Shriram One is the app of Shriram Finance Limited, and the personal loan you apply for in it comes straight from Shriram Finance, an RBI-registered NBFC in the Upper Layer that also takes public deposits. The catch to know before you sign: its policy lets it block foreclosure for 12 months after your first EMI, and closing later can cost up to 4% of the principal. As of November 2026, Shriram's website lists personal loans up to ₹10,00,000 over 12 to 60 months from 11% a year, with a processing fee of up to 5%. The app's Play listing goes further, quoting up to ₹15 lakh at an APR of 11% to 36%. We checked those terms against its own policies, RBI records and recent user reviews.

Our Ratings

Disbursal speed 3.0/5

Shriram promises approval in hours and payout in hours to days, but an executive call is part of the process and some reviewers report long waits.

Interest & cost 3.0/5

An 11% floor is low, yet digital loans can be priced up to 36% with a fee of up to 5%, penal charges of up to 36% a year and costly exits.

App experience 3.0/5

Shriram One rates 4.3 stars with 1Cr+ downloads, but recent reviews describe crashes, logouts, missing loan details and no foreclosure button.

Customer support 2.5/5

Toll-free lines, a named grievance officer and a 30-day reply rule exist, but pages list different numbers and reviewers say emails go unanswered.

Safety & transparency 4.0/5

The lender is an Upper Layer RBI-registered NBFC that discloses its own app, though RBI fined it twice in 2025 and its privacy policy contradicts itself.

Loan Details & Charges

Loan Amount ₹50,000 to ₹10,00,000
Interest Rate 11% to 36% a year
Tenure 12 months to 60 months
Processing Fee Up to 5% + GST
Late Payment Penal charges of up to 36% per annum on instalments in arrears (Interest Rate Policy; Kolkata personal-loan page: 36%* p.a. on the overdue amount); mandate rejection ₹500 per month until a new mandate is registered; collection visit up to ₹500
Foreclosure Up to 4% of the principal prepaid / outstanding; Shriram may instead set a lock-in under which you cannot foreclose or part-prepay for 12 months from the first EMI (early exit only at its discretion, at up to 4% over the normal charge); additional 2% if another financier takes over the loan; part payment not available. One city page says prepayment up to 5%, and the FAQ page says you can foreclose at any time.
Bounce Charges Up to ₹1,000 per instance of cheque/ACH/ECS bounce (Interest Rate Policy)

Eligibility Criteria

Age 21-60 years
Employment Salaried; self-employed only if pre-approved with an existing Shriram relationship (otherwise steered to a business loan). Indian residents only.
Documents PAN; identity proof (Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID); address proof (passport, driving licence, utility bill or rental agreement); income proof for the last 3 months (salary slips); bank statements for the last 6 months; recent passport-size photos; one cancelled cheque and an eNACH mandate form

What It Actually Costs

Loan amount ₹1,00,000
Tenure 24 months
Monthly EMI ₹4,707
Total interest ₹12,968
Processing fee ₹2,000 + 18% GST = ₹2,360, deducted upfront
Total repayment ₹1,12,968

Illustrative, built on the example in Shriram One's Play listing (12% a year, ₹2,000 fee); totals use the rounded EMI. About ₹97,640 reaches your bank after GST, and your KFS rate may be far higher, since the app quotes 11% to 36% APR.

Try the Shriram One (Shriram Finance) EMI calculator

Pros

  • The lender is Shriram Finance itself, an RBI-registered, deposit-taking NBFC in the Upper Layer
  • Shriram names Shriram One as its own digital lending app on its LSP and DLA disclosure page
  • Rates start at 11% a year, with tenures of 12 to 60 months and loans up to ₹10,00,000
  • Fees, penal charges and foreclosure rules are set out in a published Interest Rate Policy
  • A named Grievance Redressal Officer with phone and email, and a 30-day reply commitment

Cons

  • Foreclosure can be blocked for 12 months after the first EMI, then costs up to 4% of principal
  • Digital personal loans can be priced up to 36% a year, and branch loans up to 42%
  • Processing fee of up to 5% plus GST, and penal charges of up to 36% a year on overdue EMIs
  • Shriram's pages disagree on the maximum loan (₹10 lakh or ₹15 lakh) and the prepayment fee
  • Personal loans are mainly for salaried people; the self-employed need a pre-approved offer

