thing to know first: LoanTap's own pages don't agree on the price, so the Key Fact Statement in the app is the only figure that counts. The headline offer is ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh over 6 to 60 months, for salaried and self-employed people earning at least ₹30,000 a month. We checked each lender in RBI's register, read LoanTap's site, its lender disclosures and its Google Play listing, and went through the newest reviews. As of November 2026, most recent ones are about payments that don't show up and support that doesn't answer.

Our Ratings

Disbursal speed 3.0/5

LoanTap promises money within 24 to 36 hours of approval, but it still asks for documents and older reviews describe long waits.

Rates start at 12% and the listed APR tops out at 29%, though fees, a ₹750 platform charge on one page and 36% penal interest add up.

App experience 2.5/5

The app rates 3.0, and recent reviewers say payments don't update and the site and app threw errors when they tried to pay.

Customer support 1.5/5

Help runs on weekdays only, the Play support address is a Gmail account, and most recent reviewers say calls and emails go unanswered.

Safety & transparency 3.0/5

The lender is an RBI-registered NBFC, but terms and grievance contacts differ across pages and some users report AutoPay on loans they never took.

Try the LoanTap EMI calculator

Pros

  • The lender is LoanTap's own RBI-registered NBFC, named on the Play listing and in RBI's register
  • Published interest from 12% a year, and the Play listing caps the APR at 29%
  • Loans of ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh, repaid over 6 to 60 months
  • No prepayment or foreclosure fee once 6 months have passed since disbursal
  • Open to salaried and self-employed people, with EMI-free and overdraft formats too

Cons

  • LoanTap's own pages quote four different rate ranges and two tenure ranges for the same loan
  • Fees stack up: 2% to 3% plus GST, a ₹750 platform charge on one page and 36% penal interest
  • Close the loan before 6 EMIs and you pay 4% plus GST
  • Needs a credit score of 700 and ₹30,000 a month, and some pages also ask for a filed ITR
  • Support is weekdays only, and recent reviewers say calls and emails go unanswered

Our Verdict

LoanTap is a real, regulated lending app. Its in-house NBFC, LoanTap Credit Products, is on RBI's list of registered NBFCs as on September 30, 2026, and the Play listing names it as the lender. MAS Financial Services, also on that list, publishes its own disclosure naming LoanTap. For a salaried borrower with a credit score of 700 or more who needs ₹50,000 or more, the published pricing is fair for an app: interest from 12% a year and an APR the listing caps at 29%. The trouble is everything around the loan. LoanTap's pages give the rate as 12% to 24%, 16% to 24%, up to 22% and up to 26%, and the tenure as 6 to 60 months or 12 to 48 months. One page adds a ₹750 platform charge, and the support email on Google Play is a Gmail address. Since mid-2026, most new reviews say paid EMIs weren't updated, AutoPay kept running after closure, NOCs never came and nobody answered. A few say a small loan they never took appeared in their name. These are user claims, but there are a lot of them. Use LoanTap only if the KFS names the lender and shows the full APR, you save every payment receipt, and you're ready to escalate in writing.

Who LoanTap suits

Salaried borrowers with a credit score of 700 or more who need ₹50,000 or more
People who want up to 60 months to keep the EMI small
Borrowers who may repay early, after the first 6 months, when foreclosure is free
Those who like the EMI-free or overdraft formats and will read the KFS line by line

Look elsewhere if

You need less than ₹50,000 or your credit score is below 700
You want a phone helpline that answers if a payment goes wrong
You might close the loan in the first 6 months and don't want a 4% charge

Not sure the app is genuine? Is LoanTap real or fake? How to check it yourself

Things to Watch

  • Since mid-2026 most new reviews report paid EMIs not updating, AutoPay after closure and missing NOCs
  • Some reviewers say a small loan they never took appeared with AutoPay set up; we couldn't verify these claims
  • Play lists a Gmail support address, and grievance numbers and officer names differ across LoanTap pages
  • Short, generic five-star reviews arrived in bursts on single days in November 2025 and February 2026
  • Entrackr reported in June 2025 that LoanTap cut back its own consumer loans; some users get sent to other lenders

What Real Users Say

Read on Google Play on 4 November 2026, with the newest reviews pulled from Play's own review feed. Many short, generic five-star reviews were posted on one day in November 2025 and over a few days in February 2026, several starting with a stray full stop, which looks inorganic.

LoanTap rates 3.0 stars from 10.4K reviews on Google Play, and the newest reviews are mostly one-star.

What users love

Happy users mention a simple, fully digital application and quick approval; one 2026 reviewer liked the app but wanted lower rates and faster processing.

Common complaints

Paid EMIs not reflected, repeated payment reminders, AutoPay still running after closure, NOCs not issued, site and app errors at payment time, calls and emails that go unanswered, and users saying small loans they never took were set up in their name. Older reviews also describe pushy collection calls.

How LoanTap Compares

vs Moneyview — Moneyview also lends large personal loans to salaried and self-employed people, so it's a fair second quote to compare APRs against.

vs Fibe — Fibe serves salaried borrowers wanting a similar-sized loan; put its KFS next to LoanTap's before you sign.

vs Navi — Navi lends through its own NBFC with a fully app-based process; check whether its total cost beats LoanTap's offer.

How we tested

On 4 November 2026 we read LoanTap's website, fee, eligibility, grievance and partner pages, its NBFC's own site and policies, the lender disclosures LoanTap and MAS Financial publish, and the Google Play listing with its Data safety page. We pulled the newest Play reviews and checked each lender in RBI's NBFC list as on September 30, 2026. Everything here was checked in November 2026. RBI's Digital Lending Apps directory wouldn't load, so that listing is unverified. We did not take a loan.

LoanTap (LoanTap Credit Products) Customer Support Details

LoanTap doesn't publish a toll-free number. Its care line, +91 7888040000, and the email cs.loantapcredit@help.loantap.in work on weekdays from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, and many recent reviewers say calls go unanswered, so email with your loan account number and keep the reference. If there's no reply in 14 days, write to the grievance officer at gro.loantapcredit@loantap.in, then the nodal officer, then RBI's Ombudsman after 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LoanTap safe and RBI registered?
LoanTap Financial Technologies runs the app but isn't the lender. Loans come from its in-house NBFC, LoanTap Credit Products Private Limited, which is on RBI's list of registered NBFCs as on September 30, 2026, with MAS Financial Services named as a co-lender. So it's regulated. The bigger worry is recent reviews about payments and support, so keep every receipt and check the lender's name on your KFS.
What does a LoanTap personal loan really cost?
LoanTap's pages quote interest from 12% up to 26% a year, and its Play listing caps the APR at 29%. The processing fee is 2% to 3% plus GST, taken out of the loan, and one page adds a ₹750 platform charge. In LoanTap's own example, ₹1,00,000 at 18% over 36 months costs ₹32,500 in interest and fees.
How much can I borrow from LoanTap, and for how long?
The personal loan runs from ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh. LoanTap's site and Play listing say 6 to 60 months, while its lender disclosure says 12 to 48 months, so check the tenure on your own offer. After 6 months you can prepay or close the loan free; before that, a 4% charge plus GST applies.
Who can get a LoanTap loan, and what documents are needed?
Most LoanTap pages ask for an Indian resident aged at least 23 (one says 21), earning ₹30,000 a month or more, with a credit score of 700 or higher. You'll need PAN, Aadhaar, a driving licence or passport, bank statements for 6 months and salary slips for 3 months. One page also asks for your latest ITR.
What is the LoanTap customer care number, and how do I complain?
LoanTap's care line is +91 7888040000 and the email is cs.loantapcredit@help.loantap.in, on weekdays from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. If nothing happens in 14 days, write to the grievance officer, Rebecca Nunes, at gro.loantapcredit@loantap.in, then the nodal officer. With no fix after 30 days, you can go to RBI's Integrated Ombudsman.
Does LoanTap give an advance salary loan?
LoanTap's site describes an Advance Salary Loan of ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000 for people earning ₹40,000 or more, repaid over 3 to 12 months. It has a flat fee of ₹2,500 plus GST up to ₹50,000, or ₹5,000 plus GST above that, and you can't prepay it. The Play listing doesn't mention it, so confirm in the app first.
How do I file a complaint against LoanTap?
Work the escalation ladder in order. First, raise the complaint with LoanTap support (cs.loantapcredit@help.loantap.in) and insist on a written complaint reference number — a call with no reference number effectively did not happen. If it is unresolved, escalate to the grievance redressal officer at gro.loantapcredit@loantap.in. The regulated entity has 30 days to resolve it. After that, you can complain free of cost to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in — no lawyer is needed, and the decision is binding on the lender.
How do I stop harassment calls from LoanTap recovery agents?
RBI's rules on recovery conduct are specific: agents may not call before 8 a.m. or after 7 p.m., may not use threats, abuse or intimidation, and may not contact people from your phonebook to shame you. Blanket access to your contacts and photos is prohibited for digital lenders. If this is happening, save the evidence — call logs, screenshots, recordings — and complain to the lender's grievance officer (gro.loantapcredit@loantap.in), then to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in if it continues. If the app is not a regulated entity at all, report it on the RBI Sachet portal (sachet.rbi.org.in) and to the cyber-crime helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in. Harassment, morphed images and contact-list shaming are criminal offences regardless of whether you owe money.