Our Verdict

Shriram Finance is about as established as Indian NBFCs get. It sits on RBI's register as a deposit-taking company in the Upper Layer, it names Shriram One as its own digital lending app, and it publishes an interest rate policy, a recovery code and a named grievance officer. That's a world away from the anonymous loan apps we usually warn readers about. The weak spots are price and exit. The 11% headline is only a floor: the policy allows up to 36% on digital personal loans and 42% through branches, plus a fee of up to 5% and penal charges of up to 36% a year. Foreclosure can be locked for a year, part payment isn't offered, and Shriram's own pages disagree on the top loan amount and the prepayment fee. RBI fined the company twice in 2025, once for routing loan repayments through a third party's account. The app is also busy with UPI, deposits and bill payments, and recent reviews complain of crashes, missing loan details, slow NOCs and unanswered emails. It suits salaried borrowers with a clean record who want a regulated lender and expect to keep the loan for its full term. Read the KFS line by line before you accept.

Who Shriram One (Shriram Finance) suits

Salaried borrowers who want a large, long-established lender rather than a small app NBFC
People who need ₹50,000 or more and plan to repay over 12 to 60 months
Existing Shriram customers who see a pre-approved offer in the app
Borrowers happy to deal with a branch, since Shriram has over 2800 of them

Look elsewhere if

You may want to repay early: a 12-month lock-in and up to 4% foreclosure fee can bite
You're self-employed without a pre-approved offer, as Shriram steers you to a business loan
You need a small loan for a few weeks; the shortest tenure here is 12 months

Not sure the app is genuine? Is Shriram One (Shriram Finance) real or fake? How to check it yourself

Things to Watch

  • RBI fined Shriram Finance ₹2.70 lakh in July 2025 for routing loan repayments through a third party's account, breaching its digital lending rules
  • RBI also fined it ₹5.80 lakh in February 2025 over KYC risk reviews, agent contracts and credit bureau reporting
  • The privacy policy says it may ask for one-time access to call logs and contacts, then says it doesn't access them; Play lists contacts and SMS as collected
  • Recent Play reviews report crashes, loan details not showing, NOC delays, closed loans still on credit reports and unanswered emails
  • Fraudsters copy the name: police in Sriganganagar shut a fake 'Shriram Finserv' page that took processing fees from loan seekers

How to Apply for Shriram One (Shriram Finance)

  1. 1

    Install the real app

Download Shriram One from Google Play and check that the developer is Shriram Finance Limited; Shriram's own website links to the same listing.

  2. 2

    Register and verify

Sign up with your mobile number and OTP, then enter your PAN and personal details.

  3. 3

    Choose amount and tenure

Pick an amount and a tenure between 12 and 60 months, complete KYC and add your employment and bank details.

  4. 4

Take the call, read the KFS

Shriram says a customer-care executive contacts you to finish the process. Check the rate, APR, fee, lock-in and foreclosure terms in the KFS before you accept.

  5. 5

    Set up repayment

EMIs are collected by eNACH auto-debit, so keep the account funded: each bounce can cost up to ₹1,000 plus penal charges.

Documents Required

PAN card
Identity proof: Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID
Address proof: passport, driving licence, utility bill or rental agreement
Salary slips or income proof for 3 months and bank statements for 6 months
Passport-size photos, a cancelled cheque and an eNACH mandate form

What Real Users Say

Read the stars with care: many recent five-star reviews are one or two words, polished five-star posts cluster on the same days, and the same five-star text appears under at least two different names.

Shriram One holds 4.3 stars from about 1.88 lakh ratings with 1Cr+ downloads as of November 2026, but recent reviews split between very short five-star posts and detailed one-star complaints. Most reviewers use it for vehicle loans, gold loans, deposits or UPI; few mention the personal loan.

What users love

Reviewers like handling loan details, EMI payments, fixed deposits, UPI and bill payments in one place, and call the interface simple.

Common complaints

Common complaints: the app crashes or logs out, loan details and documents don't load, there's no foreclosure option in the app, NOCs take weeks, closed loans stay on credit reports, support emails get auto-replies, and sales or reminder calls follow a login. One September 2026 reviewer said a personal loan first quoted at 18% came back at 35% after documents were submitted.

How Shriram One (Shriram Finance) Compares

vs Bajaj Finserv — Bajaj Finance is another Upper Layer NBFC with its own app, so get a KFS from both and compare APR and foreclosure terms, not starting rates.

vs Tata Capital — Tata Capital is a large regulated NBFC selling personal loans online, which makes it a fair second quote before you accept Shriram's offer.

vs SMFG India Credit — SMFG India Credit lends similar amounts to salaried borrowers; set its foreclosure schedule against Shriram's 12-month lock-in.

How we tested

Checked in November 2026. On 4 November we read Shriram Finance's personal-loan, charges, eligibility and how-to-apply pages, its interest rate, recovery and grievance policies, its LSP and DLA disclosure and its privacy policy. We matched the company against RBI's NBFC list as on 30 September 2026 and two RBI penalty orders, then read the Shriram One Play listing, its data safety page and the newest reviews. RBI's DLA directory would not load, and we didn't take a loan, so live offers are unverified.

For a loan problem, call the toll-free loans line, 1800 103 4959, or raise a request in the Shriram One app, which leaves a written record. App faults go to appsupport@shriramfinance.in and loan issues to grievance@shriramfinance.in. Shriram's pages list other helpline numbers too, so stick to these. Still stuck? Write to Grievance Redressal Officer Ms. Uma Maheswari VR, then go to RBI's ombudsman if 30 days pass.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Shriram One safe, and is Shriram Finance RBI registered?
Yes. Shriram One is the official app of Shriram Finance Limited, which appears in RBI's list of registered NBFCs as on 30 September 2026 as a deposit-taking company in the Upper Layer. Shriram's own disclosure page names Shriram One as its digital lending app. RBI did fine the company in February and July 2025 for compliance lapses, but its registration is active.
What does a Shriram Finance personal loan really cost?
Rates start at 11% a year, but Shriram's policy allows up to 36% for digital personal loans and 42% through branches. Add a processing fee of up to 5% plus GST, deducted from the payout. Late EMIs attract penal charges of up to 36% a year, and a bounce costs up to ₹1,000. Your KFS shows the actual APR, so compare that figure.
How much can I borrow on Shriram One, and for how long?
Shriram's website says up to ₹10,00,000, repaid over 12 to 60 months, while the Shriram One Play listing says up to ₹15 lakh. Its EMI calculator starts at ₹50,000. The amount you're offered depends on income, credit history, existing EMIs and Shriram's own checks, so treat the top figure as a ceiling, not an offer.
Who is eligible, and what documents are needed?
You must be an Indian resident aged at least 21 when you apply and no older than 60 when the loan ends. The personal loan is mainly for salaried people; self-employed applicants need a pre-approved offer. Keep PAN, Aadhaar or another ID, address proof, 3 months of income proof, 6 months of bank statements, photos and a cancelled cheque ready.
How do I contact Shriram Finance customer care or complain?
Call the loans toll-free line 1800 103 4959, raise a request in the app, or email grievance@shriramfinance.in for loan issues and appsupport@shriramfinance.in for app faults. If that fails, write to Grievance Redressal Officer Ms. Uma Maheswari VR on 044-2464 2733. With no reply in 30 days, complain to RBI's ombudsman portal.
Can I close a Shriram Finance personal loan early?
Usually, but read your KFS first. Shriram can set a lock-in that blocks foreclosure and part payment for 12 months from the first EMI. After that, foreclosure costs up to 4% of the principal, plus another 2% if a different lender takes over the loan. Part payment isn't offered at all, so you can only close the loan in full.
How do I file a complaint against Shriram One (Shriram Finance)?
Work the escalation ladder in order. First, raise the complaint with Shriram One (Shriram Finance) support (appsupport@shriramfinance.in) and insist on a written complaint reference number — a call with no reference number effectively did not happen. If it is unresolved, escalate to the grievance redressal officer at grievance@shriramfinance.in. The regulated entity has 30 days to resolve it. After that, you can complain free of cost to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in — no lawyer is needed, and the decision is binding on the lender.
How do I stop harassment calls from Shriram One (Shriram Finance) recovery agents?
RBI's rules on recovery conduct are specific: agents may not call before 8 a.m. or after 7 p.m., may not use threats, abuse or intimidation, and may not contact people from your phonebook to shame you. Blanket access to your contacts and photos is prohibited for digital lenders. If this is happening, save the evidence — call logs, screenshots, recordings — and complain to the lender's grievance officer (grievance@shriramfinance.in), then to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in if it continues. If the app is not a regulated entity at all, report it on the RBI Sachet portal (sachet.rbi.org.in) and to the cyber-crime helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in. Harassment, morphed images and contact-list shaming are criminal offences regardless of whether you owe money.
